Hahahaha, I love how all the monkeys in theses DK games used to have such a "fresh prince of Bel-Air" attitutde to them. Know what I mean? its like they were hip black guys. And now Nintendo is like, "holy shit we don't want to make it look like these monkeys are n***ers" and they changed their personality completely. Now DK is like a mix between a goofy clown and a bad-ass jungle beast. He used to be a black man on with a tie. So, I guess Nintendo had to kid-iffy everything. It makes me sad
@KostaVV lol! That's a good point. How bout that monkey rap? Though I would say Dixie is more like a blonde haired rock n roll white chick than a black person, lol
where the hell is RARE?? i know its xbox exclusive...but what have they done recently??? yeah.. NOTHING!! nintendo would have SUCCEEDED soooo much if they were the ones that had bought RARE!
this is one of my favorite tracks in the game...just instant epic hiphop like jam and then mellows out to a beautiful piano solo...followed by the harmonica solo... ohhhhh my
Seriously, when I hear this, you get the feeling of being where the characters are in the game. One thing games can't seem to do today, man I had a great childhood.
@ChickenConPolloHD yeah haha, I only liked about two levels, I hated the stupid idea of blowing at flowers and other stuff and the idiotic ground pound too, those things just slowed down the game and you needed to do them if you wanted to find everything as opposed to the other DKCs in which you could only jump, roll to attack enemies and throw the other kong around. To be honest I hated the slow pace of the game, the only levels I liked were the flying barrel ones...
@pescalante2 Actually now that you point that out, your right. I did not like the blowing of the leafs and the ground pounding. That did slow it down, also I hated how you could play as diddy unless it was 2 Player. Oh well, I stilll iked it, heres hoping for a 3DS Version of Donkey Kong Country.
The lava levels were not that difficult but I used to lose a lot of lives there as all I did was listening to this wonderful soundtrack and so I couldn't concentrate on the game ...
oh no, someone disliked this, and a fanboy got mad, then another fanboy got mad at the shamer, and now I am shaming everyone for getting so worked up over opinions over a video game song.
Steven Jobs has passed away, and Microsoft is bigger than Apple. All the iDevices are not as good as Windows simulated envioronments of pure nolstalgiac bliss.
I really, really loved Donkey Kong Country when i was smaller, never got to play the second one until about a year ago. Goes to prove how good and timeless these games are because i absolutely loved every minute of it. The music and atmosphere are as enchanting as the first one and for some reason i felt like a child again whilst playing it...bringing back some memories that i didn't even have linked to the game (because i'd never played it before).
@SPKB81 yeah! and have diddy and dixie and actually have them swim this time. definetly all the music in donkey kong country 2 is iconic and must be in the next game if they make it :)
@OverObsessiveNekoBoy exactly how i feel!! why why!? hahaha, :(. but you know what my hopes went up a little because at E3 convention they showed a type of gameboy that plays super nintendo games. it's going to be released this year. look up on google it's called the SUPABOY and they have some videos of this on youtube. super nintendo!!!
Esta cancion me recuerda cuando con mis primos jugabamos DKC2 los sabados por la noche y cada vez que jugaba, siempre perdia en la etapa de los Globos aeroestaticos y la de Animal Antics xD
@Ze33roX That would be terrible, DKCR might have been a decent game, but the soundtrack was disgraceful because it didn't have David Wise reprising his role as composer. That alone is enough to keep me from ever playing the game itself, and if they do make a sequel following Returns, if Wise isn't returning in that one, that would be a travesty, an absolutely disgusting choice if they won't try to request his composing skill for the second time.
@qazxsw13 I know, David Wise is Godlike ♥ and i hope he returns in the sequel, but I think Retro did a very good job on the soundtrack (i mean the new ones, not the remixes). Songs like Weighty Way, Furious Fire, Mine Menace, the final boss music, etc, all of them are amazing :) Sorry for the bad english.
@Ze33roX If English is not your first language, this post shows very little indication of it, as it's better than many who post for whom English actually is their first language.
@qazxsw13 I love video game music as much as anyone else, but what you just posted here was abhorrently absurd. Basically on the level of graphics whoring. But maybe worse.
@LyfSukz Sorry, but remixes don't cut it for me, I won't insult the game itself, because I'm sure it's great. But when it comes to a legendary soundtrack, one as glorious as this, I hold the belief that only a composer of such magnitude should return to reprise his role as the composer, especially after trying to revive an equally legendary series. I know it's rather irrational, but hey. David Wise, great composer among many.
@qazxsw13 I know how you feel. It's not easy to let go of a great past.
Take the new Mortal Kombat for example. It's got some good tracks, but most of them aren't terribly noticeable. Thankfully, there's an option to play the Klassic Music for any of the old stages. If they at least had that option in more games, people would still enjoy the games and their soundtracks.
In the first lava level in the game,if you not ''kill'' Squitter in the cartoon, when you win the area, will have the Kongs a golden boom box and a golden guitar! (Jump when you leave Squitter)
I love the fuzzy sound in the background, it´s like this was recorded in a volcano. It sounds great musically, too. And while I´m at it I might as well point out that the name rocks. Hot-head bop. How awesome isn´t that?
Ahh back when game themes weren't a technoish heavy rock kind of tone. I absolutely love this theme, it's just a rush to hear it. I think I'm going to go play this game again to rehear all the music.
This song perfectly captured the sounds and feeling that these lava levels gave you, and at 1:10, it just gives you hope that you can survive this and rescue DK.
