Why do you use Throbak pickups and not the ones that originally came with the reissue? Are the Throbak pickups significantly different than the ones that came with the reissue?
that sounds incredible..best tone ive heard in a long ass time...are there EL34's or 6L6's in that....you are lucky to have such equipment, i mean the Bogner makes anything sound good but the R9 is just overkill...btw what are throback pups? who makes em'
Does the 4x12 Bogner Cabinet offer more Ohm selector things versus the 2x12? Because I've heard you need to change the Ohm selectors when you run the Bogner at half power.
@0ffMuhNuts No, it's the amp that has the ohm selector. If you run an Ecstasy at half power you lower the ohms on the head by half the value of the cab. For example, if the cab is a 16 ohms and you are running the head at half power you would set the ohm dial (on the head) to 8 ohms
There power tubes - the EL34's typically have more midrange growl and grunt and super buttery in the cleaner domains with nice brown overtones. 6L6's have a higher bright spot for the chimey cleans, a smooth overdrive, and get pretty metallic in the hi-gain territory. It's hard to really say THE difference because it's all dependent on the amp they're in. But basically, EL34 is vintage Brit-Grit, and 6L6 is smooth and silvery. If that makes sense.
I'm reading a lot of stuff and listening to a lot of demos of this amp but I'm starting to question... Can it give an aggressive Marshall sound while being able to give a smooth distortion such as the one in "Sweet Child o' Mine" ?
I have messed with the loop and it works great! The problem is that the TTE doesn't work at all in the loop so that's why I had to go with the other option.
Great sounding amp...and good playing.

@Alu122112211221 To me, the Throbaks are clearer and much more vintage PAD sounding...the stock burst buckers are really good though. I

For bands like Iron Maiden, Guns N' Roses, Metallica and AC/DC would this amp or the Marshall JVM410h provide a better sound?

How does the Soldano SLO compare to this amp?
Alu122112211221 2 years ago
@Alu122112211221 The Soldano is an awesome amp no doubt but it doesn't even compete in the same league in terms of versatility.

Whatcya using for verb/delay? Is it in the loop or pre? Nice tone I like it a lot.
Geoffguitar 2 years ago
Thanks! Believe it or not that reverb and delay are from Garage Band! I added it at the end.
mrcali68 2 years ago
Cool sounds great. For playing live have you played around with verb/delay stuff in the loop?

I run line out from the Bogner to my TTE and then off to my Blues Junior. Sounds fantastic!
