I was wondering if you have perfect pitch, relative pitch or both. I've been trying to teach myself both. Is it even possible to learn, or is it something your born with. What are your thoughts of those various ear training courses (e.g. Perfect Pitch Ear Training Supercourse, or Pure Pitch Method) Thank you

I have no absolute pitch (I don't recognize if a sound is a C note or a F note for example....but I get easily a melody, then intervals between notes), so that's relative pitch I guess. Anyway, I never trained on ear training...In my humble opinion, listening a song and play it on your piano is much far productive, and you can do this by yourself...That's just what I think(not an absolute opinion, just relative :-D)

and please one more. can you suggest something to piano beginer? here nearly a year ago you inspired me to start with keyboards (earlier i played a guitar) .and i bought one not expensive under the firtree. so maybe there are some useful exercises which help to make hands play independent or to untie fingers..and is there something except practice which help to hear what key to press to sound needed note? what helped you to become XXL pianist?

I got over those things through some tough piano sheet music from one Dohnányi. It's called "Essential Finger Exercises for obtaining a sure piano technique" and basically contains of all kinds of finger exercises that make you want to bang your head against the wall, like holding 3 of 5 fingers down and using the other two to simultaneously form a melody. Frustrating but effective.
