The 9/11 play of destroying WTC was played by Bush and his allies for capturing the global fuel reserves as has been exposed by media a no of times. But unluckily he isnt able to get to these fuel reserves as easily as he thought. Rather the fuel prices have jumped up above $ 110 a barrel which was around $ 40 a barrel before this U.S barbarism. Having McCain succeed as president in the U.S election 2008 is a part of this barbarism which Bush wants to be continued destroying US economy totally.
"Considering that Senator Obama voted to suspend the gas tax three times when gas cost less than $2 a gallon and has an energy lobbyist chairing his Indiana campaign, it's hard to take his latest criticisms very seriously."
Obama voted for gas-tax relief in his state senate and now he is against it when people need it the most? He says Hillary only has tricks and he is the only one with long-term plan.
Such lies, Hillery has better long-term energy plan than he does in addition to her short-term relief with the oil profits going to highway fund, preventing price gouging.
Obama is nothing but a lying politician who will saying anything to make himself look good, including calling his own grandmother a racist.
Oil companies charge according to their busines model, not the after tax on their goods. They make about 9 cents on the dollar which is a far less percentage than Mcdonalds or produce at the grocery store.
The gas tax holiday will save people far more than 28 dollars. The holiday gives a 22 cent break to truckers, who at the moment are hurting because of the increase in gas prices. It they don't get this break they will have to pass the increase on to the consumer. The price for everything will go up, especially food.
Also, if this break helps to prevent a full blown Recession then the tax revenues saved will be far more with the break.
this video is retarded. what does a tax holiday from 2000 have to do with the prices of gas in 2008? answer: nothing! you know how much a tax holiday will save drivers? dicksquat! where do you think that lost revenue will come from??
Exactly. Not to mention theres no reason oil companies won't simply just raise prices 5% for those months. God, who buys into these garbage gimmick policies..
Proof that Clinton & McCain (and their supporters) know nothing about economics. The only way to lower the gas price is the lower demand. The best tax plan for that would be increase sales tax on cars/trucks that get less than avg25mpg and make any car that gets more than avg40mpg tax free for a year.
Your video has no arguments worth the time it took to post them.
Obama has pointed out, as you conveniently failed to include, that the gas tax holiday would save you roughly $30 over the 3 month period and would stop supplying the fund to maintain roads and brides, which would also result in 7000 job losses.
Clinton's proposal would drain money away from the fund to develop alternative energy, which are ultimately what will bring gas down.
Way to present both sides of the argument. There are good reasons not to suspend the gas tax for three months and many economists agree it would be a bad idea. People, please do your research before you jump to conclusions based on impulses. Just because an idea sounds good on the surface doesn't mean there aren't harsh implications underneath the surface. Like most things, this situation is more complicated than it looks. McCain and Clinton support this idea for political reasons.
Usernames like skdjhfjhse, asdlkfjasdlk and skfhsdfsd don't exactly look like real people posting user-generated content and they're not. When asked about it, the RNC admitted that it had made the videos itself and posted them online. Why not post them under the RNC's official YouTube channel? Well, the RNC claims that it's because these weren't television ads, which is also the excuse it gives for not including a "the RNC is responsible for this ad" disclaimer in the videos.

On a state level a gas-tax holiday works because the increased demand in one state won't drive up prices much, it's a net benefit. On a national level, a tax holiday will result in higher demand which will drag gas prices back to the with-tax-price only now instead of that money going to maintain our roads it will go to the oil companies instead (the consumer savings would be insignificant compared to the gift this would be to the oil companies). It's bad economics.
First of all quit whining, the price is where it is going to stay until the demand goes down. And if it forces us all into smaller cars so much the better. We are paying the price the world has been paying since the 90's and they have dealt with it by driving less and driving smaller cars.
Wow I wil save $75 during the summer!?! great, we'll worry about the supply part in the fall, right before the election.
BTW these fake Youtbers are RNC shills. NOt making that up, they admitted it.
gas tax holiday will mean higher prices, why? More consumer demand
Gas tax holiday will mean higher deficits, why? Money will need to be put into highway fund to make up for gas tax loss and will be dradined from other parts of the government
Agree, McCains tax holiday is extremely short sided & won't put that much money back in our pockets, especially, when the states end up with less money to pay for the things that must be done re: roads, bridges, highways. Then the state just raises the taxes on other things. Really people, doncha just think that corporate greed is behind the high price of fuel??? If that is not addressed by all of the politicians, nothing is going to change.
Why don't you show why Obama thinks it's a bad idea? Is it because you are afraid that the people that view your video might actually use their common sense and realize that McCain is on this idea?

Illinois state policy is not necessarily convertible to US Government policy. So, he voted for to suspend state taxes, but they still would pay sales tax right? (I'm an Oregonian, I dunno how the sales tax thing works). Without knowing a whole lot about the situation, it seems to me like he learned from the mistake of doing it in 2000.

I can't help but notice that the pro- Obama and anti- tax holiday supporters that have commented here are not US citizens.

All their countries have horrible economies and make the US situation look good.
Why do you suppose they don't want a tax brak for Americans?
Shouldn't they be trying to fix their own screwed politics?

.18 cents off of a $4 gallon of gas here in California is not addressing the problem.
It's a band-aid and a small one at that.
We need solutions to drop the price by a dollar or more.
Also, that tax is what's paying for roads and bridges to be maintained.
Where is that money going to come from?
It's a short sided solution.
