I finally bought myself this gun last week (my very First gun ever!!!) Was totally psyched to go shoot off some rounds. The gun is very accurate and easy to shoot. I managed to get a pretty good grouping even though I've never shot anything before. Being a beginner, I figured I should start off with a 9mm, but the recoil is surprising weak. I'm going with something that packs more of a punch for my next handgun, like a USP combat tactical or something
Why does the gun sort of deflect towards the right after each shot? Shouldn't it force your hand to go straight up because of the recoil of the slide? Sorry if I sound like a noob, I haven't actually shot a gun yet, just got my licence and thinking of buying this one :)
@masterjarred32 Apparently it's called torque recoil. It happens when the bullet hits the riffling in the barrel and starts spinning causing the gun to move sideways (along with the muzzle flip and recoil.)
@88HyBrId619 In this case it has more to do with the handedness of the shooter. There is another first person video of someone shooting a 92fs with their right hand only, and the recoil is the same as this video, except pulling up and to the left.
You can pretend you're the shooter. Your shoulders are probably square to the target and your arm essentially forms a cantilever at an acute angle to your chest (so you can hold the camera). Recoil is now taking path of least resistance. Make sense?
@vnlk65n I tried shooting my 90-two with both hands, and what you're saying is totally right. In both cases, the gun wants to go in the opposite direction than the hand you're shooting with (up and left if shooting right-handed, and vice-versa). I never really thought much about it until now, since I normally shoot with both hands to make quicker follow-up shots.
man i thot this was going to be a video game video cuz it looked all first person and stuff! hahaha but man when i get older im gonna buy this gun. or gonna try to haha
I miss my old Beretta 92FS, I used to have two of 'em :(, had to sell them and my Springfield XDm. And Now my Kimber 1911 TLE 2 is in hawk! I own four guns in a year and a half and end up selling most and having to keep one in the pawn shop until at least next month (been in there for a half year, almost). Does this happen to other gun freaks? I know I saw a lot of this when near our President's innaugaration. But c'mon!
@hoboboxerjoe, point is, I found my Kimber TLE 2 ( a $900 gun) for $600! I think these sell around 650-750 depending on where you're at. But if you look carefully you can still find some barely used for about $500, I'd bet dollars-to-dimes on it.
I'm propably going to buy a 90two, but im not yet sure... Whats your experience? Is it durable, relieable and accurate? The most importand thing for me is durability...
haha... agreed on the name. rumor has it beretta let one of the engineers on the project name the gun. it didn't sound like that big of a deal to him because in italian 90-two and 92 dont sound the same! most guys in beretta land just call it the dash.
Does it sound the same? In spanish (Italian and spanish have very similar pronounciations) it would be Noventa Dos F (90Two F), and Noventa y dos F (92 F) very similar but not the same.
haha dude you totally did exactly what you were trying to then i coulda sworn it was some amazing new first person game Nice pistol by the way, i can't own one since i live in canada ( toronto ) and our mayor is trying to ban all handguns... luckily i am going to inheiret an 8' python and a s&w .22 target match pistol from family members.
Thats BS I own many pistols including a 90-two in .40S&W it is by far one of the smoothest .40cal I have ever shot. How can you say it feels cheap? Its a big heavy gun with smooth action and a wonderful trigger. Might not work well for smaller hands though.
Rang safety glasses are another good example. I always wear clear glasses. How many people wear yellow tinted glasses while out side? Not many, but they always wear them while shooting. Try putting Hogue soft rubber grips on your 90-Two. That should help with the discomfort.

@88HyBrId619
Because he's only holding it with his left hand, so there's nothing to oppose the gun's motion up and to the right.

@88HyBrId619 they don't always go up. Alot of times they can go up in a diagonal or nearly to the side.

Rang safety glasses are another good example. I always wear clear glasses. How many people wear yellow tinted glasses while out side? Not many, but they always wear them while shooting. Try putting Hogue soft rubber grips on your 90-Two. That should help with the discomfort.

I don't know if you carry for defensive purposes, but you don't want to get used to the feel of the glove. While walking down the street you would not normally have gloves on. Train as you would fight. This goes for everything.
