  • it astounds me that vg music isn't played on the radio; it really is better than a lot of the stupid shit already on the radio.

  • d-_-b..........THATS IT I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!! WHERE THE FUCK IS MY GAMECUBE?!?!? NO FUCK THE WII!!!!.....(whispers) it just isnt the same...

  • Lets dance in Phendrana wooooo! BEST GAME ever!

  • Its...been 10 years...since...

    i feel like im fucken old...but im only 17...going on 18 next week.....FUUUUUU T_T

  • @sakuzenshi I know that feel bro. Now I'm wishing that I never sold my gamecube to buy shitty modern warfare. I'd trade Metroid Prime for all the fps clones on the 360.

  • Best Game ever

  • so thats where i heard that SMBX song.

  • video game music should be played on radios!!

  • Remembers me of Ratchet and Clank anyways

  • @Dxstroia why does america have to be so behind? When i go to clubs it's the same sex crazed hip hop and rap. You are one lucky bastard. ;/

  • @SlamTheLabel Try the night clubs in Japan freaky shit happens there espesailly in Kyoto 0_0`

  • Graphics are like icing. You can't have a cake with just icing, but having icing on cake makes it all the more sweet.

This game's graphics are mind-blowing, even by Wii standards.

  • Ah Metroid Prime, you seriously had the best music in the series.

  • how did I possibly not realize how sick this song was when I played through this 9 years ago?? I think its time i take out this game again.

  • this game was the reason I bought a GCN, and this soundtrack was the background music to me getting laid for the first time. I'm so glad Nintendo has such amazing music. <3

  • @Dxstroia did he play a secret of mana dnb remix? (:

  • this is like my fav metroid song

  • Missile expansion in that tower btw (need spider rail first though) lol

  • @Dxstroia Video game Music with DnB? Sounds like heaven to me.

  • @wikuk check out remix of secret of mana then!

  • metroid prime is such a a badass game

  • This was (and is ) my favourite track of the whole game and also my favourite area of the game :)

  • just finished this game days ago and is a fucking masterpiece!!!

  • I seriously cannot believe that this masterpiece of a game is already almost 10 years old. It feels like only yesterday I first opened it alongside my new GameCube.

  • @sallas09 i mean its basically

the best fps series I've ever played

screw call of halo battlelands 3

  • @sallas09 I KNOW RIGHT?

  • @sallas09

    dude! thats, so true!

  • @sallas09 10 years already? Damn i'm getting old

  • KING K WUZ HERE 2011

  • OH HELL YEAH!! still my favourite FPS game ever, and beautiful music.

PS technically it is an FPS

  • @austinthebookworm5 Oh, no. It's not an FPS. It's an FPA, a first-person adventure. If anyone doesn't buy that, just tell them it stands for first-person ass-kickery.It works both ways!

  • @GameMasterR5

I know... I know, I call it that but technically it is an FPS because it ticks all the boxes. And if it's an FPS, it means it can appear on all the 'Top 10 FPS lists'!

  • @austinthebookworm5 IMO it's a mix of both, along with a lil bit of a platformer. Lots of games cross genre boundaries these days. :D

  • @austinthebookworm5 I can't believe it's been over a year since my last playthrough of this game (which was my 2nd playthrough and was meant to fuel a hype train for Other M). That being said, Prime definitely plays FAR more like a Zelda game than any shooter, which is the main reason why most of us don't consider it to be an FPS.

Fun fact: Miyamoto originally intended Ocarina of Time to be entirely in first-person, but that was rejected and obviously ended up in Metroid Prime instead.

  • @LinkMarioSamus

YES!! I KNOW THAT!! IT doesn't PLAY like an FPS, it doesn't LOOK like an FPS, but TECHNICALLY it is an FPS, whether you like it or not.

  • @Dxstroia Best DJ ever.

  • @Dxstroia fucking SICKK!!

  • How has no one made a dubstep of this yet? Lol

  • @GeneralCane You don't need a dubstep of this. That's why.

  • @badplaceforpotatoes Oh I'm aware. I'm just surprised it hasn't been done. People make dubsteps of everything these days for God knows why.

  • @GeneralCane I can't stand dubstep, sorry, lol.

