  • The drummer double kicks everyone in the dick.

  • He looks possessed! I love it!

  • Its such a drag to see people call others names....accomplishes nothing.THANKS FOR POSTING THIS!!

  • Buddy Guy will forever be one of the most influential guitarists in blues and rock and roll history. No one can give goosebumps quite like he can

  • все клево - но лучше б он так не пел!:):)

  • I'm so glad I got to see Buddy live!

  • Comment removed

  • this is off SUPERSHOW. there's a dude playin a crapton of wind instruments at once. got the dvd in the 3 buck bin at fye. worrrd.

  • @ganjamcluvbud that dude is rahsaan roland kirk, a fantastic musician. you should check out his album "bright moments".

  • if jack bruce is jammin its gotta be good

  • Man Buddy is just up their takin command of greats like jack and buddy miles. Buddy guy was the next step in the evolution of the guitar....probably the most important behind Jimi. Their was only a few thing that held buddy guy from being the next Rock Guitar God with an axe.

The time of which he began playing and those pedals that Hendrix and the rest of em started using.

  • That is how it was meant to be played!

  • It seems it was played in the Motown style and the drummer had stiff playing, only in my opinion. It was actually played in 4/4.

  • It seems it was played in the Motown style and the drummer had stiff playing, only in my opinion.

  • Underneath it all is the perfect bass of Jack bruce. Would have loved it if he could have cut in once or twice with some vocals. Really enjoyed this. Gonna show it to my grandchildren.

  • what kind of pick ups is buddy using on his strat?

  • probably the ones the guitar came with when it was made 7 or 8 yrs earleir .. there were hardly any replacement pickups available in 1969 and most people stuck with the original manufacturers parts.

  • Hardcore!

  • Is that Lemmy and George Harrison in the audience?

  • @moonkef : Good question.

  • mad funky!!! dang!

  • this SMOKES the SRV version, i.m.o...not that the SRV version ain't good...

  • singing definitely does, I don't know about the guitar play though.

Great song anyway, thanks for posting this!

  • go fuk yourself

  • i love the drumming

    very funky :)

  • Don't forget Jack Bruce's fantastic playing here :-)

  • Fantastic video, but not very rare.

  • buddy guy is so good

i'm alright with hendrix not being they're buddy guy is much better

  • holy shit, i wish i were dead.

  • miles and guy.

  • buddy is fire.

  • KAN-GA-E-RA-RE-HEN

  • always on the top!!!!!!!buddy is awsom :)

  • is lemmy there?not no?

  • This is great. Makes me wish Jack Bruce could have done something with Stevie Ray Vaughan. Don't think they ever got together at all. Did they? I'm sure they would have done if SRV had lived longer.

  • even better - he worked with Buddy

  • OMG this is fantastic!

  • man that white dude is keeping it and letting loose all at the same time. Probably plays base for some trio band from Europe!!

  • joking?

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting:))5*****

    theodorus45, thanks for the share!

  • Fantastic show! Can recommend this DVD!

    "Super Show"

  • 'endrix was gonna play at this supershow, but the flight got cancelled, or he missed it.

  • what a shame!

  • Buddy Miles (drummer) makes the best faces in this. This jam smokes. There's a great track with Steven Stills called "Black Queen" that would be sweet to see on you tube

  • This is fucking awesome!!!

  • Jack Bruce is superb.

  • The dream team! fantastic

  • I see Dick heckstall-Smith on sax (with the glasses). He played a lot with Jack Bruce on Bruce's solo albums, and played in Colosseum with Jon Hiseman.

  • legbider,

that's like your bizarre opinion man. it's a simple fact that Buddy Guy is one of the most influential guitarists and stagemen in blues and pop music history.

I think that if he's good enough for Hendrix, Clapton and SRV to steal his playing style, then it doesn't really matter what you think.

i think heavy metal and modern "rock" are just noise, and there's plenty of preteens and people with bad taste that would be pissed at me.

so keep your peter green, i'll keep diggin Buddy Guy

  • @poilkjuyhgtrfde44554 aint nothing wrong with peter green at all

  • I have to agree with Scotwise to a point. I am a blues guitar enthusiast, and have been since I saw Peter greens' Fleetwood mac in '69'. BG sounds like "noise" to me. Go ahead and lay it on me, BG fans.

  • And also, just to add, there's a video of Buddy playing, "The First Time I Met The Blues" on youtube. His guitar playing in that video is excellent; he barely makes any mistakes, his timing is to a tee, and his soloing is simply fantastic.

  • To put in my two cents, the blues is not about musical impecibility, or profound talent-- it's about feeling. I know that sounds very played out, but it's true. Give a song a driving rhythm, with a good vocalist(like, idk, BUDDY GUY?), and some guitar noise/blues fills and you have a formula for a good 60s electric blues tune. I love Buddy Guy; as a guitar player, I want to play like Buddy Guy, and use the same techniques and licks he uses, because they sound good to me. I won't argue conjecture

  • Where'd ya get this great stuff? Besides Buddy Guy there's Jack Bruce on Bass and it looks like Buddy Miles on drums and Dick Hekstall Smith on Sax.

  • fuck i love watchn buddy guy perform, he knows what soul is, i wish i had half an ounce of wat he got

  • he just played Glastonbury last night- the set is on BBC iplayer (for 6 days...) The guy rules!

