The weirdest feeling is when you do like 240+ and you drive in the right lane because nobody else is there. It feels so wrong :D
And to everybody whos coming to Germany and who wants to drive fast, stay in the middle lane in the beginning, driving fast is quite different. We don't want you to crash :)
Sometimes I drive onto the Autobahn at night on weekdays, accelerate to Vmax and keep the pedal floored for a looong time till the part without a spped limit is over!
You have to know, that only a small percentage is driving really fast...you can count them on two hands if you are driving. Normaly people are driving in a certain range between 100 and 160 perhaps sometimes up to 180.
this is the offical statistics of accidents in germany: it says there have actually been over 2 million accidents. anyhow, this number also takes into account minor damages. injuries took place in 188.000 accidents, of those there have been about 18.000 accidents on the autobahn in 2010.
@youhavequasp 2 millions totally but 18000 on autobahn. that's it. So it's a crapy comment. 50% of the network is witohout speed limit? that's crapy too! maximum 25%!!

Also, it's not the only place in the world without speed limits, the Isle of Man doesn't have any either outside of towns, which is a lot crazier since it's all single carriageway.
@shebotnov Ehm what? Where did I say otherwise? Where was I even talking about mortality rates? I was talking about how they lied in the video, yes Germany had 2,411,271 accidents in 2010, but on ALL of the roads, not just on the Autobahn. Obviously many of these were just harmless fender benders, only 3648 people died. I never said anything to the contrary. How about you go back and actually read what I said?

@fauffe After two weeeks in germany of nonstop fdriving in M3 V8. I have nothing but respect for the german drivers and the autobahn highway sytem. I drove fast responsibly and safely to the limits of my ability and the limits of car I was driving.
And I got the hell out of the fast lane after passing. This is number one rule and it is what makes the streets highways safer in Germany than the USA. How I miss the autobahn everytime I have to go around some idiot camping out in the fast lane like a self appointed pacecar.... lol what a fuckin liar. In Germany only idiots with no future and no life go on the autobahn and drive for their last time as fast as they can until they die. That's why German people cause so many accidents in other countries. They think they can drive 200km/h but allowed is 130km/h.
@whiteshark5150 in 2010: 2 411 271 (official) car accidents; 3648 killed and 62 620 seriously injured. But while the number of total accidents increased by 4,2%, the number of accidents with personal damage decreased by 7,2% (in comparison to 2009)

One must not forget one thing. In Germany you can purchase the license until the age of 18 and also in Germany there is a clear law that prohibits drinking and driving. Of course, fatal accidents happen on the highways because of the speed, but they do not stand on the relation of other accidents.

France, Italy and Poland also have over 4.000 kills on they roads last year - and they do have speedlimit on the highways...
Here's another statistic: 75% of all accidents happen with speeds below 80 kph!! Now, 2.8mio accidents can be seen in a different light: They're not caused by speeding.

So if you have a lorry in front of you (80km/h), you set your lights, go left and speed up.
actually the autobahn IS invented by hitler (or "the nazis"), but it wasn't therefore to give people the freedom to drive fast...more it was for tank or other military transport^^
oh and the "experienced racedriver" doesn't have the seat belt on ;)
Oh oh...
fact that germany have the best highways in the world, I travel frequently and is a pleasure to go 200 per hour ... to make it happen in my country ... eeee
fact that germany have the best highways in the world, I travel frequently and is a pleasure to go 200 per hour ... to make it happen in my country ... eeee
@renegad7 most of them don't die on the Autobahn. They die because of speeding on normal roads (speed limit: 100 kph), because they're drunk, because they are too stupid to drive, because of a slippery road, etc. Driving on the Autobahn is pretty safely
la mortalité e le meme qu'en france sauf qu"en en france on na pas le droit de depasser c'eest putain de 120 - 130 kmh ca casse trop les couille soit disant ca nous mes en securité mais qui veut se sentir en securité dans les autoroute de france
..and then you come here, and trucks take both lanes of the Autobahn, one at 55mph (80Km/h) in the right (slow) lane, the one in the left lane going 60.. There remain a few spots that you can dash along. But they are very, very few.
Overrated, I say.
One liter of ROZ95 fuel costs 1,54€ today, that is x3.8=5,73€ per gal., or, with today's exchange course $7,76. Suggest your car will do ~40 mls to the gallon at 60. That'll *easily* be ~20 Mls/gal at 100, and many only put ~10 mls/gal at +120 mph..
I was on a no speed limit highway in Germany, and I can say that is amazing. It was a lot of BMW cars which pass near me, like a thunder. WRUMMmmmmmm !
@ovidiu299 ye we know how to drive ;D not every fag here gets a driving license ( like for e. in the US. ) and it's also much more expensive to get a license here and needs much more practise! you also have to be at least 18 to drive without your parents! of course whe have some routes without speed limit but you are still responsible .. not everyone here feels this responsibility but one of the main problems are people from other countries who underestimate themselves
@guitarkillerboy Yes I saw that. German drivers are very responsable and relaxed when they drivie. I was 2 months in Germany (South, close to that big lake). I had time to observe you. :))
@guitarkillerboy You're right about the US & fags driving, lol! Too many goddamn idiots on the road here... not like in Germany. Of course there are idiots on the road in Germany, just not as many as in the US. In the US a fucking chimpanzee could pass a driving test, both written & practical.
Highest risk on the Autobahn: Tourists from the USA! Americans are eating, drinking, talking, laughing and much morre while they are driving. Germans are concentrated on the Autobahn, they know: My task is to drive the car. Nothing else.
@Fincut81 You say that about us, but how many Americans and Canadians do you really know? Most of us are good drivers who can talk and drive at the same time, but then there are the bad drivers who take it too far by talking on cell phones, eating or putting on make-up. Every country has it's share of bad drivers, including Germany, so I don't think it's fair to single out Americans
@Fincut81 Yeah, according to YOU. Just because it's the opinion of you and your country, doesn't make it true. All I'm saying is, it's not fair to say all Americans are bad, high risk drivers. You're just being biased and nationalistic.
Just search for "Americans freaking out on german Autobahn". They are giggling, laughing, screaming, shaking and so on. Thats typical for almost all americans. You have straight roads, automatic gears and sppid limitations. You also have no appreciable driving-education in almost every US-State. So dont tell my I am an ignorant nationalist. Americans CANT DRIVE according to germans, even there are some exceptions. True story.
@Fincut81 I don't really give a shit what you say or think. I'm not getting in a big argument over the internet over your one sided opinion. End of conversation
@Fincut81 Thank you for your opinion, too. I apologize for being so rude in that conversation, but even though I'm Canadian, I get offended when people speak ill of Americans as my girlfriend and some of my cousins are American. Happy New Year and all the best to you
I feel sorry too, I know I am rude sometimes too. There are for sure good drivers in the US or Canada, its surley not "genetic". its only the different Education and the very different traffic. Anyway, I dont want to blame anyone in an bad way. There is always a eye twinkeling :) If I could, I would share a beer with you :)
@Fincut81 I think we all just carried away when it comes to an argument between two very different countries. I would have a beer with you as well if I could. Cheers and good luck in the new year
Wooow we are allowed to drive 300 km/h and more.... is that freedom?

