As an Aussie myself who spent two years in London we are used to concept of staying to the left & allowing people to pass on the right so when I got there is was an interesting adjustment.
Especially as the English drive on the left & people pass on the right so I never got why that etiquette was reversed for railway escalators.
Still the Tube pisses all over our Sydney shittyrail.
Good point... tourists should be sent on a short course before being issued an Oyster. I'd add one more rule, look where you're going and be aware of people behind you, i'm probably trying to get past and am ready to kill you for dawdling. Signs are big enough to be seen as you come down stairs and escalators, so there's no excuse for stopping and holding other people up. Check for way out signs as the train comes into the station, so you can avoid cluttering up the platform on arrival.
lol shes telling the truth. wenever im on the tube i do my best not to make eye-contact. which really is hard when theres some fit young girl opposite you lool
We do. A lot of people use them just probably not as much as in the U.K
We use cars more often. Uhm and it's not the empire anymore. And were not third world our quality of living is ranked third where your like in the teens somewhere.
us brits are miserable, but we are a damn sure more intelligent than the australians who all seem to be cut out of the same mold. Seriously how can one nation produce so many similar personalities? If i need advice on whats the best surf spot or whats the best jack jonson album is, then ill ask an australian. Anything else id be better off asking a dog.
@trigga1uk I know; can you imagine? She's got a cheek to be slagging off the English while she's IN London! And you're spot on about aussies. Simple people. They have nothing but negative commentary about London, but they all want to live there. Cheers
I wanna kiss her

It's not that complicated. I guess it's because you grew up in some third-world corner of the Empire. Don't they have trains there?

I'm tired of these bogan Aussies on their pissweak tourist visas carrying on like this - as if catching a train is the biggest deal.
