  • Great documentary of a lifestyle that is simple and good.

  • @cscdigitalgraphics Thanks for your kind comment, there are many more such films from our village on my site. Best to you, Andrew

  • Nice work...liked it

  • A different way of life....a different mindset....a different sense of freedom

  • Really enjoyed this film! You do good things by getting down on film what may become a lost way of life. Ironic, isn't it? when so many are wanting to go back to simpler times. Ah, what I wouldn't give for a bite of that fresh cheese!

  • @mikwid Thanks for your comment. This film is part of a growing series of films, 36 to date, documenting changes taking place in our small Croatian village. I hope you might find some time to view others. You might like the one on distilling plum brandy! Oh, and by the way, the cheese is excellent. Thanks again

  • @mikwid Thanks for your comment. I am trying to film as much as I can from our village. If only I had had a camera 20 years ago, it was like a different century then. Still, better now than never. My site has many more such films from our village if you are interested. Best to you, Andrew

    P.S. That cheese is wonderful.

  • it sure would be fun to pull tits for a living. simpler times.

  • This is great, thank you for making this video as I have never see the whole process of milking a cow before! Never know the while milking the cow, the cow eat grass at the same time, so cute !

  • @myunicon Thank you for your generous comment. Yes, the cow munches grass to keep it happy while being milked. This film is one of more than 35, or so, films made in one small Croatian village, if you are interested please take a look.

  • In the words of the now largely forgotten humanitarian Linda Ellerbee, "And so it goes.".

  • kitteh luVs real mlik...

  • wow~ lots of work but i'm sure well worth it :) nice to see the tradition still alive somewhere!!

  • @greenyeyes77 You are right, it is well worth the effort though sadly it is a tradition that is dying out here. Thanks for watching, though.

  • Huge video as always. Very interesting transient world. Thank you!

  • Like very much this moments, thank you.

  • Very Nice! Great video! Enjoyed every aspect of it! What language is she speaking? Where was this shot?

It takes me back to my Ukrainian Grandmother's kitchen when I was growing up.

I never learned the language. Whne they thought I was learning it ... they stopped speaking it. (It had been a good way for them to argue when I was around.) ;)

    Sherry

  • @sherrywine1941 Do try making the cheese, if you have an opportunity, it is surprisingly easy. Thanks for watching my film and commenting.

  • Very nice.

  • That Was Great Really Enjoyed Watching Your Video ... Thank You For Sharing It With Me : )

  • @yesitsme173 Glad you like this film. Best to you, Andrew

  • Real Milk :)

  • What kind of cheese would that be called? I'd love to try to make it and eat it if given the opportunity.

  • @caseinpoint1 Our neighbours make two types of cheese, a fresh soft one and the one you see in the film. I don't think it has a particular name, we just call it 'tvrdi sir', or hard cheese. It is dead easy to make, as you can see. Worth having a go. Thank you for watching.

  • Lol wtf was that song

  • @MrKevinddddd The singing you heard in the film was quite traditional. The songs were improvised and would often involve people grazing their cattle in a different field. Sadly, one rarely, if ever, hears this type of singing anywhere now. One can only hope for a revival sometime. Thanks for watching

  • @andrewnorris2 Croatia !! At first, i was thinkin' about my Homeland... Galicia(NW Spain)... Thanx for beauty vid...

  • @altobiotero My Grandparents Birth Certificate says Galicia, Austria. They were Ukrainian. Is that the same area you were from. From what I see in my research ... Galicia must have been a melting pot as well.

I also wondered about this film being from Bulgaria. The last I was there on a cultural exchange with my church, they had a "Cow Project" going on with the Gypsies. So I wondered about that as well.

  • @AuntieN2 Hi, Mom... Thanx for reply... My Galicia is in Spain... But originally the name came from Kelts... like Galia (Asterix and Obelix comics) conquered by Julius Caesar troops... Your grandparent's Galicia also was homeland of John Paul II (the Pope), in this case in the polish area... Kss from Galicia to St.Louis ...

  • @AuntieN2 This film is part of an on-going series of films about life in a small Croatian village and how, under the presures of modern life, its character is changing. if you are interested please feel free to visit my site. Thanks for watching

  • That was enjoyable.

  • @swk258 Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed the film. To date there are 34 films from our village viewable on my channel, andrewnorris2 Hope to see you there.

  • :D