In Germany you have to drive on the right lane of the street (Autobahn).
We don't drink, type sms etc. while driving (that's because German cars often don't have drink holder)
and so the German Autobahn is one of the safest streets in the whole world. We are concentrated on ONE thing - driving fast and safe. And it works.

actually the autobahn IS invented by hitler (or "the nazis"), but it wasn't therefore to give people the freedom to drive fast...more it was for tank or other military transport^^
oh and the "experienced racedriver" doesn't have the seat belt on ;)
greetings from germany^^
CrimnlBT 1 month ago
@CrimnlBT
The plan for the autobahn was invented much earlier. Hitler was the one who realised this plan.

@Steckdose200 of course we invented the autobahn... in WW2 they also build the autobahn to use it as a start and land track for the airplanes.

Most parts of the German autobahn are very much out dated and suffer bad maintenance
sonnylatchstring 1 month ago
Yes, some parts of the German Autobahn don't have speed limit, but French highways are much better than German, German autobahn is kind of the old.

@renegad7 most of them don't die on the Autobahn. They die because of speeding on normal roads (speed limit: 100 kph), because they're drunk, because they are too stupid to drive, because of a slippery road, etc. Driving on the Autobahn is pretty safely

..and then you come here, and trucks take both lanes of the Autobahn, one at 55mph (80Km/h) in the right (slow) lane, the one in the left lane going 60..
That'll *easily* be ~20 Mls/gal at 100, and many only put ~10 mls/gal at +120 mph..

ovidiu299 2 months ago 7
@ovidiu299 ye we know how to drive ;D not every fag here gets a driving license ( like for e. in the US. ) and it's also much more expensive to get a license here and needs much more practise! you also have to be at least 18 to drive without your parents! of course whe have some routes without speed limit but you are still responsible .. not everyone here feels this responsibility but one of the main problems are people from other countries who underestimate themselves
guitarkillerboy 1 month ago

Fincut81 2 months ago 39
@Fincut81 You say that about us, but how many Americans and Canadians do you really know? Most of us are good drivers who can talk and drive at the same time, but then there are the bad drivers who take it too far by talking on cell phones, eating or putting on make-up. Every country has it's share of bad drivers, including Germany, so I don't think it's fair to single out Americans
Glockenator 1 month ago
@Glockenator
Trust me, its just like i said. maybe you're one in a million, but americans generaly can't drive acord to us. Don't cry, you make better burgers.
Fincut81 1 month ago
@Fincut81 Yeah, according to YOU. Just because it's the opinion of you and your country, doesn't make it true. All I'm saying is, it's not fair to say all Americans are bad, high risk drivers. You're just being biased and nationalistic.
Glockenator 1 month ago
@Glockenator
True story.
Fincut81 1 month ago
@Fincut81
lol, I meant speed limits.

@Fincut81 Thank you for your opinion, too. I apologize for being so rude in that conversation, but even though I'm Canadian, I get offended when people speak ill of Americans as my girlfriend and some of my cousins are American. Happy New Year and all the best to you
Glockenator 1 month ago
@Glockenator
