Our bellydance teacher is from Egypt, and she says that men dance like that at parties. Ignorant people in the US assume it's gay for men to dance at all unless it's ballroom dancing.

@momzacarp Its not just American! Arabs in general frown upon a male bellydancing! I also believe its wrong and feminine for a man to dance like that. Dont think Arabs approve of this, even when they do this they do it in private! but in general....Arab men are Masculine in nature and they hate this type of stuff! so dont give people the idea that its ok because the middle east has strict gender roles

I had the pleasure to meet him and see his performance, in Sharm, last July that I went to visit Egypt, he is amazing the way he dance, and his moves, he also came to dance in top of my table, it was so much fun, the bad part in just that moment my video-camera had no batteries, lol, but I did tooke some pictures with him I love him, the music is great make you dance, I had so much fun in Egypt, I recomend to anyone to go visit, is great.

Shoot! He was here just last week in Redwood City, CA. I should've checked this site before or I would've told you.

I saw him in January when he came up here to California and I couldn't keep up with his workshops then. This time, his workshops were absolutely amazing. Some of the moves he did had me saying, "Oh my God! You've GOT to be kidding!" It was a lot of fun but definitely not for the faint of heart.
