I am 42 and got vitiligo at the age of 35, it started with a small spot on my chin that kept spreading, I went to the dermatologist not knowing what it was. The Doc gave me some creams to apply and they worked in the beginning. Then it started on my fingers clost to my nails and did not work there. Nothing works now and the first few years were devestating, I have embraced it now but it is something that is emotionally draining. I wish there was more awareness. You are a strong beautiful girl.

hi, im an 44 year old black female with vitilgo, i've had it my entire life but it became more noticable after high school. my skin turned completely white as Maya's several years ago then about 15 months ago, i started getting freckles in my face. today over 85% of my pigment has come back freckle by freckle, hand and feet takes longer for the pigment to return. last year i started getting a little help to speed up the processby doing uvb light treatments on and off a few time a week.

I've got vitiligo to, i have it pretty bad to not as bad as you but around 45% of my body is white and my normal skin is tanned. I like it when people are interested and ask me things . You're really attractive. Theres this guy I see every morning going to work with Vitiligo all over his face and hands and I really try not to stare and judge him because I know I probably wouldn't have it in me to go to work everyday and deal with the stares and rude comments that I see him being subjected to every single day during rush hour. ps.. Have you ever considered using a self tanner to get a little color back?it wears off in like 7 days but it will make you look like you have some color. thats what i use on my face and arms and it works pretty good.

Hey I am 31 years of age and I have had this for 5 years now and It's not that bad yet but I know it will be though. It goes and comes on my face depends on weather (hot/ cold), I know it sounds crazy though. But I still hurt sometimes about this but as I get older I'm just like I blessed to see another day and forget what other ppl have to say about me and mines as long as my husband and son love me for who I am that is all that matters.
I have vitilgo on my neck, you have what's called universal vitilgo, I only have focal, located on my neck which means it doesn't spread throughout the whole body. it truly is a terrible disorder, and i feel your pain.

I have it too and i feel you :) it got to me for a few years i didn't get it tile 2005 i was doing home work and i looked at my right hand and saw a very small white spot and over a two month time line it spread light wild fire . I have it on my hands and a spot on my neck well? every were in the fourm of spots. but!! not my face i'm not shore on what i would do if i did have it on my face

I am also 14 and have it. However, I have only had it for 6 months or so. I feel so incredibly blessed because it isn't very severe. It is a stripe down my face. Have you ever worried about it effecting the iris of your eye? That is what I am the most afraid of. Have you found any treatments that even worked slightly?

The depression ive gone throgh because of vitiligo isnt even funny I worked out regularily so i was fit and toned but the it made me ugly I actualy look like two face off of batman. its covering half my face and it just stopped. I really hope there is a reaon god made this happen to me.

hi, im an 44 year old black female with vitilgo, i've had it my entire life but it became more noticable after high school. my skin turned completely white as Maya's several years ago then about 15 months ago, i started getting freckles in my face. today over 85% of my pigment has come back freckle by freckle, hand and feet takes longer for the pigment to return. last year i started getting a little help to speed up the processby doing uvb light treatments on and off a few time a week.

I've got vitiligo to, i have it pretty bad to not as bad as you but around 45% of my body is white and my normal skin is tanned. I like it when people are interested and ask me things . But i HATE it when people are talking to eachother and are like ieuewww what is that? I don't care about those people they are just dumb most of them..and very selfish, So all with vitiligo out there don't worry about it just act normal and dont worry about having white spots. I love my white spots <3

You're really attractive. Theres this guy I see every morning going to work with Vitiligo all over his face and hands and I really try not to stare and judge him because I know I probably wouldn't have it in me to go to work everyday and deal with the stares and rude comments that I see him being subjected to every single day during rush hour. ps.. Have you ever considered using a self tanner to get a little color back?it wears off in like 7 days but it will make you look like you have some color. thats what i use on my face and arms and it works pretty good.

I'm one of MJ's biggest fans and I didn't even believe it until I saw it on youtube now I feel REALLY bad because I was dissapointed cause I thought he was bleaching his skin. Honestly I wasnt surprised when I got it because my dad has it. I personally think that since there is no cure for vitilgo people should just except it and be themselves. Hey I am 31 years of age and I have had this for 5 years now and It's not that bad yet but I know it will be though. It goes and comes on my face depends on weather (hot/ cold), I know it sounds crazy though. But I still hurt sometimes about this but as I get older I'm just like I blessed to see another day and forget what other ppl have to say about me and mines as long as my husband and son love me for who I am that is all that matters.

I have vitilgo on my neck, you have what's called universal vitilgo, I only have focal, located on my neck which means it doesn't spread throughout the whole body. it truly is a terrible disorder, and i feel your pain.

I am also 14 and have it. However, I have only had it for 6 months or so. I feel so incredibly blessed because it isn't very severe. It is a stripe down my face. Have you ever worried about it effecting the iris of your eye? That is what I am the most afraid of. Have you found any treatments that even worked slightly?

ps.. Have you ever considered using a self tanner to get a little color back?it wears off in like 7 days but it will make you look like you have some color. thats what i use on my face and arms and it works pretty good.

The depression ive gone throgh because of vitiligo isnt even funny I worked out regularily so i was fit and toned but the it made me ugly I actualy look like two face off of batman. its covering half my face and it just stopped. I really hope there is a reaon god made this happen to me.

i've been in some internet sites where people are trying to buy monobenoquin i think its called to try and get white. it's a cream that people with this vitiligo use to take away the black parts of there skin.
