I saw the first run too!

I was a little bit too young to really understand it, and I'm soooo dissapointed because about three months after, I read the play and absolutley loved it, and then saw the film when it came out and I loves that too. I just wish I'd been a little older when I saw it on stage. :(

I saw its first run at the National, it's a bit odd seeing a completely different cast after the film and radio adaptation used the originals.

A genius play that mocks its own pretentions.
