the cost to the american people is what is interesting, I dont know if you know this but in our country , thanks to your congress and govt. agencies we are still paying an exhorbitantly inflated price for every pill which goes into our mouth...much more than the cost in canada, great britain or australia....they have deals worked out with the drug companies that we are not privy to...we pay full price!... which is why our system is going bankrupt and an aspirin in a hospital cost so much

hey hon, you hit the nail right on the head....its called the pill mill and the big pharmeceutical houses like pfizer and glaxo know they've got a goose and golden egg racket going here ...they are going to ride until it explodes or dies whichever comes first, your doctor meets once a week with his pharmacy agent and gets filled in on whats new for the week, he just rubberstamps whatever he hears because nobody can hold that much info in one brainand so the cycle goes on and on

There is a perfectly good reason for the "see your doctor" disclaimers. Let's say a new drug comes on the market which cures breast cancer for 99.99% of sufferers but for the rest it just has terrible side-effects. The 0.01% are likely to sue and if successful could win tens of millions. The doctor is essentially an intermediary immune from prosecution provided the information he/she gives the patient reflects the current state (including known risks) of medical knowledge. Follow?

Actually, I do know this syndrome! One of the actresses in a show I was working on had that something fierce when she was pregnant.  It was miserable for her. The only way she could alleviate it was to sit in a rocking chair for hours on end. luckily it stopped when she had her baby. Should have told her about the elvis treatment, might have been more fun dancin!! ;)
