  • This Is Sooo Helpful I Have A GSP And And Australian Shepherd, Both Have Their Own Issues And I've Been Watching These Vids And They Are Really Helping The Problems, It Is Horrible To See All The Negative People In The World. How Would You Feel If Someone Criticized You and Your Passion? So Sad To See How Humanity Treats Others. I Still Like the Vids

  • Idiot, try and alpha role a dog and you get bitten. This technique is out dated, dangerous and ruins any bond you had with you the dog.

  • Doesn't work well with children...they turn into resentful people.

Dogs are the same. They don't respect you, they fear you.

  • this dude tries so hard shame but nah he nt so good

  • you are going to get one of your vict.. i mean clients hurt omg just stop

  • oh i get it now so if my dog tryes to bite me i sould pin it down and choke are u trying to teach us how train our dog or ufc

  • Dude u know shit that aggression to the dog...One day and i hope not that dog ur talking about might turn on is master...The alfa roll is given not forced...Ur not showing ur leader ur showing ur aggressors!

  • Dogs do not discipline each other like this. They pin in play as this is a predatory behaviour- great fun for them. Active deference in the canine world is shown by dogs voluntarily showing their vital organs- not dogs putting other dogs onto their backs. Furthermore, we are HUMANS, just because we try things dogs do does not mean that they will work. Dogs do not expect us to do these things are just become scared. So many people have been bitten doing these things.

  • bad ):

  • i know dogs can be obsessed with balls? think before you speak haha

  • What are you peoples problems? :S

Yes, we humans don't put each other to the ground just like that.

But let me tell you, my older dog do exactly that to my pup to teach him how to behave. And this pup still loves her.

Alas you criticising people can't see wheter this guy is disrespectful or not; you think that he is hurting the dog. He is not. Just shut up, of course your dog obeys you and your candy treats, but for real obedience you must do like the dogs do; for instance, putting them down.

  • @kottestaket I agree with you. I mean... I have grown up learning about dog's body signs and all that - just because I do not have credentials, or a fancy degree hanging on the wall, or have lots of money, does not mean I do not know anything. I have people ask me about their dogs, because they notice my dogs behave very well (still working on anxiety lol) And everything I learned, on my own (spatial/spatial thinker :) ) works perfectly, without gaining fear/aggression in dogs.

  • Do you understand anything about dog body language?! If that dog gave you any more whale eye... YOU ARE CLUELESS. Do whatever you want with your own dogs, but stop giving advice when you have no idea what you are doing. Someone is going to get hurt because of your recklessness!!!

  • oh POOR DOG! what about you being the dog and that somebody do that to you would you like it? I guess no!

  • What planet has this guy come from? Oh yeah, the Cesar Milan Dog Whisperer Dominance Calm Submissive Choke Collar Poke The Dog planet. Try actually learning how dogs really learn, then use science to teach them in a positive, force-free way.

  • quote" Bio: Ryan Gwilliam has trained over 10 dogs. He specializes in obedience training." End Quote that's all i have to say, i've been training dogs for a while and this guys is one of the biggest jokes ive ever seen. this method is not the best

  • yea but my chihuahua has an obsession with following my dad where ever he goes how do we fix that

  • Victoria Stillwell has a much better approach! This is teaching your dog to fear you instead of what you are tryng to instill in him. Possitive training is the best way!

  • wow this kind of old ass training just pisses me off, he's only stoped out of fear he needs to want to stop. >:/

    try clicker training.

  • You are right in a way, but sometimes dogs don't know what your point is; They might think you are teasing them or trying to abuse them. Thats maybe what some dogs think, but not all.

  • I just recently started to learn Dog Obedience as well. Ceasar's methods are a very negative way to take dog training. Please read about Positive training. There is no respect between owner and dog with this negative fashion, only fear. You're setting up an owner to get bit by showing them this method.

  • Check out the Tan dog @ 0:02 he was like hey buddy imma find a way outta this place. The white dog was like what the hell is going on lol. His dogs are trained but really dont show much love and trust. But you have to train and raise dogs like you want to I guess.

