Good Riddance.... Im glad that ugly structure is gone from our City. What a useless demonstration. It was basically a Homeless shelter that wanted media attention. Get Jobs Guys.. There is a real life out there. I can't believe the City put up with them as long as they did. I would have dragged them out months ago.
@Taram53 well its either you can follow the crowd and let ur freedoms be violated or you can stand up for your libertys and get what is rightfully yours which is freedom. you say get a job there was alot of people that quit there jobs for this movement so they can go to a job that they got a education that is worthless with all the big company running everything I myself have a job but have still protested cause remember about judging a book by its cover
@akiefer1989 yes alot have very exspensive educations that they borrowed money for and wasted by persuing fields with not much hope of employment, arts, philosphy, the classics. I aslo wonder wht there gpa was? Speaking of follow the crowd why not start your own protest within the system instead of joining an american trend, run for office(municiple or provincial), but that might require more than setting around in a tent and whinning. That is if occupy supporters vote
Btw, a four-eyed, snot-nosed bastard was quoted in a oldmaison333 video as stating three were in the "encampment" as the chain saws were being used...CLEARLY that isn't the case, Davenport is a liar according to his own video....what a farce.
Davenport, don't worry dude Pumpkin picking season will soon be here and you will be able to go back to work and no longer have to resort to living is squalor.
Bunch of fucking dirtbags acting like hippies. Nobody paid attention to them, they were just wasting their time. Now they can go back to living on the street, where they all came from in the first place.
They should all go take a shower, get a hair cut,put their resume together and go get a job.
for the most part the ones not allowed in is because they are a threat to the other clients,...ive volunteered there....i agree there arent enough dollars to do what needs to be done to help these people but there comes a point in everyones life you have to stop blaming circumstances and other for your poor life choices...everyone makes mistakes but its what you do to learn from them that seperates the freeloaders from the people who need a helping hand
hahaha homeless shelter has a few openings ifyou're looking for a new home...perhaps you could volunteer at the soup kitchen and actually WORK for your food...
@treekiller842 That's not necessarily true. I've spoken to some homeless people who weren't allowed in because it was full. Pretty sad when we have people living on the streets, and no will to do anything about it.
Cheers to Mayor Woodside ! Should go build a hut across from Inving Oil or some of these big companies if u can t change the way the world is run try changing the people. This isnt Star Trek !
I challenge any occupier to give the address of their property ( I know , hypethetical , as these bums dont aspire to own anything ; they would rather mooch off others ) I have some friends who would love to set up a tent on your lawn , run an extention cord to your house , and releve themself on your house . I bet you I would get ALOT more support than you THINK you have .
I also find it interesting the occupiers use capitalistic benifits to push for socialistic ideals .
@TheSandTrap7 Well said. If these idiots think for a second they brought forth change then they are more delusional than I first thought. Btw, I know some of these derelicts, I've worked with some of them--well, until they got fired for job avoidance...bunch of losers.
@JIPALIG Exactly. Btw, notice Davenport says at 1:38 of the video that “this is my home”. Since when can we set up a shack anyway in the city and call it our “home”? This proves what I stated prior: just a bunch of homeless free-loaders living under the guise of a social “movement”. If this goes to court I hope his words get entered into evidence and come back to haunt him.
And nevermind TheHemlockExpress - he's in favour of deleting any comments on his videos that he doesn't agree with. Not really all that open to the idea of any debate, hmm?
Allow me to give Occupy Fredericton some free legal advice (and I'm not a lawyer, just an IT worker)
Section One of the charter states "The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject ONLY to such REASONABLE LIMITS prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society" I capped the main points so you can't miss them.
The very Charter you kids hope will save you, will crush you beneath it's heel
if theres one thing you dont understand about the union... is that any union dont give a fuck about anyone outside the union lol nice try tho... if you were so up to date with your cause you would know the mayor said to leave this day was comming the public wanted you out..believe it or not you only represent yourself not 99% of the population.. keep up the good work make a nice new tent outside of another building that doesnt care
The name of the person that uploaded this video pretty much says all that needs to be said. Please tell me that this is the last of these ridiculous camps...
To you sir, the individual speaking in the video, you do not represent me as part of the so-called 99% and you do not represent the majority of Canadians. Choosing to make your "home" in a public park is not your right. It is about time that you and those like you start to take some responsiblity for your lives and actually contribute...
@ryanpickerill I think you should tell all those folks in small communities who lost their jobs due to mill closures to get jobs. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you!
@kornnut43 They had a kerosene heater, which was inspected and approved by the fire marshal. Per his requirements, they installed two carbon monoxide detectors, a smoke detector, two fire extinguishers, and they mounted the heater so that it could not tip over. They also posted a safety sign explaining when to use and not use the heater.
If the Mayor was in the right, why didn't he take them to court? The protesters said they'd take it down themselves if a court told them to. That would have saved all of this drama and media attention.
Oh, and I heard the mayor called their protest signs illegal and had them taken, too. Why?
And why was a reporter from CTV not allowed to film them from city hall grounds, or even from across the street?
I'm a life-long Frederictonian, and completely support the Occupy Movements, but as far as I could tell, this particular encampment was not accomplishing anything. I have yet to see any evidence at all that Occupy Fredericton was doing anything but sitting in the tent with a few signs out front.
@GreenFenril Those papers were not eviction notices. They never used the word "eviction," nor did they state that anyone would dismantle the camp. Please get your facts straight before posting. Thank you.
I read the notice in full (thanks to Charles LeBlanc who had an image of the exact notice), and it says that you were given 3 days notice to pack up and leave. When you are in violation of a city bylaw, the mayor is within his right to enforce the bylaw. They don't need to have the word "eviction" or anything like it. You're just trying to weasel your way out. Not likely son.
I drove by this encampment almost 4 or 5 times a day, and I never seen a single person there. There were scarecrows holding their signs! Want to change something, put your boots on the ground and make yourself known, don't hide in a tent!
whoo hoo, about time they move, I wanted to take a picture of the Christmas tree, but this eye sore background ruining this. This protest reminded me very much of the 60',70' Vietnam war protest. Every once in awhile, we have stupid generation who sit on their ass and blame other people for their problem.
A misunderstanding of the relevant laws does not an illegal teardown make. The comment made about unions and picket lines is woefully uninformed and sets the stage for another 4 minutes of absolutely idiotic drivel.
The Occupy Wall Street movement had a lot of potential in the beginning, but then people like this came in, hijacked the movement, and destroyed the message. Those with a message (who started the original movement) got out when anarchists came in and began subverting the process.
That place was jsut a waste of space for crackheads to hang out at. No body was listening to you guys anymore. If yiu would have spent the time you wasted at "Occupy" trying to get a job you might be ableto make somewthing out of yourselves.. i bet your families were realy proud have someone homeless living in tents infront of city hall.. kudos
Thank god.

It's been said that you folks had the means to heat yourselves. Out of sheer curiosity, what was that source of heat?

Kid, when you learn about the legal system; then and only then, can you preach about the court process.
The right was given to those workers after the mayor handed you the eviction notice.
Seeking a court injunction is NOT the way the world should work kid. Deal with it.
The sounds of whinny losers seeing their camp crushed makes my day sooooo much better
