First I watched FMA on netflix.. and was left very confused. Then I saw the movie following the series. And was left disappointed. A bittersweet disappointment. SO! I am now going to watch FMA: Brotherhood.
@stueeps1i agree. i actually cried when it ended because my gut was telling me that i might not see another anime like this in a long while. this show was well rounded.
Don't care if the following generations don't understand where teh song is from... has long has i know and the people of whom i entrusted to play it knows and does it, i'll be in easy mind xD
Hey I kind of know this song on violin. It was either tristesse or etude by chopin, a song of parting. knowing that makes this song a little more tearjerking.
This is my all-time favorite song. I finished watching this series (crying, I might add,) then immediately went on to watch Brotherhood. Of course, when P5 came out it was on very long wait on Netflix, so my bro bought it for me for my bday... so GLAD I didn't have to wait for adult swim.... :)
@rockleefangal Did you watch the Fullmetal Alchemist Movie, Conqueror of Shamballa? If you haven't, make sure you do. That movie concludes the first series and is very good. It's on YouTube in parts. Then Brotherhood starts the re-do of the series.
@Eowyn47 I own that movie! :) I also know all the background for the show... I'm a bit obsessed. ;) Thanks for the consideration, as the movie is really a great part of the series! (Hint: you can buy it online for $7 @ Walmart, w/ free shipping if you ship directly to the store. Best. Buy. Ever)
@rockleefangal Sweet! I do want to own it, it's so good! Does it come with the original Japanese audio? I've only seen the Dub. I'm a bit obsessed too, hehe. It's a wonderful break from college studies. I'm getting my mom into the show now. We're on Episode 14 of the first series together, Japanese version.
@Eowyn47 I got my mom into it too! We finished both seasons already! :) I believe it comes with the Japanese audio, but I prefer the English so I've never checked
XD You really should write the true name and artist in the description as well. It'd be sad for people to run around saying that a classical composer's song is this awesome thing they heard from an anime soundtrack. Chopin would shit bricks. XD
@NekoNekobaNeko Good to know I wasn't crazy when I heard this. I think I sat here looking like a retard and scrunching up my eyebrows in confusion because I could have /sworn/ I had heard parts of this before.
of course it's emotional. It's Chopin. ;_;

it's a Frédéric Chopin's piece... but FMAB took the noisy part at the end of choppin's piece to make it sounds more emotional and calm..

the real song is Chopin's Étude Op. 10 No. 3, in E major. But Oshima Michiru's version is lovely.

I prefer Brotherhood as it follows the manga's story more closely, but the music for both is still pretty badass.