Just sounds like idiots and garbage cans to me.

  • @badplaceforpotatoes Lol well to each their own. I'm alright with dubstep personally, not specifically a fan.

  • Wrong area of Phenendra dude.

  • @jet874

the picture is, but the music isn't

  • @Dxstroia That is epicly fuckin' awesome man. Please give me the DJ's name and contact info. "doggy eyes"

  • I can't believe I still haven't played this game yet. Hope it's not boring for a 20 year old

  • @roamer45 Depends on how patient you are lol

  • Comment removed

  • Somehow, Bryyo Ice (MP3) sounds VERY related to this song

  • @Destrillion It's closer to the Normal Phendrana Theme, because of the same instruments and a part when it's exactly the same thing.

  • Amazing game. Amazing Soundtrack. Amazing ending. Amazing Story.

  • who is the boss that is huge in a big dark room and can change his color to defend against attacks ? i never beat him..

  • @darkwolf1536 the final boss? hes like the phazon mines or someshit? he changes colors and you have to change your viewer and your attacks to kill him. it takes forever. fuck that guy

  • @chrisfur2 yeah him, thats why i gave up

  • @darkwolf1536 yeah he killed me a couple of times, you have to go in full ammo full health. and figh him a couple of times before you can actually figure what attacks kill him when hes at different colors. good shit. i cant a gamecube and this game again. hopefully they remake these games for the next nintendo console

  • @darkwolf1536 It's Metroid Prime...

But he's pretty easy. Just own him with the combos.

  • Love it. Oh if only games these days put in half as much effort. Excluding Bioware and Bethesda. They are gods. ^_^.

  • @gestaltmadness Have you already forgotten DA 2?

  • @charlievrw Okay. Bioware made DA2. So my post was stating that these days games suck, but Bioware and Bethesda keep our hope alive!!

  • @gestaltmadness I was trying to imply that Dragon Age 2 sucked and ,as much as I love Mass Effect, ME3 might suck.

  • @charlievrw Holy Fuck? It did? That is kinda sad actually. I have yet to try it. Been knee deep in all my other games. Granted I will still try it out.

  • @gestaltmadness Try the demo, just don't buy that game its absolutely terrible, and thats coming from someone who loves the first DA

  • @charlievrw i'm glad someone thinks the same as me ME3 is too rushed but who cares this game kicks more ass than Mass Effect in my opinion

  • @Dxstroia

I tend to find myself enjoying video game music a lot more than a lot of the music released today. I especially love really good remixes of some great tunes done by the gaming community. In particular, I love listening to what the people at OCRemix come up with. Some of those tracks are just amazing. :)

  • @Dxstroia Hearing that makes me incredibly happy.

  • This music is epic. Found it on a playlist and I must say it will become one of my new regular grinding/reading tracks.

  • @GeneralCane Hopefully the music will convince you to play the game itself. It's most definitely worth it.

  • This game... so lonely. I loved it.

  • @Dxstroia This shows that video game music is better than some of our music today

  • I can imagine music like Metroid Prime's Soundtrck being in a night club

  • This could pass for a club tune with the bass turned up.

  • many douches criticized the gcn for no reason did they even hear of this game?

  • @atza20 Us Gamecube owners had the last laugh as it was the best of that generation :)

  • @jacksprat1990 i got this game when i was 6 :)

  • @atza20 Well, the same thing is happening for the Wii. They all think that the Wii is a stupid system with crappy games. They just havent found the good ones, like Okami, Muramasa, Monster Hunter, Metroid things (which Other M was really good btw, along with the Primes which were amazing), etc. The GC really was a good system with awesome games, but again, no one ever heards of them.

  • @Yayfaceman I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I thought that Other M was a horrible skid mark on Metroid's otherwise spotless track record. The gameplay was decent and the story was tolerable, but the controls went way beyond clunky, and watching Samus transform from the badass we all know her as to the sniveling little whiner she was portrayed to be was a little painful. Other than that I wholeheartedly agree that the GC and Wii have some amazing games that get completely ignored. Sad...

  • @PrydefulShaman you're right the history was ok but the controls not so good

  • This and super metroid represent everything I love about the series. They really delivered the goods with this title. It's perfect.

