  • these guys sound so good because their musical history is harmony. they know how to make a song work. neither one tries to dominate the vocal.

  • Missing you George.

  • 0 dislikes, thats the way it should fucking be

  • Oddly enough, this was one of the first videos I ever downloaded on the internet.

  • why do people whistle so loudly ?

  • Somehow these guys are perfect together on this song

  • Jjjj2828, from the beatles, to richie havens, from george harrison solo versions, i had missed this duet with paul simon. another great addition, to one of my favourite songs. up there with crosby, nash & paul simon @ the madison sq. garden concert.

  • George looks like an angel on this one.

  • What great sounds their voices and guitars have on this

  • that reminds me of the old day sback in the big apple

  • don't know how i missed this favorite song. paul works perfectly with george here.

his appreciation, his voice, so much respect for george, & a very sweet twist to a beautiful song. thanks so for posting.

  • @gratefultobealivegal You didn't know this song? Wow....If that's what you meant....I'm glad you do now, if you didn't ....Peace

  • two of my favourite people in the world singing one of my favourite songs. yeehaw.

  • Amazing that the Beatles had three song writers who would have had massive solo careers in their own right even without the Beatles....most bands today don't even have one!

  • Interseting to hear another iconic voice of the sixties singing this song

  • Like isn't good enough. There should be a LOVE choice.

  • This is my favorite performance of this song <3

  • When I watch these old films of George performing(and thanks to all who make it possible) I realise just how accomplished an artist George was, and how he was held in such high esteem by all who perform with him, or are indeed in his presence.

it just proves how big and suffocating being in The Beatles was, for them all.

    Brilliant.

  • reminds me of home long ago

  • I'd given my left ******* to have seen this live.

  • This is just...........WOW!!!

  • One of my favorite musical clips EVER! They sound so great together on both songs....GORGEOUS!!

  • I remember watching this way back. Catching a nice little buzz and checking out SNL. What a score that night was

  • They're actually sound quite good together--Simon and Georfinkel.

  • Absolutely stunning. I honestly don't know how somebody can just wake up one day and write something as perfect as, "Here Comes the Sun". One of the most beautiful songs ever written, IMO.

  • great!

  • I got George's autobiography in the mail the other day, normally the human qualities turn you away from the perfection of the artist. It just made me love him more

  • My 5 yr brother took one look at these two, one look at George, and yelled: "That's NOT Art!!! WHY is Paul Simon with GEORGE and not ART??!?!?"

I was impressed at his abilities. :D

  • WHAT DO YOU THINK: PAUL SIMON= 5th Beatle?

  • George's guitar playing is stellar on this. He nails it from top to bottom.

  • @rabbirach simon plays lead. paul simon was equal to harrison or clapton

  • @rabbirach allow me to correct that, the lead is shared.

  • This clip is from the Sat Night Live telecast. The intro is misleading as "also" doesn't apply

  • Well I'm only 62 but I like this better than I like Justin Beiber lmao

  • @uzpeep ...??? I'm only 14 and I like this better than Justin Beiber..

  • @uzpeep Me too! lol

  • To be under appreciated in one's own lifetime. Sadly, this sentence is a permanent part of George's life after death. He was a better SINGER than John and a better song writer than Paul. And the BEST musician of all of the BEATLES. I can't believe it's been nearly 10 years since he left us. And I miss him more every day. LOVE & PEACE TO ALL!

  • La mejor version de esta cancion es esta, se tuvieron que juntar estos dos Dioses para tocarla ...

  • If I could have known one of the beatles it would have been George.

  • @notnilccm Me too, without a doubt.

  • This version is so beautiful.

  • George's voice was just made for this song. I don't know how else to explain it.

  • @nafaidni

Or this song was made for George's voice, he wrote it for himself to sing! :-)

  • This video is required viewing at the Eastman School of Music. Considered a classic., And if you ask "where is that school, is it any good" then you know nothing about music.

  • @uzpeep pretentious

  • @sundownchasing.... nah just honest. Look up the definition. To be "pretentious" is to attempt to impress by implying a greater importance than is actually deserved. Eastman is ranked the number one music school in the USA, ahead of Juilliard. It is not pretentious to stress the importance of this video by stressing its stature at Eastman. It is of significance. My advice to to you is to purchase a dictionary and/or stop trying to act like a "holier than thou" know it all.