  • Your poor dog is like "What the heck is happening?" As you force him onto his side. xD

  • You're showing an extremely oldfashion way of dealing with dogs. You should update your teachingskills. Also it is a dangerous way of dealing with dogs, aspecially when your dog has an obsession. I just hope people don't try to do this at home with their own dogs.

  • what is the proper way of dealing with it?

  • @danijel57 That depends on the type of 'obsession' your dog is showing. The bully in this clip is talking about a dog who is biting hands when playing. The dog is just playing and challenging you. Of course biting in your hands is not acceptable. You should stop the game immediately and ignore your dog completely. Go do something else, turn your back or leave the room. At first the behavior might get worse, but soon he will learn that him biting you means the game will end.

  • I am a dog trainer and yes this method you say would work on a dog that is not obessed COMPLETELY with mouthing. I am dealing with a dog like that right now, and find laying him down and submitting him is the only way to stop him

  • @MrGandalf. If you are a dog trainer you know that you should seek help from a dogbehaviortherapist. There are other methods and therapies to deal with excessive mouthing, that are less dangerous that laying the dog down. When a dog is that persistent in mouthing, chances are that the dog has hierarchy problems. Forcing the dog into submission, might cause him to bite you or any other person trying to do so.

  • @cookiehappy Hi I have taken animal behaviorist courses in L.A. and yes i agree with you, I do not chain the dog I am working with, we completely relax him, massage, etc. then work on consistency of not letting him mouth other dogs. It is hard work, does not happen over night.

It is all about being consistent, dealing with the problem, not bandading it. Every dog is different too :) This dog I am working with is good with laying down into submission. Other dogs could bite if you do that...

  • This is crap..

  • both of u shut up!!!

  • hm? does this work? i tryed this and the dog seems more and more aggressiv he doesnt stop.

  • You put on a choke collar and tried to choke him. Ya thats smart.. Um dogs are not wolves but they do say dogs have traits form wolf pups. That means alot of what your saying is grap!

  • Wow,so much to adress...1st,let me start,by saying you have 2 nice-looking pit pups. And 2nd,you're teaching 2 extremely docile dogs agressive behaviour.Subtley, and unintentionally, but steadily aswell.Choke-collars are,for the most part, outdated. And should only be used in emergencies,or as last resorts. The owners of that dog should've tried screaming in pain and leaving the room(coupled with another person verbally scolding the dog or not).Or have her/him wear a Gentle-Leader in the house awhile.

  • how do yu train your dog not to lick you. thats nasty they lick themselves everywhere and then they lick you

  • canasfam, didn't you know dog's mouth is cleaner than humans?

  • hey Junior, umm...dog's normally don't eat their own poop..

but yeah, it won't take long when the bacterias in dog's mouth clean the mouth. but in the end, dog's mouth is cleaner than human's, i mean, normally.

is human's mouth clean after they eat their own poop? or after they've puked? i'm pretty sure it's not.

and if you're afraid of your dog's mouth so much you can always brush it's teeth lol.

  • if u dont like it licking u then u probably shouldnt have a dog and listen to xxGlowingRaverxx

  • yeah im going to listen 2 xxGlowingRaverxx i didnt no dogs mouth is cleaner than humans and besides im very proud of my wifes dog now she learned how to rolllover i look forward to teaching her more tricks

  • Comment removed

  • he puts on a choke collar

  • Comment removed

  • lately my dog has been experimenting a lot with marijuana, how can i stop this behaviour? or at least get her to stop eating my pot?

  • LOL !

  • Comment removed

  • 100% true, i beat my dog senseless all of the time and she knows who the leader is.

  • I dont know if that would work on my game pit man you just might find your hands rip off

  • fake dogwhisperer

  • pepper spray in the mouth and chocking him on the ground is not the right way this is animal abuse this video is horrible!!!!!! this guy needs not to have any pets or kids if that how he treats his pets poor kids

  • he didn't pepper sprayed the dog...he said the owner tried that.

