    You drive there from Dubai. Fujairah is on the other side of the peninsula. It faces away from the gulf (Dubai on the other side, faces inwards to Iraq). It is a long dive & takes about 3 hrs (iirc). The land around Fujairah is like a moonscape. I went there in 2002 when a friend working for Dubai TV had organized teams to film an ocean boat race that went up & down in front of Fujairah Beach. The place is rather barren but the moonscape land is intriguing.
