Knopfler stands above other guitarists in that he seems to understand the guitar as a musical instrument in a way other guitarists don't. He's a rare lead guitarist in that he makes the rest of the band sound better. He supports them and makes them better and doesn't merely use their playing to make himself sound better.

The drums at 8:28 in the solo make that little bit all the more enticing and delectable. I find myself going back to it time and again. This is probably the best video on YT partly because of how well the drums accompany the guitar all along... and especially in that bit. Everywhere else, they remain subdued.

6:42. The entire solo after that part is entirely amazing, and is a perfect finish for an exceptionally crafted song. I like the entire song but I've always been a fan of non-lyrical guitar, it has so much soul on it's own, that it's just amazing. Mark Knopfler has really left a great legacy and I hope I can one day see him live before he stops touring (He is quite old now).

This DVD runs 95 mins. But no traces of my favorite track… help me!!!

@townwood for some weird reason, songs are cut out from the DVDs. same verca in "On the Night" Basel 92, That DVD/CD didnt have Sultans. But all the songs where played when broadcasted on TV, so if you can find a DVD of the TV-Broadcast, You can See all the songs. Hope this helped :)

It contains Sultans… Just ordered it used… The quality should be perfect.