  • i remember getting this game and saying hmmm it doesn't look good. i turn my Gamecube on...........JIZZES

  • i first played this game thankgiving hoilday 02! played it in 03 again then 04 mp2 and so forth till this thanksgiving with other m also :)

  • I remember when my brother told me to buy this game and the day I played it I thanked my brother so much. This is such a great game, awesome music graphics, it has everything! I still play this sometime, just to get away from the games of the 20th century. Not saying they're bad but something about Metroid Prime just takes me away. Such an awesome game, why can't they make games like this?

  • @XxGonixXFAN Hitting nails on the head. Metroid Prime is made by a studio that captured the soul of retro videogames and translated it into a modern game. For me, Metroid Prime is the 2002 version of Super Nintendo games I played and loved in the 90's.

  • @XxGonixXFAN Why are you trying to get away from the games of the 20th century?

  • @Aphradonis Because they're not as great as Metroid Prime era. It feels like they just copy off of eachother (Bayonetta). A bunch of shooter games competing to get your attention (Halo/COD). I mean yes some are good such as Left 4 Dead but that's practically the only game I play and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix. Other games I get bored of right away because I don't find any creativity just the same thing over and over :/

  • @XxGonixXFAN Those games were all made in the 21st century, as was the Prime Trilogy.

  • @Aphradonis Metroid Prime felt more like late '90s. It's hard to explain but you know what I mean right?

  • @XxGonixXFAN no the graphics of this game belongs in the 2000s by far

  • Should have been in Brawl.

  • Is it me or this [amazing] song sounds like obsolete (by muthemath)?

for me they sound really similar, and I love'em both!!

  • Words cannot even begin to express how incredibly HARD I just nostalgia'd.

  • @superhomsar2112 Same here. Nostalgia is almost a problem for me :(

  • God damn i remember playing this when i was young and being scared to death of the Sheegoths. Good times

  • Lol how u people can even compare final fantasy with metroid? they are totally different games, if u want to compare metroid with something, compare with call of duty, or gears of war, I dunno, but a game that have the same category.

  • @AugustoXRock

metroid can be compared most closely with castlevania.

  • @Dumat20

Probably, but not with final fantasy.

  • @AugustoXRock Fire Emblem can, though.

  • @Kazumakiri

Fire Emblem? I don`t think so, mostly because is a strategy chess-like game, but I see your though

  • @AugustoXRock It has to have some importance. It's made more money than Final Fantasy since 2003.

  • @Kazumakiri

    I didnt get you =p

I was just saying that it cant be compared to final fantasy in game-type, of course it's a good game that made more money than final fantasy but that wasnt my point =)

  • @AugustoXRock I know. I was just stating a fact. :D

  • @Kazumakiri

    hehe ;D

  • As far as I'm concerned, it's like this.

    NES: Good.

    SNES: Great.

    N64: Good (it's all opinions, people =P).

    Gamecube: Great.

    Wii: Good.

Hopefully we're heading for another "best of the best" with Wii2.

  • @RayLedgend

I respect your opinion, but although they were both good, there is NO WAY the Gamecube era of Nintendo games was better than the N64 era, no matter how you look at it. (The N64 could have used some Metroid games, though...)

Judging by Nintendo's current approach of pumping out game after game full of old-fashioned, hardcore goodness, I'd say Wii2 is going to be amazing :D

  • @Tezcatlepocatl The way I see it is that N64 may have had some of the best games, but it had very few of them. Not a lot of developers worked with Nintendo in the N64 days, since Sony had over a year of a head start in the market, and used discs. The result was a few great games, and a lot of bad ones, and not a lot of in betweens. 6, maybe 7 of my top 20 games of all time were on Gamecube. I'd be generous to fit more than 2 N64 on the list. That's just my opinion, though =P

  • @RayLedgend. What makes the Cube much better than the 64? There are some great games on the Gamecube, but none really give me that same feeling like when I play the 64. A Link to the Past and SuperMario RPG are my top two favorite games, but the 64 still reigns supreme. Whatever your opinion, it's all good.

