I watched this movie as a child, and loved it. Didn't watch it again until last year. It's one of the saddest movies I've ever seen, but such a sweet sadness.

I watched Fly Away Home again, with a friend, we're both male and grown-up, and we were sitting there, crying tears. Good we had some Kleenexes there. Geese are god-like, are so inspiring, magical, majestic creatures. I adore them. And Mark Isham transports the grandeur of geese fantastically with the soundtrack. The intro song by Mary Chapin Carpenter is also a real tearjerker. One of the best movies Hollywood has ever done.
this song makes me think of my younger sister's ex-boyfriend because he's in the army and he's engaged and going to be married sometime this year but soon after that he's going to be shipped to Iraq.
Oh, my mp3 I have in my winamp playist is 6:13 long... here it stops with the" lonesome dove.... she's weeping FOOOORR... her own true love..... as I shall weep for mine! " pity it stops in this video. Great song in the extended version :)
every year me and my mom watch fly away home when the geese start flying south and i tear up within the first 3 min but this is my life time fave song
It's soo sad. It was playing while I was at a pool and I was thinking of my mom the whole time. Shes not dead but it's just the memories we have cuz we'd watch this movie all the time. :) :'( makes my tear up
She sang this at The Concert For America at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, a benefit for the victims of 9/11. Such a beautiful tribute. I tear up whenever I hear it.
my boyfriend deployed almost 2 months ago and this is his song he sang it to me the morning before he left and told me even though he was going away that he will be back and for me not to be sad this song always makes me cry
My favorite movie I would love to watch with my little girls. This song is the most incredible breathtaking song. My baby girl is in college and she just sent me this song to watch cuz she know it would touch my heart. That is love.....and I miss her terribly......God bless
