@ishadosi Actually only the 'Waltzing Matilda' section is Australian. 'Waltzing Matilda' is a term relating to soldiers dancing with Brooms because there were no women to dance with. The line is used in Traubert's blues to emphasise loneliness much like it is used in 'waltzing Matilda'. The poem/Song 'Waltzing Matilda' is about a Swagman who steals a Sheep and then jumps into a Billabong in order to escape arrest.