  • @geno1082 I guess it all comes down to how few games in general the N64 had. As someone who doesn't like the Legend of Zelda series, I can only genuinely say I liked StarFox 64, Banjo Kazooie, Mario 64, Paper Mario and a few multiplayer experiences like Mario Kart, Mario Party and Goldeneye. And not all of those were top tier games either.

  • @geno1082 Now on Gamecube, I liked Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Tales of Symphonia (not exclusive, so it maybe doesn't count), Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, Pikmin, Paper Mario 2, and multiplayer focused games like Custom Robo, Smash Bros. Melee, F-Zero GX, and Mario Strikers and these are all games I'd consider to be top quality. I just had more I liked on Gamecube, I guess =P

  • @geno1082 Super Mario RPG was on the super nintendo, though it was one of the last titles, I think you ment paper mario if you were going for the one on the 64.

  • @ShippoTail Err, no. I was saying that while my top favorite games of all time were ALTTP and MarioRpg on the SuperNintendo, I still felt like the Nintendo 64 takes the cake when it comes to changing the game :-) Sorry for the confusion. But like I said, we're all entitled to our own opinions.

  • @RayLedgend NES is the best

  • @sosoyo180 Maybe I was too young in the NES days, but I don't have many fond memories of it =P

  • 3 seconds in i heard do alaska dont do that

  • crazy music from a crazy game gotta love metroids

  • Bod-a Bop Bop Ba-buop *Glarg*

I LOVE IT! I cannot stop listening to it!

Then the sudden scale with turn ornamentals!

    Ah~♪ Bliss.

Whoever says listening to VGM on your iPod deserves a good stabbing.

  • I loved the environment in phendrana. Top it off with the music before the boss, then the remix after the boss and it made for an epic experience. I can recall a few times letting my gamecube on with the game running in that location just to lisen to the music haha.

  • 24 people will be arrested for drinking and hating this song!!!

  • The surrealism is stunning.

  • I love how Phenadrana drifts is your second favorite track ever. It is one of the best tracks ever

  • @RocmanRaz the list is not ranked so it doesn't have to be SupraDarky's second favorite track ever :)

  • Wow.. this song for second place?there are waaaay better vgm's out there..this one is pretty mediocre..

  • @goh145 /sigh People these days just don't read the description.

It's not a countdown, the number one song isn't the best song in the world, it's just a numbered list of his favourite VG tracks. The numbers are just the order he uploads them.

  • @goh145 This list isn't ranked

  • @xxDarkXOmegaxDragonX

Well it's tied for seventh with eight other titles with a score of 97.

And I suppose you only mean sales for it's opening week, as Prime only sold 2.8-3 million lifetime, a respectable and great achievement, but not putting it at all close to a top twenty-five in sales 5 or even 10 years ago, much less now.

It's not underrated, but it is a tad underplayed in today's gaming society.

  • one complaint about this game, and one only... underwater lvl... and that complaint isnt a big one, all in all, this game is perfect, but thats just me ;P

  • @MissPiddelin This game is most certainly not underrated. It was second in North American sales to only Grand Theft Auto: Vice City when it came out and it's the 7th highest rated game of all time, with an astounding 97/100 on Metacritic, which is unheard of. That doesn't change the fact that it's my favorite game on GameCube, though. ;)

  • Just up a great used copy of Trilogy, so I can play them all again, in a better state than ever before.

I was a little sad I missed Trilogy's limited release window, but now I have a fine copy, and it didn't set my wallet too far back, comparatively.

  • I only kept my Wii for two games - Metroid Prime and Super Mario Galaxy. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING GAMES.

  • @GameMasterSoko dude same here. this was my introduction into the metroid franchise, and now I'm a huge fan of the series.

great games, and great music to boot.

  • When i was really young I totally went out on a limb not knowing anything about this game and bought it on a whim. Who would have thought many years later I would consider this one of the greatest games of all time. I might have played this game more than any other gamecube game.

  • @GameMasterSoko This is my third favorite GC game :3 . Best Metroid game ever though, period.

