actually. the reason people self mutilate is because it works. once you start the cutting process it becomes something of a drug. the first time you cut your body releases endorphins which kill emotional pain. soo... you rely on it for every emotional pain you have and you continue to do it. you begin to use it as a crutch to help yourself through anything and everything. thats why people do it.
