I really wish Cameron would of made a whole movie based on this future. Would of been freaking awesome. Very depressing, dark atmosphere, excellent soundtrack, good special effects (still for today)
Hey Everybody! I have just released my new album 'Unhinged' which is greatly inspired by Brad Fiedel's soundtrack work in the Terminator series. You can stream or download the full album for free on my youtube channel!
the timeline 2029 A.D. is the predicament of the singularity which means greater than that of human intelligence by means of AI. Its a pretty scary thought
the first 2 movies were good but the other 2 arent that great. they coulda been better only if james camerons directed them. im looking foward to T5. i think it comes out in 2014
i have an intresting theory: avatar was the prequel to terminator, they used the unobtainium to make the terminators, somebody simply mixed up the dates
Firing from the terminator's gun, and all other gun sounds, are not the same sounds from the movie. By the way, the T2 scene with terminators, infiltration units, walking on the battlefield is just unfair to the original.
@SnakeMan227 who knows what goes on in the heads of the Hollywood executives, terminator fans have been screaming for a movie of the future to be made like this since the first one. instead we get Bale with perfectly white teeth riding in on a Huey WTF? did he write a book or something? The dude who played in T3 was a very good choice for Conner, why not just continue T3 from the bunker. i would rather see emotion and desperation from people then seeing bigg bada boom cgi/3D.
@Baseshocks I always imagined a full feature Terminator: Future War movie with the same style and cinematography like Steven Spielberg's groundbreakig 1998 movie, Saving Private Ryan.
The in your face almost realistic (well what I think real war would look like) depiction of gritty ground combat and Steven Spielberg and company did a tremendous job with Ryan.
No cheesy slow motion scenes like so many action movies have these days, but fast and brutal ground combat between man and machine.
The third scene is off course from the T2 opening.
Compared to the previous two scenes which started with a minor skirmish 2:46 and then a smaller battle 4:37...In the third scene it's full scale war between Skynet and Tech-Com forces 7:24.
That's why I chose the different scene order, a better flow.
The start of the video is pretty much without much action, untill a Terminator goes on a killing spree inside the hidden human base, with Reese getting slightly wounded and most likely pissed off, note the fire in the background?
The second scene in this video is the hit and run on the HK Tank, it's almost like Reese is getting some payback and he does, he destroys the HK Tank.
Sadly he gets hit again, this time by a flying HK, the scene ends with fire, mirroring the previous scene. I like that
@Issus38 It's a machine but runs on an AI combined with Skynet's operating system. Enemies in video games runs on AI too, and they're not 100% accurate every time when they shoot at you.
Wow, am i sirously the only who liked Terminator Salvation. It was a very good film actually considering that i had low-expectations on it. I thought the variated machines were great, and i liked the I AM Legend style more then this. Sure, the old Terminators were better, but thats because it happens in present time. It would be interesting to see how a version of this future would have looked like, but come on guys, Terminator 5 is coming, it can all change.
@LifterC3 No no and NO it was NOT a very good film, please don't embarras yourself by claiming that pile of dog turd masquering as a movie was 'very good', it should never have been made and in my mind has no place in the Terminator series. It's not just that it wasn't as good as the first 2, it was that it was so stinkingly awful!
It was directed by a som1 who has no concept of how to direct, the plot was non-existant, the acting was hammy, i was just 2 hours of loud noises and explosions.
@JackRabbitSlim True, as part of the Terminator series it deserves a rate 6 out of 10, cuz in no way it can match the original 2, but in my opinion it was better then Rise of the machines, which felt like a exact copy of Judgement day, with some new stuff. But as a solid movie i think it was good enough to me, the effects looked great, their was enough to keep me entertained, i cared about the main characters and found the end revelation and fight satisfying enough to be better then Terminator 3.
...trifecta of Fire. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Yet- here we are: Playing simple games that test motor functions and reaction speeds to slowly instagate each generation to be Faster, harder- since THat makes us stronger Wooooaoaoaoh
sexyloser Is right: In 2018 The Resistance Did not have portable "laser" guns. But jump another ten years- 2029 and we do. I wish they made a film of the Original story line, before The machines started dicking around with "Doc's" Back to the Future!