  • @uzpeep you don't need school to create music

  • @sundownchasing How true and I never said otherwise. However, to aquire the ability to write a complete sentence and remain on topic while avoiding tangential commentary; I guess you need to go to school. The implication [look it up in the dictionary I hope, because of my advice, you purchased] was that the artistic level achieved by Harrison and Simon was so high as to be studied at the Eastman School of Music.

  • @uzpeep Give 'em hell "peep!"

  • The Beastles, togrther and individually are the GREATEST song writing and singing musicians who ever walked the earth! Many are talented, some reign supreme. Paul Simon is certainly a talent and favorite of mine. His music is on a different plane than many others. Paul Simon is a great great artist who makes beautiful music.

  • Winter is Coming

  • Could everyone just STOP trying to get sympathy by posting their age! It doesn't fucking matter. Age is not a argument for liking any kind of music. If you enjoy the music, GREAT! But this is getting fucking pathetic!

  • @JPLV We aren't trying to get sympathy. You do realise that without the younger generation, interest in proper music will die out. We are doing you guys are favour.

  • good music comes from good people.

  • This was back when the music had something to say

  • SNL's music guests suck now. I miss the 70's. And I'm 15.

  • @TheFpuff Yeah man you're totally right. I'm only 12 but all of my favorite music is from the roaring 20's. I complain about this on youtube because I have nothing better to do.

  • Magnificent, Superb in its simplicity...

  • Comment removed

  • @taos55 SIMPLICITY?!?!

  • This would have been much better without Simon. George can do his songs alone just fine...

  • @whyyeseyec

I don´t agree, appreciating both these great talents. Didn´t you give it thought they might just have enjoyed playing some music with a friend? At the end of the day, that is what music is all about, sharing and joy.

  • They never, ever, either one of them, ever miss.........

  • did i just die and go to heaven or am i drunk? either way this is amazing! i can't wait till morning!!

  • Autotune fucking rocks!!!

  • ohhh,so beautiful.R.I.P.George Harrison,gone too soon,and again and again I miss you so much ,Michael Jackson.Come again,all of you.

  • I remember they showed this on SNL two days after George passed. My second favorite Beatles song ever.

  • Two fantastically sweet voices. The "Sun, sun here it comes" bit is specially beautiful.

  • Truly historic. SNL has a gem here.

  • it would have been cool if george did a solo "folk" album.......just like the song apple scruffs.....the entire album would be basically "unplugged".....just reverb

  • Thanks...... Two MASTERS

  • loveandmissyouGeorge! oxoxoxox

  • Best of memories from that time. 2 great artists, together!

  • I watched them perform this live on SNL back in the 70s. I've been looking for this video for years. My eternal thanks to beatsound38 for posting this. This brings back some great memories.

    RIP, George.

  • Thank you for uploading this!

  • This is not the original key for this song. The original was in A. This is in G. Perhaps to accompany Paul's range.

  • Wrong...the original key is in E....

  • @NonStopRocker Here comes the sun as recorded by the Beatles is in the key of A. I am not wrong I play it on guitar myself. The guitar uses a capo on the 7th fret. The first chord is a D shape but because of the capo it raises the key one fifth resulting in the key of A. George and Paul simon are playing the song with a capo on the 5th fret wich makes the song in the key of G

  • Your right...im wrong....my bad...I play it too with the capo on the 7th fret with the D shape just as you describe......I dont know why I was thinking E....but you are right....sorry..!

  • @NonStopRocker No problem we all make mistakes. No need to fret over it. Ha! get it? fret!

  • @NonStopRocker well please cry over it a little bit more

  • who pulled your string idiot and what the hell are you mumbling about?

  • Oh my God thanks so much for this. I've been trying to find this video. Two of my favorite songwriters of all time!

  • RIP GH

  • My God, that's amazing.

  • I always liked Paul's work with the Beatles. :)

  • what can u say just great. i seen it live never forget that.

  • George Harrison is unrecognizable!

  • @FrankyDooDy0 really??

  • @pageyzoso Yes! Maybe because the image is unclear, but also that I know him well with "short hair-no-beard" and "long-hair-and-beard", but not with "long-hair-no-beard" ^^
