I think because parts of tonys car hit johns and he forgot to pull the chutes.

sounds likely. but i just thought bout this. what if he decided to keep going straight to keep from hitting him when he turned at the end of the track. force prob. didnt realize that he had slowed down behind him.

you wouldnt want to keep going straight you would want to slow down as much as you can so that you have greater control over the car.

I was there. John pulled the chutes late because he had said that before the finish line, pieces of Pedregons car were shooting through Forces car. He forgot to pull the chutes

There is a new coating they now use since robert hights explosion last june. I hear the stuff goes on the underside of the funny car body. You can tell which cars have it ...it is black underneath when they open the body. This was the same explosion as Robert's and his car burned to the ground. It looks like this carfire goes out in around 2 seconds...anyone know what the stuff is called?

I was in the stands at the starting line. You could tell from the fireball a quarter mile away that something went very, very wrong. Luckily Tony was OK except for burns on his hands.
