We played Throwdown in the '87-'88 marching season in high school. Awesome. We then followed it up with the Brass Machine. Then we had a cool drum feature and closed out the program with Auld Lang Syne. What memories the opener on the video brought back for me. Go Ridgewood - the Pride of Pasco!!!
My high school band, Mt. Miguel in Spring Valley, Ca. opened with THROWDOWN in '92. That was during the glory days of our band. It was one of the best we had in my 4 years. I never thought I would find it again on youtube. Thanks for sharing.
the intervals in some formations were off, at around 7:18 when the trumpets come in there is a piercing sharp couple of trumpets. It was an ok performance, 03 and 02 were our best years, my last year in 04 was so so...if it wasnt for the awesome choice of music, this performance would have been rated a lot lower in competitions
you took all the funk out of throwdown! good job regardless, but that's the best part.

Who knows the composer of "Throwdown?" I too played it during the 87/88 season in college marching band but cannot remember who wrote it!

this is one of my ALL TIME favorite opening songs for a halftime show. my college band played the same opener, THROWDOWN, back in 87/88.

Holy crap...our forms are BAD...even the flag work isn't together. I mean, we did well, but still...yikes forms.
