i used to listen to this years ago when i did not have children!!!! and it allways made sense to me!!!!! but now that i am a father to a 4 year old beautifull princess it is like a beautifful love story the kind of love so pure and perfect that can only exist between father and son or doughter... really mooving... through coping he gave us a beautifull masterpiece....................... Love you all... God Bless
With The Internet at peoples fingertips, it seems people would at least attempt to google for information to be certain it is correct before they post something. Eric Clapton's 4 year old Son Conor with Lori De Santo fell from a 47 floor window to his death. Mr Clapton had been clean and sober for sometime before this accident occured. Eric Clapton is CLASS all the way.
you have to realize why he wrote this song... i feel bad because his son died when he was fairly young while his dad was away. when he came back from a concert there were ambulances everywhere. he just walked away knowing his son had died. he wrote this for his son's death... :(
he wasn't at a concert. he was headed to the flat that Conor & his mom was staying in NY, that belonged to a friend of hers. Clapton was going to take Conor the the circus that day in the square gardens. and while Conor's mom was talking to the repairman, the nanny was suppose to be watching the lad while he
was playing and he fell out of the floor to ceiling window. i believe it was 53 floors he fell, while he landed on another small building roof....

having someone go to Heaven before you and wishing you could be there to visit them...you miss them so much... but would they recognise you... we have to keep going here on earth even though we miss that one so much. Leaning on the arms of Jesus is what I have learned to do over the years. I love this song....
