  • get a real bike with horse power , loud pipes all bark and bite, like those kids who put big mufflers on their hondas

  • @KiamDiamond ....why? My bike gets me from 0-60 plenty fast, it does around 12 seconds in the quarter mile which is plenty fast for me, and I put the loud pipes on it because it sounds bad ass. Who are you to think I would want what YOU think is good? There's been PLENTY of riders come up next to me and find out how hard my bike can bite. BUT, I'm not in it for racing, if I was, I woulda bought some soulless speed machine. Not fun for me. Lame actually. My bike is better.

  • DIY rules. Fuggem if they don't like it.

  • Take those apes off and its a great girls bike paint it pink

  • @996artichoke

I was going to respond with a valid argument as to why you have no idea what you're talking about and are just spouting stuff you heard other weekend bikers say, but then I checked your profile to make sure you weren't trolling, and judging by the comments others have posted against you, you're indeed nothing more than a troll. Carry on.

  • HARLEY PRIDE. CBs are good, Kzs are good, Magna is good. bikes are good.

  • What bars are those?

  • @IROCKID just the 12 inch Harley mini apes that Harley sells. Coulda got some way cheaper, but got them before I knew there was other options the the HD store lol.

  • @whiskeywilliams What did you end up ACTUALLY having to extend? I'm getting ready to install apes on mine but I'm getting conflicting info from people as to what I actually need to install them...I've heard everything needs to be extended, and also that all you need to get is a longer brake line....thoughts?

  • @IROCKID I had to extend all my cables. Clutch, throttle, and brake line. You can tell in the vid what had to happen because the cables are now steel braided looking, rather than stock black. My clutch cable actually ended up being a little TOO long. Best thing is to MEASURE them. I didn't because I bought the "harley" 12 inch mini apes, so Harley already knew what lengths I needed. Best thing is to measure, then go get some from a biker shop the length you need.

  • @IROCKID ALSO, I had to reroute my wiring alittle bit for the turn signals and stuff. My friend had to splice his wires to make them longer, because he got his apes taller than 12". We were able to make mine work without having to make them longer. We just were able to pull the slack by rerouting them. Hope that helps! It's a pain at first but DAMN it's worth it, lol. We worked a straight 10 hrs, all night, on mine lol, fueled by beer and rookie determination haha.

  • Nice bike! How tall are you?

  • Comment removed

  • @grabba73 I have a tattoo that says Forever Two Wheels, meaning I don't care where it came from, if it's got two wheels I dig it. But I've got both american metal and japanese engineering in my garage and my japanese bike has broken down as much as my harley (which is very rare for both, just minor hiccups here and there). And my sportster has left damn near everyone that has tried to keep up, aside from sport bikes or cruisers with alot of work done. Ride on man!

  • yeah. that bike looks great. sounds good too. cool the way you make your own places for that stuff. I got a 99 sporty, just did twisted spokes in front so far. but gotta move a few things around to be satisfied.

  • Dig the Meteors tunes!

  • nice bike cool

  • You call that dirty? I had to pick the mud out of my oil cooler with a butter knife. A clean bike is one that doesn't go anywhere!

  • Here in england, I've got to say as a fellow harley rider... Its an owners individual taste.....and still cool, just that I like the more smooth classic lines on the harleys.

Enjoy it and ride safe! Cheers

  • I think moving the ignition and coil spoils the bike and tank brackets are too crude.. In all would of been better left alone!

  • @paulw1970 No way man, I respect your opinion, but I didn't buy this bike to leave it alone! Cheers!

  • Nice!

  • Thank you for not talking and just playing music and filling in with words. I like most of the mods. nice simple things that really clean it up. and i like the dirt cuz i fuckin' HATE clean ass polished show queen bikes. it is an insult to the machine to not ride the piss out of it!

  • @HeatherHell666 Hell yeah, thanks for the comment. I don't think I've washed that damn thing in a year, haha!

  • where at in florida are you? i just moved down here.... how do you like the 12 inches? im thinkin about throwing some on mine...

