Crossing Guards? Where I grew up in the 1960's and 70's we had no crossing guards. We walked 5 miles in the snow and took our lives in our own hands crossing the highway to school. Also when in Lacey going to snap and poison everyone's food? Seriously I'll be her alibi if needed.
Gabrielle Miller, who plays Lacey, said in an interview a couple years back that she had just recently (then) quit smoking, which she had been doing for at least several years. So I wonder if this plotline isn't some inside joke (and a kinda cruel one!) the writers came up with.
Hank: "Hey, Oscar, I heard you're mentally handicapped."
Me: "Likely..."
Oscar: " I'm not MENTALLY handicapped."
Me: "Unlikely..."
Hank: "Sorry, I meant mentally challenged."
Me: "VERY likely."
