Watching Dita perform via video pales in comparison to seeing her live. It's all the nuances that seduce you... the anticipation of her coming out on stage (and believe me, you wait, and wait, and wait!), the atmosphere, the eye contact, hearing her costume hit the floor when she peels it off (if you're close enough), the howls and screams from audience members. She is definitely someone to be seen live, though she rarely performs for public audiences anymore.

I could agree with both comments below. She doesn't really prove her prowess as a dancer, in fact I'd say the most skill I've ever seen her display is when she goes up on her toes in those pink ballet shoes in certain acts, occassionally achieving a near splits while removing her shoes and stockings.

Yet I don't think dancing is what her act's about. It's more about the personality or theme, the humour, the fun, her vibrancy and her own unique beauty. Although dancing could make it fresher.

Just getting into the entire Burlesque scene and I can not stop watching her (Dita). Anyway I will soon be embarking on learning the art myself so it would be interesting to have inside knowledge about the fact that it looks incredibly easy but is probably a very difficult art, and because of that I'm rather scared but utterly excited. I think for me aswell it's about gaining my confidence back and becoming a strong woman again...who knows maybe I'll find it this way ;)

It is true. Dita is sexy and beautiful. But not a great burlesque dancer by trade. She does do moves over and over to where it gets old. I had the pleasure to study with the lovely Michelle Lamour in Chicago and there is more to it than looking pretty and naked. Its an art to make each move unique and different. Not to mention the hours of hard work to put a piece together. Dita is beautiful, but does need to work on the actual dancing part from one burlesquer to another.

Anyone teachnically can sit around and walk naked and make money, if they have a halfway decent figure, but if they don't move right -- she thrusts her body with the right rythym, it's all in the way she moves herself. I think its funny that everyone calls her "classy". I think the look is hot and she has some great props, but shes not the best, she's not the first and really she's forgotten where shes come from.
