i have trouble getting triples on both feet and doubles on the left. also, i use heel toe on my right and it works great for doubles. i have some problems with keeping double bass even when i go at around 165 bpm. are there any videos to help me?
I'm having an issue getting down fast, consistent single foot speed. Not like, doubles or triples with one foot. I'm perfect at slide and heal-toe for those. I'm trying to master playing at like, 200bpm with one foot. Kind of like Tim Waterson.
my biggest problem is holding control of left foot. my right foot is pretty strong but my left foot lets me down in my control and tempo and volume. just everything really.
my biggest struggle is since im kinda in a band metal/metalcore (screamo) my bandmates depend on me to do fast and consistant good double bbass so i need help with that :p
q/a: My Left foot is weak and slow. learned realy fast single foot and punk beats when first started drumming. now trying to incorporate the double pedal.
My problem honestly is that I have no particular style of bass drum technique. I kind of have my own way of playing but I'm not sure what I should do :P
My biggest struggle is fighting my muscle memory - I have this problem where my foot tenses right before I attempt a double - when it is relaxed I can play no problem - but it almost ALWAYS tenses up - been fighting it by slowing it down for the last two years but progress is slow,.......
@JFDrummer22 you might be playing a bit too fast. slow ur tempo down and work with a metronome. a good speed to work with is about 150ish bpm. try and play alternating quarter notes on each foot, then eighth notes, then sixteenth notes and so on and so forth. keep practicing and i hope this helps!!
my biggest struggle is endurance. but considering that i have really bad pedals, that may have something to do with it. i'm putting more work than i probably need to. also heel toe.
I can't get my pedal right! I just don't know what to do with it! I bought a double pedal about 6 months ago and I just can't get it the way I want it! I can't start learning till it's right
Biggest problem for me is maintaining a fast double bass speed for more than a couple of bars without it starting to hurt my hip.... so building stamina I guess
hey Dave 1 question: a) i agree the slide seems simpler than the heel toe (its killing my ankle :\) b) i have sonor p472s (double pedals) and i like playing barefoot, should try the slide on that considering the gripping grooves on that?? or do i need to wear shoes? basically since the footboard doesnt have a smooth part like the yamaha's or the mapex falcons ??
my biggest problems in base drum tech are i just cant maintain my stamina, i get tired quickly if i play double bass constantly, and speed is also my problem, i have a hard time developing my bass drum speed.
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah the jamming at the beginning was fffuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing greeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!!! You are gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood
@frenstep thanks for the reply, and thats true in i add more weight, but its more of that it goes out or contrll and then it goes fasterr then the pace i want it to go at, try it out, do like for like a straight 5 min and try to play something like the immigrant song by led zeppilin
Hey i really hope you read this....what i notice is when im in class and i cant stay still, i shake my foot up and down really fast, and then when i go home and i do a fast beat, i get out of controll with the pedel, its weird, i would think that, that would help it go faster. does that happen to you??
@james80196 I haven't paid attention to exactly that but it would make sense since your training the same muscles and making them stronger with high & fast reps in class. If you could find a way to had a little extra weight on the tip of your foot you'd get more strength in return. so maybe its weird but it makes sense that it would help.
jared had me cracking up. i'm just like him, i can't do slide technique for my life, its actually embarrassing when people watch me attempt to do it lol heel toe ftw!!! ;)
Jared can do some crazy single-foot stuff, Sean has the fastest feet, but Dave just rapes them all.