  • dude the dog will NOT learn if you just pet him all the time. my dog used to do a lot of things i didnt like but i taught him. you got to punish him if he does something wrong and reward him if he does good things. just like with people. i mean if you had a kid and your kid got a baseball bat or something and then kept hitting your car. you punish him. like grounding him. or kicking him ass. i perfer the second one. :)

  • wow, you held a dog down and choked him or, the politically correct way (corrected him) for half an hour? most people i know would refer to that as animal cruelty. i am assuming, for the sake of humanity, that you tried other methods first before resorting to this last resort. You might want to inform these people who watch your videos what other methods you used as well. In their dogs case one of those less aggressive methods may help them without resorting to half an hour of abuse. Thanks

  • If pups are play biting find a toy for them to do it to instead.

If you attempt to do this to an adult dog or a dog that has been trained / untrained, you risk serious injury. Find a good obedience class, that teaches positive methods and you don't have to worry about using Ceasar or domination techniques!

  • people don't listen. You don't teach your dogs to be submissive. do you want your dog to fear you and to pee on your nice floors?? This guy is trying to quote things that Ceasar Milan wrote about.

And he is just another guy hoping to be famous on utube.

People are using the submissive roll to control their puppies. OMG, puppies are just that they should be able to be babies and grow up properly with proper training over a period of months, not the submissive hold.

  • you know.. i know nothing about dog training. im zero to it. i just found a lost young dog. it love to play running fast n jumping on me for some bitting each others game n he'll run away to let me the chance to do the same.. running at it n give it a good 'bite' everywhere. i hope that he'll play the same but without the bitting. i watch this video n i feel it'll be too hard on my dog.. n i love n wont bare to pull it right to the ground. after all, he just wants to play n not hurt me.

  • its funny to see all these people making comments on how dogs are to be trained. as i read its unclear to me weither they support his methods or not. i for one think dogs are like children which i have as well, you have to teach them right from the wrong. one of three things is going to happen in the future, they work at a bank... they rob a bank... or they own the bank... which one do you want them to do? sometimes tough love has to take place. but they grow to love, understand and respect you.

  • dogs are wonderful you can tell how happy they are

  • ummm no that wont work my dawg would bite you and hurt you badly once you let him up i have put him down before just playing and he bounces up an comes after me bites me in the butt seriously and my dawg has an obsession with things being plugged into the wall what do you do about that mr.smarty he dosent chew on other things laying around or any other problems but when i plugg my phone charger in or a real nice damn 150$ space heater umm thats the last thing i plugged in were he could reach???

  • maybe you should fix that

  • Finally ;) Cesar is going positive in 2009? that's to shut extreme, narrow minded, whiny, super knowledgeable animal experts like yourself up so that you stop pestering. It will however help many not so understanding people to be nicer to their dogs. People don't understand the context under which Cesar works so they may see it as everyday training & use it negatively on their own dogs. Cesar will pretend to be happy to satisfy stupid people. I hope it shuts you up to. My Vizsla loves you too!

  • JohnnnnyB23: Finally I will give my last opinion on this topic. Hmmmmm, where have we heard that before? Opinions are like assholes asswipe everyones got one! STFU! You have zero credibility. Better to sit there and look stupid, than hit the keyboards and prove it. You dont know jack dickwade!

  • hehehe....

and what did you just do?

    My vizsla loves you too!

    I will STFU now master.

  • Finally I will give my last opinion on this topic. Cesars show has helped me personally develop knowledge on dogs. I've enjoyed watching him help 100's of dogs with his skilled actions. However I find it VERY DANGEROUS that people watch it and then whenever "THEY" think something is wrong with their dog "THEY" use Cesar tactics for everyday dog progression and it indeed is harmful. Positive reinforcement comes first. We can agree on that. But you are very narrow minded. My Vizsla loves me ;)

  • This method does nothing but FORCE a dog into submission, rather than "LEAD" it to discover what the handler wants. The latter is leadership, the former amateurish short-cut.

Sadly, this trainer (and I use the term loosely) applies old-school methods that tend to traumatize dogs. Whereas correcting ANY dog before it knows (without question) what is being asked of it are BULLY tactics! And that is the difference between true expertise, and such played out for a camera. [;-)

    Happy Trails.

