JusticeNature, I stopped telling myself what everyone told me: I have to be productive, I have to do this and that to please God, I have to pursue these things, I have to follow my guru, I have to follow the dharma.... One day I told myself: life is too complex; it is certainly not a recipe for poundcake, and then I stumbled upon Krishnamurti's speech "Truth is a Pathless Land" and from that moment on I decided I would let life surprise me, without expectations and without fixed ideas. Bliss!!!
Thanks for your response jigme800. In a perfect world how you've changed seems to make sense. But without being productive and pursueing things how can you survive ? (practicalities of life, such as paying rent, food, travel etc). I love the idea and concept of what your describing and i understand te part of not needing to 'follow' another personbut with regards to productivity and purseing things I'm not sure how I and the people I am partly responsible for, will live.
JusticeNature: Life is an ocean of possibilities, and we focus on just a tiny fraction of them. If I say "I have to be productive" it is as if I were saying "I have to produce the air I breathe". Abundance is in excess in the universe. Many years ago, I decided to say "I vibrate in the specific frequency of fantastic abundance". For 17 years, I haven't had to work that much, and I live in wealth; and, no, I didn't inherit anything. Money comes out of the blue. Go figure!!!
Thanks for your note. I'm currently in research mode and trying to understand your statements. I want to believe what your saying for many reasons, one being my dreadfully boring 9-5 thats i feel is holding me back. With regards to you statement 'freqency of fantastic abdundance' - i wish it was that simple, i guess you're lucky.I'm going to try it anyway but I wonder why half the world is living on less than $2 a day. Are you saying if they understood the meaning of that sentence they....
Hey a great book to read which is very similar to these teachings is conversations with God by neal Donald walsch. Its true what you said to Jigme800 some teachings seem to simple to believe but when you stick with it it turns out to be our conditioning that is in the way.
Great book to check out though if your looking for some inspiration
WOW inspiring... maybe i will leave my maths test in blank this friday. it sure would be easier :D
