I have terrible acne, and I have horrible scars, but I learnt a trick a couple of months ago that prevents scarring; when you get a pimple, particularly the bigger ones you know generally scar, dab it with bacitracin, and get those little round bandaids, and put one of those over it. Leave it on over night. Do this every day/night and the pimple will come up faster and, well, ever since I've been doing this, my pimples have not scarred! =)