  • @undeadfred1 I'm not in Florida anymore. I used to live in Fort Walton Beach, in between Pensacola and Panama City Beach. Place was badass. I want to go back down but I have to play my cards right.

As for the mini apes, I love them. On one hand I want to get something cooler looking, like Z bars, but then I look at my bike and I'm like, "Damn, they look good though, and they are comfortable as hell". I'm about 5'8 so they are about level with my shoulders which is perfect for me.

  • Sweet ride huh? It looks like my ride. I got the same forward controls and bars. Take a look at some of my video's some time.

  • Hey are those the harley apes, cause i have them as well but yours look taller. Did you change the risers?

  • @hwker850 Yeah they're the 12 inch Harley mini apes, but I have them tilted foward alittle bit, so that I am stretched out more. I also sit hunched over a little, which I think makes them look taller when I'm on it. I've been pulled over cause cops thought they were too high (in Florida) but then when I sat up they were like, "oh uhh, never mind. Slow down."

  • Yeah I hear that man! I really appreciate the responses bro! and when i get beck from basic training im going down to yankee harley and getting on one of these bad boys!! Thanks again!!!

    HOOOOAAAHHHHH

  • thats how tall iam as well! Thats good to hear! Is it still comfortable riding with the forward controls. How much do you weigh? I weigh like 170

  • about 5 foot 8

  • How tall are you?

  • @teddyboo6g about 5 foot 8

  • @teddyboo6g about 5 foot 8

  • @teddyboo6g yeah the bike feels great with forward controls and the mini apes, I'd like to go taller on the apes though, just cause I think it's cool. I weigh around 145, but the bike is no problem to handle. The mid controls that came with the bike weren't bad, but to me it feels alittle more comfortable with the forward controls.

  • music is good !!

  • Righteous ride bro - Nice one

  • definitely my new bike. I could have done the exhaust, air intake, and power commander to the M50 and my stock sportster would probably still beat it. Sportsters are know for their light, nimble quickness. But it's not really that great a comparison, the sportster motor is 400 cc's bigger than the M50, so the M50 would have to put in alot more work to catch up. M50 is still a really fun bike tho!

  • what bike do you think is faster , and be honest , the m50 you had or your new one ?

  • Nice Job. :)

  • Hey Bro,

Is there any issues with that wee lil bracket between your buckets that your coil is attatched to? The buckets would vibrate at different rates, thus breaking something...?

  • haha, yes it will definitely break something. I went through about 3 brackets before I finally figured it out. My latest bracket has a lock nut on the bolt, NOT tightened all the way down (duh, I can't believe I didn't think of that before), and has a shock absorbing rubber washer. I do HVAC for the USAF and that's how systems with multiple compressors are set up and it works. Since then, my bracket has been fine after hundreds of fast moving miles

  • Hey bro, as far as the head light goes....

I put on a street bob head light on mine, it looks sick in my opinion. And all I needed was the bucket.

  • cool man, I'm kinda hesitant on doing a headlight change out nowadays cause I put in a higher intensity bulb which involved alot of extra crap so ive had enough headlight fun for awhile, haha.

  • awesome music. when it started, i thought it was Rev. Horton Heat

  • I'm going to ad my vid of My 08 nightster with the peeling Powdercoat falling off the strut covers, frame & rims. One a-hole harley dealer In florida said Oh no we can't warranty that, another dealer said bring it on down we'll order in the parts and fix it asap. but still , why is it peeling?

is your peeling anyplace on the bike?

  • That's crazy. I don't think that part of the bike is powdercoated, powdercoat electrically bonds to the metal so it never comes off, but I don't know. That's crazy that that's happening to you though, cuz MY bike actually had the paint on the fenders, fenders struts, and battery cover peeling. Turned out Harley forgot to put a primer coat on!! Harley guys said they had NEVER seen it before but it happened to me. Check where it's peeling and see if there's a primer coat on it.

  • fender struts, rims & frame R powder coated.