  • This Actually Works And He Doesnt Choke The Dog He Is Biding His Hand Around The Neck Without Choking Him Tightly I Did It To My Dog And It Is Much More Calmer Then It Was 2 Days Ago

  • His dogs are not calmer because of this. They have shut down and are living in fear. Look in any of his videos. The dogs do not wag their tails when he interacts with them. They are like zombie dogs - no enthusiasm. They do not respect him as a leader. He is just a bully. They will not even sit unless he pushes their butt down. This method terrifies the dog. It is what they would do to their prey just before killing it.

  • They Pay Him Respect Because He Is Acting Like A Pack Leader, If He Shows Fear To His Dog The Dogs Will Attack Him At Any Point By Doing This He Will Gain The Dogs Trust And They Both Will Be Happy I Do This To My Dog Every time It Acts Bad So Now Me And My Dog Are Happy .

  • This is specific for UNBALANCED dogs. You don't just do this to any dog. This is not training. This is for correcting extreme behavioral problems. Dogs that bight viciously, bark non-stop, will run away and disobey there owner under every context WILL NOT RESPOND TO HAPPY GO LUCKY TRAINING or whatever you want to call it. These little youtube comments dont help explain complex things to people who want everything to be simple. There is a time and place for 100lb rowdy dogs to have "enthusiasm".

  • There are very few dogs that are "UNBALANCED". They are simply doing what normal dogs do in the environment they're in. Environment also includes the owners. They need to change their behavior. This method just punishes the dog. Owners should be both teach and reward good behavior. Dogs will stop doing things that are not rewarding, in favor things which are. Dogs trained using positive methods are happy/enthusiastic about doing what their human partner asks of them, including settling down

  • "There are very few dogs that are "UNBALANCED"." - This is your personal opinion. BACK IT UP!

I'd like to see another series like "the dog whisperer" or like this training video that uses whatever tactics you "up to date" people are talking about. Where you go into a situation where you deal with an extremely unbalanced dog and help it to become content and balanced. hmmmmm and no training-esque wannabe's, I'm talking about fixing serious problems, not softy trainers... SHOW ME!!???

  • OH and by the way I never said that unbalanced dogs are common. I don't know where you got that from. I was simply helping others to categorize the type of "help" in this video. It very well may be rare but never the less it is important in dealing with certain behavioral issues. You must be an animal rights activist, or something along the lines?

  • The title on all the videos starts with 'Dog TRAINING tips', not rehab. The intended purpose of them is obvious. If rehab is needed, then owners should seek professional help, just as Cesar's disclaimer says. BTW, the disclaimer is there at the request of humane society who refer to these methods as 'outdated, improper, and inhumane'. And no, I'm not an animal rights activist, I just have too much time on my hands for a couple of days XD

  • Yes it's obvious by what I have been saying that I think this guys treatment is not for DIY dog trainers but for serious cases. Thats why I have been telling other people as well. Informing them to understand the difference between the two. But for you there is no structure or conclusion or help or solution. You just point out that this person is wrong with no answer as to how to fix things.

  • I take unbalanced to mean mentally unstable, psychotic, paranoid, neurotic, delusional, etc. These types of dogs while not common, usually have medical conditions and end up being put down. Aggression, fear etc are reactions to the environment, as they both require an environmental trigger. This is not unbalanced. It is predictable and repeatable. Have a look at NG's Dogtown for a better approach v=zpW1AskXtBQ It isn't as dramatic, but it helps the dogs. Even Cesar's going positve in 2009

  • its interesting that once again the way that you see things differs from what we seem to be talking about. Both you and I know what cesar means when he says "unbalanced" if you chose to give it your own definition that is fine but for the sake of consistency in defending your case you sound like silly by declaring your opinions which come from your ass. were not talking chemically imbalanced like in humans. Do you just want dogs in the same category as humans? is that what this is about?

  • This kind of training is outdated and cruel. There are much easier and better ways to get a dog to release something to you. How about actually training a dog and treating it like a living being? Train the "drop it" command by clicker training. I can get my dog to drop a half eaten meaty bone on command. Try that with your method - won't work. Dominance has nothing to do with dog training. It is an outdated, incorrect theory.

