These graphics are super awesome! are they from a recent console or are they from the super famicon? we were stuck with stupid ass 8 bit graphics here in the USA but no matter what! the music was still awesome!
So basically, instead of going from the "Final Boss" to the "Even Stronger Optional Boss", your going from "Final Boss", to the "Even Stronger Optional Boss", and then going to "Vastly Improved Final Boss".
Your challenging yourself to see if you can beat Zoma with the Ball of Light, then to see if you can beat Divinegon, and then to see whethor you can beat Zoma without the Ball of Light.
I just thought it was really cool how it was the "Final Boss" that was the strongest for once!
Acutally, one of the really neat things about Zoma is that he pretty much counts as his own "optional boss" in a way.
You see, I know that Divinegon is the official one, but if you take a look at Zoma when you have not used the Ball of Light on him, I think some of his stats are SUPERIOR!
Not only that, but while Divinegon has a fairly good chance of going twice, Zoma is ALWAYS going twice. Also, Zoma uses "Freezing Waves" FAR more often than Divinegon, and even has maxed out agility.
DQ III is the most entreaining DQ series I ever played n_n, specially with the relation that has with the anime. (The heroes of this game, and the music of the map) I love a lot this game. Highly recomended
Ah, oh man, Zoma....one of the ONLY two RPG bosses to EVER require me to restart more than two times...
Actually, I think I actually had to try NINE times before I actually beat him! The only other final bosses that even came close was the Shadow Queen from Mario: The Thousand Year Door, and Gallian from Lunar Legacy.
god i wish rpgone would hurry up and complete this translation. damn these graphics look much better than dragon quest/dragon warrior 7 its quite sad. and i've always wanted to play this game but cant stand the colors of the gameboy version or the stupidity of the controls on the nes version (having to select door to open a door)
either way i wish they would hurry up and finish the translation because the snes one looks so freakishly good. either that or they should make one on the DS or PSP. that would be damn good
Zoma on the GBC is so easy. Even without the Light Orb, you could easily bash him given the proper party.. especially when you consider a party of "Hero-Sage-Sage-Sage" at level 99 to be proper.
The most hilarious way to win this fight is to kill him by chucking Medical Herbs at him. The cheapest and weakest healing item in the game does a ridiculous amount of damage to him if you target him with it. Of course, this applies for any healing spell or item, but it's funniest with Herbs.

actually, you have to go item-key-use to open a door. DW4's innovation was the 'door' command!

Zoma is still a tough mo'fo after bathing him with the light sphere.
Nice video. Zoma's battle is probably one of my favorites together with DragonLord and Orgodemir.
It's truly too bad that this version of the game never got translated.

there's a fan translation in progress :)

Yeah, but last time I checked it was stalled :(

Actually, there's another translation project that's nearly complete. There's a topic about it at the GameFAQS SNES Dragon Quest III message board.