To every Harley dealer!!!just keep seeling your T-shirts to all the posers out there.

You could not fill my building with enough money to pull you out of a burning wreck let alone wear harley clothing.

Whiskey, what makes em' look at the bike even more?Take the Harley name off your bike cause, Harley not sending you a pay check to wear it ,are they? mine off paint was peeling off bottom too!!

    peace:)

  • all the stuff people look at my bike for, harley told me NOT to do, haha! Screw them, I do what I want!

  • This is a nice bike. I have an 09 Nighster in the UK. I have fitted the mini apes, had a stage one and put some short-shots on.

Anyway, I was wondering if removing the belt guard had any detrimental affect especailly with the rough weather in the UK and the fact that I occasionally fot an a lillion seat and take my wife out?

Also have you taken off the cover thing above the headlight. I alsways think it looks rubbish...

  • hello from the united states!

I have been running with the belt guard off for almost a year and haven't had any problems. My wife rides with the belt guard off also, and nothing has come close to getting sucked up, but we always check to make sure before riding off. Normal fitting jeans clear it easily.

Also, I agree, the cover over the headlight looks rubbish, but it's riveted on (at least in the US version) so it can't really come off, I've tried. I may just get a new headlight someday.

  • Thanks for the advice and well done on a great bike!

  • looks good bro.i'm about to do some more stuff to mine.the coil and starter relocation is bugging me out though.

  • very nice man...i recently got my first bike...a 2009 Harley Sportster 1200 Custom...i love it! I can't wait to start modding it and changing some things. It's one investment I will never regret making. I always like seeing what other owners have done with their bikes. enjoyed the video man. I have a vid up on here of my bike if you ever want to check it out. It's nothing special...just kinda' shows it off a bit.

  • cool man!

  • did you just cut off wiring harness and unplug the wires and re-route them to hide them under the tank????

  • yeah, except I also had to lift the front part of the tank about 2 inches to fit the wires underneath it.

  • I'm so glad I bought a Yamaha that still gives me a great ride with no rattles, leaks or inadequacies. It saves me a ton of cash! Plus, I don't have to buy a bunch of tee shirts indicating I am a wannabe badass that may or may not have visited every Hardley dealer in the world

  • ......is this some kind of anti-harley spam or something? Cause it doesn't really have anything to do with this video, other than you said "harley". Besides, my harley has been running perfect for 2 years now, no leaks, no rattles, just joy.

  • 2 years going...... almost 18,000 miles covered...... no trouble yet. oh, and who said wearing a harley davidson shirt made you look like a badass? lol i don't really wear harley shirts but if its gonna make me look like im some kinda tough guy...... maybe i will lol thats hilarious!

  • i thought i would go check out this yamaha you are so proud of i thought i would go check it out......... but, there is nothing there... no video's of this awesome bike?

  • very nice looks good

  • k moto tan chingona y original kabron , original ( k te lo traduscan)

i love original bike like yours

im looking for nightster or m90

  • thank you!

  • ever have any problems with the sprocket cover removed???

  • No, but I went ahead and put it back on anyways. I was worried my wife's shoestring might get sucked up or something. But as far as stuff flying up off the road, no.

  • your sprocket looks rusted??? is that from weather or is that just the way it looks. i have a solo seat and may consider taking mine off cause it looks more mechanical.

  • yeah it's from the weather. That sprocket cover keeps stuff from getting sucked up into the belt and stuff, but can't stop humidity. yours is probably alittle rusted right now. It comes off easy with steel wool, and maybe some polish. And obviously if you eliminate the cover it makes it easier for water and stuff to get on it. But the cover doesn't actually seal anything, it just covers. Hope that helps!

  • thanks brotha.

  • nice bike man!

  • Please tell me you are not one of those Harley snobs that thinks they are better than anything on the road... lol

  • ...no.... Where'd you get that vibe from? I have run into alot of dickheads that treat me like a snob because they ride jap bikes, tho.

