Monarchies are considered the best form of government for the soul reason they are strong, well structured, and above all effective.

No, people don't have many rights, but if the sitting monarch is good hearted like Elizabeth I (thought scots will disagree) then it can be just as good as a democracy.

Its not the form of government its the people who ran it in the days when monarchs had absolute power. Some monarchs did a LOT of good with their power.

the monarch (which she is) used to be the ruler of the country and therfore would be on the money. When the parliament was created, it wasn't to replace the monarch, just to prevent them from having absolute control. More and more power has been given to the perliament over the years but 'technicaly' it's her governement and she has to ok alot of the big decisions. She has meetings with the prime minister and the privy council every week or so to discuss everything.

Her Majesty is the most important person in the United Kingdom. If there is a world wide disaster of some sort, she and the Royal Family are the first in the helicopter on their way to the safe house, not the parliament.

Its such a pity that our queen has been stripped of almost all power. I am glad, however that she retains some of it.
