Does anyone know how to make pictures look like the way this album art? I mean the way the shape of the camel is broken down :) I can't find anything about it on the Internet
@EliteOps1 Quote from the band's official website camelproductions . com: "Their second album, 'MIRAGE', heightened their profile and the album sleeve attracted the unwanted attention of the USA branch of Camel cigarettes who demanded the band change the cover or face legal action. The USA record company quickly fashioned a new sleeve to avoid legal hassles. The original sleeve remained unchanged throughout the rest of the world as Geoff Jukes had already struck a deal with the European ...

So enamoured were the executives in Europe, they visited the band in the studio trying to talk CAMEL into renaming the songs on 'MIRAGE' (e.g., "Twenty To The Pack"). They also wanted CAMEL to cover their amps with camel skins, allow advertisements and give away cigarettes at all the performances. The latter was successful as Jukes ...
@EliteOps1 ... had struck a deal the band were never privy to. The band were getting 'belligerent' and a sarcastically amusing Peter Bardens suggested an album song-title of "Twenty Sticks Of Cancer".
Thus ended the association twixt the beast and the leaf."
Absolutley the best song of camel! My stephfather opend my eyes when i was 11(i am 16 now). We were at diner and he said: Listin to this. And first i thought: Againg a boring song.
But it was differtent. Now when i hear the part that start at 5:13 i got tears in my eyes and i see Andy playing. Wow... so much feeling in this song. Andy Latimer is absolutley a great guitarist. Please don't die Andy! I know you are sick and we all want you to be healthy againg :)
@DeIMarrrrr Yeah, I always knew about Camel, but I never really explored their music till at the end of "Ending Credits" Akerfeldt said "it's totally ripped off of a band called Camel," that prompted me to explore their music more. So props to Akerfeldt.
This is utterly AWESOME... brilliant... masterpiece. How come Camel never got the success like genesis, Pink Floyd and Rush. They'd certainly deserve it.
I saw Camel's 20th anniv show in san jose ca,. I hear Andy Latimer is very ill or has passed. Im not sure. But I was blessed to see them perform. Onother band underated.
It's really great to see people so young enjoying such wonderful music. Guy's try some of these: Ambrosia, Brand X, Chicago, Frank Zappa, Yes, Moody Blues, Firesign Theatre, The Who. There are many more so keep looking......Long live good ol Rock N Roll
First heard of Camel in 1979...a friend was into them and this was the first song I heard. We would be hanging around the parking lot with this playing in his car...I heard the first keyboard soloand asked "Is that the doors?" Then a few weeks later another friend asked the same thing. It just has such a smooth sound with a clean background
@jcast18k hmm just listen to some albums...CAMEL, MIRAGE, THE SNOW GOOSE,(their first 3 albums)from NUDE listen the song LIES and DON'T MISS THE- STATIONARY TRAVELER!! that's all the albums i have listened from them so i recomend all of them to you..i'll check out all the their other discography some time.

@papynou48 c'est fou comment ils sont sous-estimer ce groupe non? je veux dire.. Camel est l'un des plus forts groupes des annees soixantes-dix, et aujourd'hui cest un peu comme si ils ne sont jamais exister!