  • haha man, just messin, but all the Harley crews around my town won't ride with anything else than other harley riders, dunno what its all about but yea I have to ask, do your arms get tired from holding them up like that?

  • Naw, those are only 12 inches. They're actually mini apes. I feel more comfortable being stretched out. It's all a matter of personal choice.

  • Ahh, gotcha, thanks for answering that one bc I have wondered that eery time I see the ape bars around town and never asked anybody with them. The bikes sounds great btw!

  • alright thanks man

  • yes its the nightster with the peanut tank. I raised it 2 inches and I filled up the tank and it came on about 20 miles after, but then when i shut it when i reached my destination, and then went to leave it didnt come back on again for about another 20 miles

  • thats weird. When you raised the tank did you move any wiring around? Maybe get ahold of a schematic and make for SURE that the low fuel warning is wired securely. Other than that, I have no idea. You could try returning the tank to its previous angle and see if it still does it. If so, it may be something with that circuit, if not, then I dunno. Try getting a gremlin bell, it almost sounds like you have gremlins dicking with your ride, haha! Let me know what you find out!

  • nice bike man, got one question, i just raised my tank and now my gas light comes on really early, did the same happen to you and were you able to fix it? ( and if so, how?)

  • Hmm. How much did you raise it? I'm assuming you're riding a nightster with the peanut style tank? My light doesn't come on early. In fact, it's coming on later, around 90 miles. When is yours coming on exactly?

  • hi nice bike dude, how tall are you? you look perfect on that ride. well done. nice one.

  • Thanx man, about 5' 7. Yeah I feel really comfortable on it. I look funny on the bigger bikes like V Stars and big harleys. bobbers FTW,

  • Oh, That's a bad boy alright! Love that look!

  • dude, i love would you've tug away all 'em wiring underneath the tank. I am trying to do the same thing to my bike as well. check out my vid.. i have done some work to my sportster as well, for starter, i put a 150 rear wheel infront w/ mid glide.

  • lol, that shirt is from a band called "Batmobile". If you're into rockabilly or psychobilly, check em out. They're pretty close to old school rock and roll. Youtube "Batmobile Ice Rock" or "Bambooland".

  • Ok, you're so painfully lame that I'm gonna have to block you. I've never blocked anyone, so I don't know what's going to happen, but hopefully it won't notify me when you post up ANOTHER lame ass little kid comment. Hopefully. Good luck in real life, I have a feeling you're going to fail.

  • wow dude you're pathetic, I'm removing your comment cause it's straight from the 3rd grade. Piss off bitch.

  • I have the M50, why do you dislike the Sportster?

  • me or that other guy? That blake guy is some loser from another video trolling harley videos. I don't dislike the Sportster OR the M50.

  • How does the Harley compare to the M50?

  • ehh, they're 2 way different bikes. I like the sportser ALOT better than the M50. The M50 was more comfortable on the road, but I don't care cause I'm looking to build a bobber with a rigid frame so obviously comfort isn't a problem with me. They both handle about the same to me, only because I feel more confident on the harley. It feels more stripped down and "bicycle"- like,to me.I feel like I can throw it around and stuff. It's also way faster. It all depends on your style though really.

  • I like the spocket less look, but does any part get rust from exposure ? I might do that too. sweet mod.

  • It was rusted before I even took it off. That cover doesn't seal anything, it's literally just a cover. All the moisture and stuff can still get in. The sprocket rusts up pretty easy, but it comes off easy too with alittle Mother's or whatever you use. I think the only thing it's really good for is keeping rocks out of the teeth, but I know alot of guys that run it without and they've never had problems.

  • what kind of ape are those? HD mini?

  • yep, good eye.

  • Sweet. Where'd you find those forwards??

  • ebay, good luck lol!

  • sharp bike man! thanks 4 the help with the pipes beat mine out like u was easy! thanks again .mike74615 take it easy!

  • lookin good man. i love seein people do their mods theirselves.....i meen that is kinda what its all about, right?

  • hell yeah