@Classicjarheads Agreed. Cameron should've just kept The Terminator, and then begin to create a prequel trilogy or something about the original future war.
I wonder who has got the phase (phased?) plasma rifle in the forty watt range? I use a forty watt bulb and its crap I want a nice bright 100 watt one maybe there is a phase (phased?) plasma rifle in the 100 watt range?? bigger and brighter :-)
God I miss stop motion, animatronics, and models in movies meant to evoke fear. The 'odd' look of it tells our brain that its not natural for an object (like a flying HK) to move that way, and it really enhances the 'otherworldly' nature...like something out of a nightmare. THAT is why the T-800 in the original will always be more terrifying the CG we have these days is too clean, too natural to evoke this kind of higher brain function, at least in my opinion :D
@BrigKline Agreed completely. The only thing that I think looked really good with CGI was Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes. Now I think that was how planet of the apes was always meant to be. But for pretty much everything else, practical effects are just so much more amazing.
One of my favourite moments from the Terminator movies. The laser sounds, the music and the dark scenery is great. The skulls on the ground really gives me the feeling that the machines are truly evil.
radio:(static) this is general conrad the war still rages on the machines dont know when to quit the people have lost there homes and familys even my son is gone
because of those metal bastards but know this i will never give up until skynet is dead....(radio off)
@sexyloser is because james cameron always showed the 2029 in salvation was 2018 it was the beginning so the rebels were still strong and skynet was fairly new
@MrLOL350z Sorry, I can't buy that. Humanity just got BLASTED with a nuclear war. Looking at the people in Terminator Salvation, they looked healthy and relatively fine, except for some ruined buildings here and there. There was no sign of hunger or desperation AT ALL in Salvation. Nobody chasing rats for food. No depression. The Machines didn't really seem threatening and you never saw more than a handful of Machines on screen at any point of time in the movie. Total fail in theme.
@MrLOL350z Even more about the Resistance in Salvation: They had bases with flightlines full of aircraft. They had ample supplies (parts, fuel, etc) to mount a full scale helicopter assault. There was no raggedness, no sign of fatigue, no desperation.
The Machines & Skynet didn't feel menacing at all, even if classic T-800 infiltrators have not kicked in yet.
The movie was an absolute failure in what the Future War and Terminator is.
@sexyloser Yeah, the vision of the future in T4 was so boring and untrue to the original. Sure the plot point was there for why it was different - but they shouldn't have made it since it was so different in that it was much, much worse than the original vision.
@sexyloser You have to remember something dude, This future war is set in 2029-2032. The one in Salvation was in (I think) 2016-2018. Big difference trust me.
@UchuuKeijiRaidanjin agreed i hate it how people shun the final 2 films. Ya there no were near as good as the first 2 ones but they were not that bad. Look on the bright side at least we did not get the actors from the room to act in them
@popamon451 You are right, but I beleive that if you made a masterpiece the sequel must be at least as good or better than the previous movies, because otherway you are disrespecting very good movies with sequels wich don't mach them at all.
@UchuuKeijiRaidanjin We may *never* see a Terminator future war like this if that moron McG gets to direct T5 and T6. Read what he wants to do with T5's story plot. He wants there to be time travel already, a return to pre-Judgment Day 2011 for John to warn the world as a Skynet invasion is about to happen and the war will be fought with conventional weapons.
Saying oh it's only 2018 is just bullshit to rationalize it. The TV show was more faithful to the real future war.
@sexyloser I've seen only the 1st seven minutes of T4: Salvation. And without reading (or hearing!) about the reviews...I was already disapointed with the presentation of those first minutes. (even the introduction style of the opening credits of T4 SUCK!)
Respond to this video... BTW, Bethesda, the engine for Skyrim is grand, you still own the rights to the Terminator games...please get off you cans and remake or give us a Terminator game!
I like your video very much and I totally agree with you about T3. John Conner looked like a fag, not like a leader and the "resistence" in it was a bunch of raiders, not an army. And what why hell did they wave an US-Flag there???.. the resistence is a global struggle... However. Good work.
@CnCKane Regardless the country, you fight your for your own land... well can but hope. To give up the identity of yourself, your country, what you fight for, you slowly give in to them on a mental level and once they have you cracked your fighting force is a lot worse and thus you will die. Its a moral thing, inspiration, a constant remind of what and why you fight.
