You Droid is faster than mines. Mines is so slow. I noticed that when you use your camera, it opened fast and mines can take about 4 seconds.

If i'm in my home screen and open it to the keyboard, it takes like 10 seconds for all my apps and everything else to load. You Droid just seems a lot faster than mines.

Also, sometimes when I push the home button, it can take a very long time for my apps to load.

I wish someone would do a video on the microsoft exchange feature on the droid... I hear it doesn't work, and if it does you have to pay $20 to get an app to utilize exchange.

This seems retarded since moto claims it works.

What is the browser like on the droid? I have the palm pre plus and love everything but the keyboard, I want to switch to droid if it gets the pinch to zoom update and if the browser is decent.

Great phone! I don't know anyone with it yet. Most people will have to wait until their contract is done (my co worker for one).

As for the removable battery, I don't see why I would want to care that or extra ones? How long does the battery last in the droid? 3 hours or less?? If so, then, I see the reason for 3 extra batteries...very expensive!

Hey, the android g1 looks like this... It's pretty corny. Should have been different. GPS are now $99 bucks or built in the car!

I have gone to the store and used it and i am getting it this thursday, but havent heard what it sounds like when receiving a text. also does it continue the conversation in texting like the G1 on t mobile? or does it seperate them every time you get a text and make it separate?

The Voyager, or Env Touch are nothing like the Droid. The Droid is a smart phone, and they are not. So Droid all the way.

the Droid is a smartphone, which includes a $30 extra fee each month for the data plan. Smart phones can do so much more than the env Touch. both are good phones. if you're into apps and email and browsing the web, get the droid. if you just want to text, get the env touch.

u dont have to download apps if u dont want to but if there is an app you want it doesnt come when u buy the phone..to get them you just go to the app store on the phone most of them are free a select few cost money tho..you can pick and choose which apps you want to get or not get

however when you go in to gmail.. go to acount settings or options or w.e and you can import your email from say hotmail, yahoo and aol among others were options and it worked really well for me.. now all my mail gos to my gmail :]

just bought the droid yesterday and i am 100% impressed... With the complaints regarding the keyboard, I found that it was perfect for me so don't let that push you away from buying one...My only complaint is that if you dont already have a gmail account set up, you cant really do much on the phone, so your going to have to find a way to transfer all of your accounts and information from (Yahoo, lets say) to gmail which can be a pain, but now that its up and runnin, it works great!! go buy one!

@entertexthere777 You pay your monthly talk fee, as well as a MANDATORY monthly data fee. Most apps are free. Using the browser over wifi does not cost anything.

One thing people might be turned off by is the load time, but iPhone is no better! It does show the page earlier than Droid, but Droid shows the page when it's fully loaded and can be used. The load time is faster on the Droid even if you cannot see the page first. You can't use the page until it's fully loaded anyway so there is no need to view it unless you can use it.

I am very much baffled by the rave over the moto droid .. I'm almost inclined to think people have just been wanting something on VZW to do half the things the iPhone does and they are brainwashed that this is it.

My opinion appears to be the minority thus far however.

Maybe that's because you're biased? Or maybe you just don't understand how to use it to its full advantage. I was playing around with a friend's Droid today and it's very impressive. I would say it can do anything an iphone can do, possibly more and it's not locked down. The keyboard is a keyboard, some people like it some don't but the onscreen keyboards work very well too. The camera is ok but its video capability is awesome and I like the design, it's minimal industrialist.

I'm a pretty techy chick and have both ..

I'm a tad biased as I have been using winmo for years (since the xv6600) but the droid is seriously not intuitive to me... at all. The only good things I found so far .. the maps/nav, and audible search are friggin A M A A Z I N G ! as is the speaker... That's it .. seriously. droid keyboard and camera are a joke. square form really awkward. Taking mine back for a HTC droid and will wait for the android 2.0 update.

The camera is more than good for a camera phone, better than most phones have. There is an autofocus bug that will be fixed in an update they are already working on.

The keyboard had to be flat in order for the phone to be as slim as it is and as I prefer it.

My biggest concern is the slider. Is it sturdy when closed or does it have play from side to side. I just got rid of my Pre to get the Droid, I loved the WebOS but the hardware was CRAP the slider twisted sooo bad! Thanks!

Its very sturdy. The entire phone oozes with quality. I got a chance to play with it and its very solid. Only thing that felt loose was the volume rocker.
