Come on Kenny Smith....you seriously expect me to believe you never saw anyone try to block dunks before Jordan in college...you must not have watched very much basketball before Jordan.
This is EXACTLY why Kobe, Lebron, and Garnett will never be as great as Jordan (to say nothing of the Kwame Browns of the world). Jordan had Dean Smith and Roy Williams, who pushed him to focus on being the best player and made even Jordan extend himself beyond what he could have done by himself. Young players who go to the NBA straight out of high school will never have that. I do think it is quite possible that Kobe, Lebron, and Garnett could have been better than Jordan IF...

@airpro869 That is Al Wood. He was a very good SF/SG at UNC just prior to Jordan's arrival in Chapel Hill, and he played several seasons in the NBA.

My goodness, jordan's defense was off the charts - both in college and in the pros. But that gets talked about less than his offensive skills.