@axom20 I disagree, but this is not about real life politics. This is about the Resistence in Terminator I + II, which is international for obvious reasons...
At 8:41, is that a kid saluting John? If that is, that just made this a whole lot darker. Makes sense though. "If they're healthy egnough, they're in our Resistance."
Let us pray to good that Terminator 5 will be a JAmes Carmeroon Movie again and no bulshit like Terminator Salvation .... or T3 Salvation needed more oft James Cameron s Future Ware exactly like this so it could have worked but not like t4 was....
Salvation was a good action movie. But that's just it.. a good ACTION flick.. not sci and certainly not a good Terminator movie.
These 9 minutes of pure genius visions outweigh Salvation beyond question. T1 + T2 were amazing films. Though the favourite is usually T2, I prefer T1 myself, simply because of the 'future flashbacks'. This was a real vision.
Terminator Salvation was a joke and while Christian Bale was an improvement over the ugly fuck from T3, I think Clive Owen looks more suited.
The main Problem I had with Salvation is it felt like a COD video game and not like the world of Skynet vs Humans like James Cameron had pictured and as well too In Salvation there were way to many unnecessary characters in the movie and When I look at this Look how good this looks without CGI.. I like CGI when it is used right but too much makes it look cartoony.. The Miniatures here look fantastic still after all these years
Hope James Cameron COMPLETE THIS FUTURE WAR, T3 and T4 I hope they are just an Alternative Future, cause now they are shitty future with nothing special, the effects are not even real...
There needs to be a video game of this. A really good strategic shooter loaded with tense, action packed set pieces alongside atmospheric, challenging survival missions. Play as Reese, get sent to destroy the big HKs, flyers etc or be someone new, I don't care - just do it and DO IT RIGHT!!!!
in T4 you have the chance to hide and live and make it one more day. in T1 you will have no chance to survive as you die in the dirt next to the skulls
I definitely saw this parts once back in the early 90s in German Free-TV (RTL glaub ich), cause I remember this scenes without having owned any DVD/VHS of T1... Could there be any TV-Version where they put that stuff in?
@TheOrangeGrandMaster Cont. Don't worry, the resistance will get their ass given to them, after the T800 will go in mass production, alongside with the laser weapons and those huge bad ass tanks. Just let us hope they don't fuck up the next movie with something else, like a shit plot.
@TheOrangeGrandMaster T4 was in FUCKING 2018, they still had gadgets left behind before judgement day, this is the reason why no phased-plasma pulse rifle in 40-watt range, Skynet develops that later, they didn't even had the T800 till 2018, this is taking place in 2028, by the time the resistance is exhausted, all their stuff blown up/gone, their weapons stolen from Skynet. I hate people who bashes T4 just because its not taking place further in the future...
hopefully the robots will be built by Microsoft and will crash if you open to many programs at once or will get virus easily.....if apple builds them......were screwed......
Both are major software companies. None of them produce the actual hardware that runs either machine running their software. It could be argued that apple did, but that was from motorola.
If INTEL were to construct all this. Then we are screwed
Directed by James Cameron, it should be about the Judgement Day war and The Resistance as depicted in the T1 and T2 future war scenes. If he cant get the original actors to reprise their roles, he should re-create the exact same scenes using actors of resemblance and then in the exact same style, using no better technology than was used in T2, create the rest of the film and disregard T3 and T4 as they were shit!
I didn't edit the wole thing when it comes down to the sound effects, only the parts where I removed Sarah's voice...and the video was edited by me to make all the different scenes fit together as much as I could.
T-1 and T-2 Greatest film Series ever Made ......no one can do it like James Cameron..FUCK..ALL SALVATION ...T3..T4.T.WHAT.FUCK EVER...MC..FAGGOT G BULLSHIT....THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE!!!!!
Check out the Terminator which comes into shot at 8:17 - gets caught in crossfire and (almost) angrily looks to it's right at the perpetrator - another fellow robot. it then stops firing.
I don't know exactly why these scenes give somehow a real dark postapocalytic feel compared with postapocalytic movies nowadays with their zombie crap. The idea of an ever dark sky and stalking in a ruined city against machines gives somehow a sense of hopeless and doom.
#1 reason why terminator salvation was the worst, no phased plasma rifles in a 40 watt range

