  • I've just installed more memory in my 2007 iMac but when starting it it stalls at the startup screen with the gear wheel spinning & it stays there. What can I do? Can you help me?

  • @tascha76 It seems like you have not installed the memory proparly in your iMac.

Make sure when you install the RAM you hear a click when popping it in otherwise you bought the wrong RAM for your Mac.

If it's the Mid 2007 iMac than you have to make sure you can only use up to 4 GB of 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.

  • You can actually go up to 6GB - see here:

  • won't allow me to post connection to site!

  • @Kidsonss No problem.Just send it to me via a YouTube message and I'll take a look.

    :)

  • @tascha76 Macs are dumb about the way ram is set up. You have to have two of the exact same ram. Example two one gb sticks and if it is dual processor you have to have one ram stick in each no more no less. The order you put them in matters as well so look that up.

  • I am an American living in Germany. Your English is really good. I've noticed that lots of english speaking Germans say 'opportunity' when they mean 'option'. I am very grateful to my german friends who correct my german all of the time and I figured I would lend a hand. Thanks for the video. It was a big help.
