@acordero89 actually if its like the army then no if they phase it out and dont ask for it then you keep it if not you have to turn it in to be sold in DRMO and then if your cool with the person in charge of supply they might possibly mark it off the list for you then you keep it
gotta luv the assault pack my cousin who was in the marines and now vet gave me his pack i love it u can pack alot of stuff in it and is heavy duty material.
@Hiluxtaco The most common problem with 1st gen ILBE packs was that their small tooth zippers did tend to burst or simply break when the packs were stuffed to capacity. The 2nd gen packs have have larger and tougher zipers.
@Hiluxtaco Nice find! I would consider picking one up, but I already have this plus an ILBE Gen 2 main pack, so I'm pretty much set. (I got them together for $180 shipped ;) ).
It's kind of small for a BOB maybe a 1 day. But they sale them on grunt.com for 41.99. But opsgear.com has some pretty good bags as well. But great vid just start watching your vids wish I started way back.
get a spec-ops T.H.E pack. they are expensive as fuck but carry a ton and are nearly indestructible. and if the straps fail there is a lifetime guarantee.
I have 2 of the Gen 1 assualt packs off e-bay from different vendors, both in very different conditions. The main issue with them is when you wear them on a hot day the back has no area to allow air between the pack and your back and you sweat like crazy.
These where designed for hot climates and I imagine this would suck, I dont know if the Gen 2 has improvements on this.
I have the complete ILBE rucksack with this assault pack and the hydo bladder. I did a review on it a couple of days ago. Very nice pack and it carries heavy loads extremely well. I've got the Gen. 2. Mine was brand new. I paid $200 for it. They usually run $400 for the whole setup. It's worth it though if you do alot of hiking or camping. Don't expect to find a new one for $200. I have a friend in the Marines who got mine for me.
I dont understand why the hell they started making the straps permenant instead of replacable like the ALICE? I'm betting it is to make their buddies corporations more money but thats just me!
Are US Marines issued a pack similar to this one or not?

Can I get an update on this pack? Is it holding up? Have you blown out any zippers, stitches or anything?

OK, well.. thing is.. he constantly steals other peoples stuff to do reviews.. but I'll ask him anyway, there is always that chance it was really his

@GearBuyersGuide Lefty says in the video, "I ended up picking this one up off Ebay..."
So, I would assume that it is his. lol ;-)
.
Also, I really enjoy his reviews. So, if he wants to swipe other peoples stuff and film it, I won't tell anyone...

@Lonewolf6565 Yeah I've been looking at the T.H.E pack, it's a bit above what I'm willing to pay for a pack. That's why I like this one!
