  • @purplewaffles32 You should have caught em in their original lineup. Their stage presence and energy was INSANE. They took the stage and everybody was either jumping or getting whiplash.

  • @deckarate That's probably because you never listened to skillet when they first formed in 96. I played the album so much it began to SKIP so I bought another.

I of course assume this information about you.

Skillet has of course gone through major band line up changes and technological changes.

Remember this was recorded in 95 brah. Right about the time grunge and post grunge was it on a STICK.

John Cooper is the only remaining ORIGINAL band member from 96.

  • He needs some glasses, he's wearin' a tanktop not a robe.

  • love this song. old school all the way

  • i like this song!!!!

  • thanks for posting this

  • I REALLY wanna see em inconcert.

  • they are AMAZING in concert

  • wow they have gotten so much better since this song!

  • I agree invincible. I am not a big fan of their older songs but love almost all of their new ones on their recent albums

  • This song is very powerful. Its about picking up your Cross daily to follow Christ. The "Robe" is the outside appearence.

  • this is actually really good for a debut album, I may not like it as much as Collide and Comatose but for being Indie and this being there first album its still good

  • i like skillet a lot, but not so much this song...

  • ok... serioulsy... can't come up with a title for a song so you see a robe and go... HEY lets call it beautiful robe!! ? WTF! skillets awesome... but i hate this song. sorry. and i'm entitled to my oppinion.

  • bad name..... Great song!

  • The song correlates with Joseph's coat of colors (Hebrews). If you dissect the lyrics you'll find they have much depth and meaning.

All our righteous acts are as dirty rags. For man cannot enter the gates of Heaven through righteous acts but by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ alone.

For a man to say that he can achieve Heaven by himself, and that he is too good for our Lord and Savior's death, which has payed for our sins, this man is bound for Hell. Accept freely the gift given to you.

  • silly they do mention God but only using like you and other stuff like that, its more of and indirect thing you have to kind of look at the lyrics. Nice music tho, it came out when i was 2 years old i think

  • All of our good deeds are fithly rags in God's sight, due to our impenitrable sin. However, God can clense us of our sin. "By grace are we saved, not good deeds, lest any man should boast."

  • @L30NlTU5 you sir are correct amen

  • I love this song! =D It's definetly one of my favorites.

There later stuff doesn't really seem to mention God that much, though :/

(of course, all their CDs--1990s or now--are all amazing)

  • o i haven't heard this forever! oh man I love this band so much its insane lol

  • thnxs for uploading it :]

  • probably the least favroite song from skillet=(

  • oh come on, their first big hit no good??
