@AnnastamRules The physical memory (or core file) is a snapshot of the kernel containing all of the program text, data, and control structures that are part of the operating system. When a system crashes, the physical memory is written to the end of the swap slice of the disk. Although the system writes a core file whenever it crashes, it does not save the crash dump file unless you configure the system to do so.
i had an RSOD once it said something like ERROR a program caused windows to restart 10x0000000 beginning memory dump the source was some Antivirus 2009 program it was the ULTIMATE VIRUS not even system restore could fix tried deleting from control panel and defragg ing it after i was done but after defragger it was BACK
wow this kid has no life if he over clocked his computer enough to cause a rsod by playing some game so now he has to replace his card and whatever else he killed
@killersof94 It will not be caused by overclocking. This is maybe related to buggy drivers and stuff. If it is a hardware problem, you would get a Blue Screen of Death
From what i know the red screen death does not occur from normal microsoft windows failures but from hardware failures. After a red screen of death sometimes hardware components could be broken (like your processor or gpu) so it's much more harmfull than a blue screen of death and should be avoided in any case.
I'm so much more use to the blue screen of death. There is easily a way with vista that if you do ctrl, alt delete, task manager twice and end csrss.exe you get the blue screen of death but how can you get the red screen of doom without playing some game? vista home basic 32 bit
well how can you change the color? on vista if you do ctrl, alt, del, task manager twice and end csrss.exe you get the blue screen but how do you get the red screen? the red screen in this didn't dump physical memory and reboot like the blue screen of death does.
ummm... this isn't a bsod... blue screen of death... obviously this is a red screen of death... rsod... microsoft should make a screensaver for it... a vista version of it.. but yes it possibley can mess up your computer any way... but if you mean the blue screen of death on vista... ctrl alt del, show processes from all users, end csrss.exe... that won't mess it up... i've done it before
From what I gathered online, the RSoD is for when an error occurs that could have seriously negative effects on your machine. You said you were overclocking? THat's when I got mine also. The CPU and the GPU. Got my machine stable, but this is for real for sure.
Since then, i've upgraded to a kickass machine with a Core 2 quad, 4gb RAM and a nVidia GTX 260, which is too badass for the cheap PSU. I should be getting a sufficient 750w but i'm only getting 550w, which is enough for Vista, Firefox and WinAmp. Oblivion still doesn't work, however.
two years ago i bought my laptop and it had vista home basic but 512 mb of ram and i upgraded to 1 gb and i love my laptop. it's just so fast and awesome.

the rsod is caused because it must have been a vista build before vista was finished
oddysea682 1 year ago
this is like the bsod, but just a new color. Something must've changed.
a rsod would be worse

Huh, good thing i don't bother with overclocking
(And i still use XP. 512mb of ram+Vista is a big time NoNo.)