  • @HeartsongforGod i bet you my dog is way better than yours. and yes i use the submit method and other training methods as well. again i bet my 2 and a half year old yellow lab is way better than your dog. quick example i bike with her and she doesnt need a leash, remember she is 2 and a half, she is actually still a puppy. biking with her on the busy sidewalks of chicago with a 95 pound dog crossing the street with her is a breeze again no leash. so with that said outdated? nah.

  • @HeartsongforGod shut up like your a trainer

  • @HeartsongforGod He is treating him like a living being. Do you not tell a five year old to sit in a corner when he or she is bad? And how can you say this is an incorrect theory? Care to explain?

  • @TBKSLyCooPeR Do you put a rope around a 5 year old childs neck and yank on it? Do you pin them to the floor? If so please call the police right now. It is child abuse and should be animal abuse. Like I said, a drop it command by clicker training and positive reinforcement is tons more effective. If you want further explaination, take the psychology courses I have on animal training and some on abuse. Real knowledge comes from studying not watching these horrible youtube videos.

  • @HeartsongforGod You're exaggerating lol. I don't see a rope, and to train a child without physically harming them, you put them in timeout, yes sometimes you have to hold them there before they stay. And also, you only yank on a dogs chain to let them know they are wrong. they are living being but we are the dominant species, haven't you realized that if you study so much? I'm going to school to be a vet, an dogs are my specialty.

  • @HeartsongforGod Plus, who in the world would take classes that cost money in college that takes 2-4 years, to do something that's free, convenient, effective, non harmful, an takes a few weeks maybe less? Irrelevant man 'cmon.

  • @TBKSLyCooPeR Someone who actually cares about the wellbeing of another living being rather than finding the quick, dirty way of doing things. If you don't want to get a real education about it, don't talk like you know anything about it when you don't. If you really want to know more check out the real experts who are CPDT certified or check out the APDT website for information on what different certifications mean and how to choose a trainer.

  • @HeartsongforGod An before this goes any further, lets just agree to disagree. although I do see parts of where you're coming from.

  • So... you choked a dog for thirty minutes.

Why wasn't he just trained better in the first place?

  • And who (dog owner) in their right mind would want their dog to loose the desire (obsession) for a ball (or any toy)anyway? That's CRAZY! Play is how they release themselves and enjoy life!

  • And about the ball thing, my dog plays with me all the time and I can release her any time I want without ever touching her. she'll also down at a distance while retrieving the ball/frisbee if I ask her and she's only 9 months old. IT'S CALLED RESPECT not fear! I've never had to physically do this to any of my dogs and I have 6 from ages 5 mos to 10 yrs. Learn more about dogs Mr.!

  • The dog may not bite it's owner or you (the person who bully's it) but what about the next unsuspecting child or visitor who plays with it? You're not teaching that dog RESPECT you're simply instilling FEAR of you, the handler. He doesn't see you as his pack leader, if he did he'd respond to you WITHOUT PHYSICAL control.

  • You're just making your dog afraid... and an afraid dog is not a nice dog.

  • If you use this at the wrong time you will be bitten for sure. I'd call a trainer before attempting it yourself if your dog already has behavioral problems.

  • These tips are ood and all but his dogs look miserable.

  • Thank you very much for posting these videos. I have a very dominate dog and your suggestions really made a difference. Much appreciated.

  • Good way to get a client badly bitten.

  • A good way to get bit or scare the hell out of a dog. Try water boarding if this doesn't work. Geesh.

  • i am a dog walker and i was jumped and niped at by a newfoundland mix. i attempted to submit him because i knew ahead of time what to do because i do practice and teach dominance, but he was sooo big i am 5'7 and he towered over me. so what's a person to do if the dog is too big to submit. eventually he did back down after a few minutes of tugging tightly at his choke collar. but it didn't stop the problem.

  • this has to be done at a pretty young age otherwise the dog is already dominent.

  • thnx alot this has really helped
