All this move is a more complex version of James Brown step. Check the video "Out of Sight" by James Brown to see where Michael got it from. The more you watch other dancers like James, the more you realized most of Mike's moves were not so much original, but innovated, and more complex.

@10kamalfan Michael didn't invent the majority of his moves, they all came from other people/styles of dance. Michael created his own unique style of dance by blending elements of other styles. Each move has a history and origin of its own and almost all of them were around years before Michael was doing them.

Wow this is alot easier if you know how to do the moonwalk/3foot shuffle first! Wieght shifting is very difficult in michaels moves untill you get used to it, i got it in 15-25mins lol.

@faisy8 The smooth criminal lean was suppose to be an illusion but it really isn't, michael had very special shoes, that allowed someting (a hook) to hook on to them so when it came time for the lean him and his dancers would position themselfs and hook thier shoes in and that would hold them back from falling

1 first start with both feet side by side.

2 turn slightly to the right, shifting youre feet

3 do the lean!

4 move youre arms back to be able to do the lean better

This is actually done almost exactly right, except it's more of a back to front motion. And you pick up your left foot as you're bringing it back. Think of it, rather than a version of the tapping, as a combination of the right-left foot switch in "The Way You Make Me Feel," and the little heel-toe shuffle in the beginning of "Black or White" after he runs off the prairie into the sound stage.
