You've got that right, pocomo99.... the REAL talent goes mostly untapped and forgotten in favor of excruciatingly loud "noise" and stage theatrics. Why??? Simply because that's what sells! Very sad direction the music industry has taken the past few decades. The legends are slowly passing and there will be noone to take their place! :(
Louise is beautiful, so much like her mother and she's got the great voice from her father. What a grand pair, a real joy to listen to the two of them.
I went to school with Louise. Louise, if you see this...remember the library at Marymount...what was the song I sang to you, when I found out he was your dad? And do you remember piercing my ears before Sister Marions study hall ? Ha Ha Ha !! "Yearbook Quote: Here I am and here I'll be, so if you get bored, come visit me". I love this video, you both look great !!!!!!! Laurie "Bartlett" Grantham
Oh! it's so nice to see Father and daughter sing together. I must say that Louise has a fabulous voice and blends very well with that of her famous dad
ExActly SO sad the stuff people promote as talent when there is talent like this out there ..MAKES you wonder What the MUSIC industry IS all about HUH? well ..it's complicated ..
If this 1997, and it looks as if it is, Enge was 61 - unbelievable he's so beautiful. He's so talented and lovely in every way and he can also be very proud of Louise too. Thanks for this.
you have wondered why Louise has not made it in the music business? Think about who IS making it. No talent screamers, no talent rap "artists" and people who look dirty, scuzzy and drugged. Sadly, those are the people who our children and grandchildren are spending their money on. Most of them wouldn't know good music if they heard it.
@pocomo99 I absolutely agree. To most of them a beautiful inspirational tune is boring, sadly. There's no doubt that you are what you eat, just like in the case of our bodies, what we put into our minds and feed our spirits will create a result, and today's audiences in their majority are being fed with &%$%&.
This is truly fantastic seeing Engelbert and Louise together. How sweet! One can see how proud a father he is and most naturally: just look at her...! Healing, exctly what all family needs. Thanks MrMule81 for posting uniq gem.
Engelbert has song with many of the popular female singers, just did not record with them. If you happened to be at one of his shows recently, in the film shown, covering his 40 years in the entertainment world, there are clips with him singing duets with some of the best female singers, but his daughter......what could ever be more precious than father and daughter singing together.....She is so beautiful too...but then his son Bradley has a fantastic voice also..They are all very talented.
grarang, You've taken the very words out of my mouth: tall & beautiful daughter a rare and heavenly moment. But do you also see how proud of her he is. What family doesn't need "healing" in one way or the other. Thanks MrMule81 for posting this rare video.
Hi Ikkeyik, I am not sure if you remember but I responded sometime ago to your comment about Dommage, Dommage; it was also in my favorites deleted by krusty1981, I contacted thru YT, he is now KarlSings, also MrMule. He indicated he'll be posting it shortly. Perhaps you can contact him thru YT that you look for that young Enge video. And yes, I see how lovingly and proud Engelbert looks at Louise, one can almost feel the healing they sing about. I really appreciate MrMule81 for posting this.
Oh yes grarang, how could I forget. I replied to you this morning regarding same. I've also sent a message to MrMule81 telling him that you had answered my notice. It's probably now just a question of time. We both are missing Engelbert's "Dommage, Dommage".
He really looked good here.........too young for a daughter that age..............tall like dad ....looks like mom.....but no matter what He is only one of his kind................unforgetable!!
2grandsons, I think the problem there was that she had a tough act to follow, and people always compares, and as you know, Engelbert has no comparison when it comes to voice beauty. Probably she would have made it if she started on her own, she's got the looks and the voice. Then again, fatherly love will always the next thing to heaven, and not many can brag of having sung with the greatest singer ever, right?
Great song and video. Thanks for posting it!But I wonder if a top-artist like Engelbert shouldn't record duets with someone more important than his lovely daughter.
Ok, Thanks, I can uderstanding it. But, they recorded the duet "We Fell In Love" featuring in the album Hello Out There. And then again, 4 years later, another duet "Healing" featuring in After Dark...What about recording with a top-artist like him and not his daughter!!??
Who could be more important to him than his daughter? It's obvious the love & admiration between them. In your last sentence, are you saying she should record with a top artist like E but not E, OR are you saying he should record with someone besides his daughter? Not quite clear to me.
Of course that his daughter is the most important person to him!As a father. But as a top-artist he should record duets with female top-artists instead his daughter. He did it once with Gloria Gaynor. But in the 90's he recorded duets with Louise.
MrPerz...don't you think E was trying to give his daughter a break into the business? I don't know why she didn't make it really big because she has a good voice and is really beautiful.
I think values come in many different shapes. We can have professional values, cultural values, moral values, emotional values, etc. They don't always overlap, but this doesn't make them bigger or smaller. Any value is a superlative and adds something decisive to what /who we are. Therefore, the "emotional" Engelbert is no less than the "professional" Engelbert - it's just another humane dimension of this great & beloved artist.
It's Jetta from the Misfits (For you Jem and The Holograms fans).
