  • awesome video. i think we can make 80;s funk tracks with this!! :D

  • @d3mrp0 the 909 is the most overrated drum ever. The DMX blows its away, so to does the RX5 and even this one has more charactor and potential.

  • Sp12 was the first..u gota get sp1200 to get your moneys worth..easy get blind sided if you dont know the difference..looks cool

  • How much are these going for now?

  • This video doesnt do the machine justice.

Sampling, Swing is exactly what he should have demoed.

  • @harrymerchant456 sounds like you have a video to make!

  • @Vuduman I dont have an Sp12

But come on dude, you can do better than this

Give it some Quality action :)

  • this is basically a next-generation Drumulator

  • Nice machine. Quite easy to find those samples and put them in an electribe or other hard- or software. However, those machines always have their own sound only available from the original hardware, plus the interface i think it has a good value. But, why do people record instruments with cameras i will never understand, get a mixer...thanks for the video anyway. I heard that Ultramagnetic MCs used this one quite a lot on the early records.

  • True :)

  • 909 is way better sounding :)

  • @d3mrp0 you could sample a 909 with this :)

  • @d3mrp0 You really have no idea what you are talking about huh?

  • i love the sp-12 even more so than the 1200 it's just appealing to me, i want to get one so bad! all i see people selling is 1200s though so if that's all they have out there gotta get one of them sp1200s too, but i am definitely getting an sp-12 preferably already upgraded to a turbo. anybody got one for sale

  • @OGKaine I suggest searching for E-mu SP-12 on eBay in music instruments, and saving your search. A few weeks from now you might get an email - its a dangerous way to feed music gear addictions tho!

  • @Vuduman True that, let's just say I am a vintage head. I can sit in my room with nothin but a turntable some records an cut on my thing an get busy. it's all done in the name of the love for this music. haha

  • you can have more than 8 samples you just have to copy ur samples 2 a different bank, delete the original sample, & keep going til u run out of time or up 2 32 samples

  • I have one that is almost like new. Only used since 85 till about 90 slightly in my recording studio. Still works prefect. I'd like to sell it, any idea on how much it is worth? I see the 1200s are being offered at around 2k.

  • @fdefede well I've seen a 1200 recently sell for a little over 1k so it depends if you want to sell it or just have it posted for half a year. I'm into letting the market decide what it is worth, being realistic you may get $500 right now for an SP-12. Why not let someone have it to enjoy making some music on it?

  • @Vuduman thank you for the information. I have gone ahead and put it up on Ebay. It is now for sale. Starting bid is only $50

  • tap tap tap tap tap tap

    muffle muffle

the sp12 shines even behind a tinny mic... but mate I hope you've had this beast since before they cost 100x more than a halfway decent mic or soundcard.

Nothing against your demo, keep em coming. I'm just a hater of poor sound.

  • @neolojism yeah, I had the sound up but the video mic really didn't pick it up. I wasn't about to spend 2 hours making a nice vid, maybe I should have for posterity

  • cool.