"The order you put them in, was it the chronological order in the events? Cause they did not appear in that order in the movie itself!"
No, I did not use the chronological order from the first movie.
In Terminator (1984), the scene inside the base 1:05 actually comes after the scene where Reese takes out the Hunter Killer Tank 5:12.
I chose this order because for this video, the 'flow' so to speak, was much better.

@sexyloser I've seen only the 1st seven minutes of T4: Salvation. And without reading (or hearing!) about the reviews...I was already disapointed with the presentation of those first minutes. (even the introduction style of the opening credits of T4 SUCK!)
TzeffNL 3 months ago
@sexyloser From what I hear, this is what most director wanted to do. The problem of course is cost.

Respond to this video... BTW, Bethesda, the engine for Skyrim is grand, you still own the rights to the Terminator games...please get off you cans and remake or give us a Terminator game!
Zankjuyse 2 months ago in playlist Favorite videos
I like your video very much and I totally agree with you about T3. John Conner looked like a fag, not like a leader and the "resistence" in it was a bunch of raiders, not an army. And what why hell did they wave an US-Flag there???.. the resistence is a global struggle... However. Good work.
CnCKane 5 months ago 3
@CnCKane Regardless the country, you fight your for your own land... well can but hope. To give up the identity of yourself, your country, what you fight for, you slowly give in to them on a mental level and once they have you cracked your fighting force is a lot worse and thus you will die. Its a moral thing, inspiration, a constant remind of what and why you fight.
axom20 5 months ago
@axom20 I disagree, but this is not about real life politics. This is about the Resistence in Terminator I + II, which is international for obvious reasons...

What effects did they use for the T-800s movement in T2? They should have stuck with that.

At 8:41, is that a kid saluting John? If that is, that just made this a whole lot darker. Makes sense though. "If they're healthy egnough, they're in our Resistance."

James Cameron in 1984 with 6 million dollar budget this 100 times better job that this looser who made Salvation.

Terminator 4 would have succeeded if stuff like this was most of the movie.

The Miniatures here look fantastic still after all these years
TheGoongala 6 months ago 2
@TheGoongala I dont thin Salvation should be considered a Terminator movie. It is just a lame remake of the Mad Max 2 with robots.

xpectz 7 months ago
This is what i always wanted to see...and hardly ever will in the Terminator movies.
So i'll have to watch those 'Transformers'-flics to get at least a little bit of heavy-metal -Syfi-Action...:(
BTW,isnt there anyone else missing those laser-rays in these movies today??
These clips reminded me again how awesome they looked, especially in T2!
Gunh3d1 7 months ago
There needs to be a video game of this. A really good strategic shooter loaded with tense, action packed set pieces alongside atmospheric, challenging survival missions. Play as Reese, get sent to destroy the big HKs, flyers etc or be someone new, I don't care - just do it and DO IT RIGHT!!!!

All of this was in the regular version of T1, except for the segments that come from T2. (The part starting at 6:30 is from T2.)

@TheOrangeGrandMaster Cont. Don't worry, the resistance will get their ass given to them, after the T800 will go in mass production, alongside with the laser weapons and those huge bad ass tanks. Just let us hope they don't fuck up the next movie with something else, like a shit plot.
rageagaintstheNWO 7 months ago
@TheOrangeGrandMaster T4 was in FUCKING 2018, they still had gadgets left behind before judgement day, this is the reason why no phased-plasma pulse rifle in 40-watt range, Skynet develops that later, they didn't even had the T800 till 2018, this is taking place in 2028, by the time the resistance is exhausted, all their stuff blown up/gone, their weapons stolen from Skynet. I hate people who bashes T4 just because its not taking place further in the future...

Both are major software companies. None of them produce the actual hardware that runs either machine running their software. It could be argued that apple did, but that was from motorola.
If INTEL were to construct all this. Then we are screwed

The next movie should be entitled:
James Cameron's
Terminator 3: Future War
Directed by James Cameron, it should be about the Judgement Day war and The Resistance as depicted in the T1 and T2 future war scenes. If he cant get the original actors to reprise their roles, he should re-create the exact same scenes using actors of resemblance and then in the exact same style, using no better technology than was used in T2, create the rest of the film and disregard T3 and T4 as they were shit!

They'd just suck the oxygen out of the atmosphere, or bathe the entire planet surface in deadly radiation.

Check out the Terminator which comes into shot at 8:17 - gets caught in crossfire and (almost) angrily looks to it's right at the perpetrator - another fellow robot. it then stops firing.
What a great movie.

I don't know exactly why these scenes give somehow a real dark postapocalytic feel compared with postapocalytic movies nowadays with their zombie crap. The idea of an ever dark sky and stalking in a ruined city against machines gives somehow a sense of hopeless and doom.
Tarkus88 8 months ago 13
@Tarkus88 Yes. if you like hopeless doom check out Saikano. the ending is pretty much the end of humanity on the planet.