  • @GameMasterSoko Ya! I honestly believe this game was the best game i've ever played. I was scared when i first bought it but i grew some balls and decided to play it.... I'm so glad i did. It's true when the say the ORIGINAL is the best

  • @GameMasterSoko Same here, brother. This game, I never heard of it and I was informed by my local game shop about it when the Gamecube was just new. I really wanted a Gamecube but didn't know what game to buy. he introduced me to this game as it was included in a pack along with Crash Bandicoot TWoC. I never saw a game this amusing and magnificent before and to this day it remains one of the best games ever. I was sold! I wanted this game no matter what!!!

  • @GameMasterSoko I did it like 5 times on the gamecube including a 100% items and 100% scan. I did it again on Metroid Prime Trilogy and I'm redoing it on Hypermode. I'll never get bored of it

  • @GameMasterSoko same dude!

  • @MissPiddelin If only they didn't remove the title screens! I *love* the Metroid Prime title screen music, and animation sequences from within a metroid. That's why I still own the Gamecube copies as well.

  • Listen to TenchuX remastered tracks of Super Metriod, they're really good. Love this track, favourite area

  • @SupraDarky Dude, I have literally teared up from the nostalgia in some of these videos, thank you very much, man. I've spent more than a few hours listening to these songs.

  • NICE CHOICE, I was very suprised. Great Collection man. I reccomend to everyone to listen to the metroid mearal version.

  • This game fires me up everytime I play it, I somewhat "immerse" at Tallon IV universe and just can't get out of it so easily........ Beautiful art, great story, incredible OST and an astonishing atmosphere. One of the best games I ever played! ^^

By the way, is there an upload for the "data-menu" music? If so, what number?/

  • Comment removed

  • I couldn't stop bobbing my head the whole time :D

    Perfect game.

  • Just started replaying this game... so much nostalgia! I love the Tallon Overworld II theme as well =)

  • I need to play Metroid Prime games.

  • I fucking loved this game. I'm now really depressed that I sold my gamecube... :(((((

  • @stuffers09 If you have a Wii you can get the trilogy on one disc.

  • @TwistyMcFisty Yea, rocks.

  • @TwistyMcFisty exactly! the only thing is that having a gamecube brings back so many memories :) I'm never going to sell mine!

  • @FrivoldSunshine Nor will I.

  • @TwistyMcFisty Worst mistake I've made in a while D:

  • wie unseriös dieses ranking doch ist

  • Wheres a metroid Trilogy Game when you need it?

  • suuuuuch a ridiculously hard game.

  • @AimlessAmoeba Metroid Prime is one of the single easiest Metroid games.

  • @sethisawesome It's just the before before the final boss. With the Fission Metroids and trying to stay out of the Phazon.

  • @AimlessAmoeba lolno

  • @AimlessAmoeba

Lol, Prime 2 was harder xD

  • @DashebleLink SO true, I think I died like 20 times trying to take on the Boost Guardian on the hard difficulty. Worth it though, prime 2 was my favorite of the trilogy :)

  • @ExileTwilight

    casual.

  • @Replicante05 Excuse me, what?

  • @ExileTwilight

    casual

  • @Replicante05 ...Could you elaborate? Casual, as in "casual player", or "Casual difficulty"? If it's in regard to my original comment, I've played the original prime trilogy on the hardest difficulty (hard, hard and hypermode), and in my honest opinion Echoes is more challenging in general which to me is a good thing.

  • @ExileTwilight

You are a casual. Sure, the boost gurdian is difficult, really difficult, but I did beat it without dying on my second play through, which was in hard mode.

  • @Replicante05 If you say so, clearly your E-Peen is far superior and should be respected. But in honesty, are you really so insecure you need to call other players casual when they aren't even complaining about the difficulty of something?

  • @Replicante05 I'll second this, once you figured out the patterns n such it really wasn't that hard. You want a real challenge though? You should see some of the speed runs people have done where they skipped like half of the power ups. I beat the first game without using the spider ball once, was pretty tough getting around, and that's just one of em. @~@

  • this game is my high school free time or part of it.

i passed countless hours on my game cube marios metroids games

metroid prime 1 was a dope to me i passed it 4 times ended up with the hard mode boss which i could not deal with....

  • @khav11 the last one*

  • Hm. Looks like I've found a good vgm music list to keep an eye of... Is going to take a while to reach the current end though. :)

  • This music was good,But phentdra was like hell to me.