His playing and guitar tone at Glastonbury were just beautiful. But his vocals here in 1969 were amazing!

  • jimi hendrix, eric clapton and countless otherbands learned off of his music i guess they can't solo either? grow up and show some respect for pioneers in electric blues

  • that automatically makes you a piece of shit.

you know, your ignorance makes me wonder what you actually listen to... i can just imagine.

  • Scotwise = dickhead , you must of realise that that is just my opinion...but I'd like to think it's a well considered one . Anyway, Scottie can you just pop your head out of your arse for a tick and listen to the little accent at 59 seconds , if you don't get it then sadly , you don't get it.Now, pop it back in there and buzz off.

  • Two words for this...

    Damn cool.

  • So Scotwise believes "Buddy blows"

    But

Muddy hired him, Jimi was inspired by him, Stevie covered him, and The Stones still play with him. On top of walking the walk that is some pretty good endorsements.

But I spose you think these heavyweights of the 20th century music scene "don't know good playing from bad anyway." And that "they just believe what they're told by someone whose opinion they respect."

    No, really, good argument

  • BG was a BIG GUN! Hell, If his playing didn't move you then you were either dead or deaf.................

  • BG is a legend. take it to the bank

  • SONZEIRA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • scotwise, you start out with three words "Buddy Guy blows." and then you think think you can make up for your ignorance with all of pseudointellectual nonsense...you say "for one,im entitled to my opinion" but yet you forget everyone else here is too. to me you seem to be some condescending prick who talks shit on the internet and probalay wouldnt say half the shit you type. and does calling people retarded make you feel better about blowing guys? its okay to be gay, just come out of the closet.

  • No peace for retards!

  • scotwise blows.

  • Youre a fucking idiot. I can list plenty of times. Like the one concert where he was on tour with the greatful dead. And without buddy guy there wouldnt be a jimi hendrix..dickhead..

  • Hi Retard, I was not asking for examples in BG's career. I'm asking for an example of BG's playing in this video. Say, Buddy was smokin' at 3:00 minutes in. If this is too hard, let me know. I can dumb this down until you can you can understand what I'm asking you for. On the other hand, there would have been no Jimi Hendrix without Buddy Guy? Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Haaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

  • You know Jimi Hendrix actually cancelled one of his own shows just to go watch BG play right? And have you seen the video on Youtube where JH watch BG play? He's digging every note of BG's playing, check it out! Don't get me wrong, I think JH is light years ahead of any other guitarist the world has seen, but the guy did indeed get alot inspiration from BG. I respect your opinion though.. well, actually I don't.

  • @Jimi85 Well.

Without Buddy Guy there would be no Peter Green.

So, frankly. Whether you dig it or not, just respect it.

  • @JilaX Don´t really understand your comment here. I dig Buddy Guy, I have several CDs of him, and actually play some of his music (I try to at least).

My point was that people don´t seem to understand the impact Buddy Guy had, still has for that matter, on electric guitar playing, particularly electric blues guitar. You´re absolutely right, Buddy Guy was a major influence on several of the british blues greats: Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mike Bloomfield and Jeff Beck. B Guy is a living legend!

  • @Jimi85 Youtube must be bugging, that comment was posted as a reply to someone else, who was downtalking buddy.

My apologies if you took it the wrong way.

  • @JilaX No need for apologies, mate! :)

  • hey men ..... peace !!!!! ... p & L !!!!!!

  • @theclavious No need to be that way man. Fuck. Chill out. Be cool.

  • scotwise..post your address and phone number for everybody so we can all kick your stupid fucking head in..idiot.

  • You must be a Buddy Guy fan. Since your such an expert, you wouldn't mind sharing what you think is so great about this video. There must be at least one place where you think Buddy is really smokin'. Give me a time reference and why you think his playing is so great. I'm sure I'll shoot you down. Idiot.

  • scotwise blows.

  • For one, I'm entitled to my opinion. For two, you don't know if I blow or not. I would bet that your also a fan of George Thorogood. My advice to you would be to "step away from the bong!"

  • It's astonishing that you could think Buddy Guys blows. This is one of the great blues guitarists, and one of Clapton's idols. I guess snotpoker's issue is how your opinion could be so off the mark.

  • Be astonished! The Emperor has no clothes! Clapton may idolize Buddy Guy, but he's not copping any of his licks. Take this tune right here for example. Buddy's not playing anything resembling a MUSICAL PHRASE, anywhere in this song. I would call Buddy's playing style "emotional noise". Allow me to put it another way...Buddy's playing reminds me of a 15 yr. old boy having sex for the first time. Lot's 'O' energy, but no finesse. But hey! Some girls like that! Buddy's playing style blows.

  • Dude, if it's good enough for Jack Bruce, it's good enough for me.

  • I'm not trying to change your mind about Buddy Guy. I'm sure he's a very nice man. To get ahead in the music business with that guitar style, he would have to be. He may be considered a Blues legend, but not in my book. Most people don't know good playing from bad anyway. They just believe what they're told by someone whose opinion they respect. You know, kind of like "if it's good enough for Jack Bruce, it's good enough for me."

  • Well, I've been playing for 35 years. I know good playing from bad. I hardly need some neophyte telling me I don't have the ability to make sound artistic judgements.

  • I'm sure Buddy Guy has been playing longer than you. Look at the shape he's in. 35 years of playing doesn't necessarily make you a good player. You can make all the artistic judgements you want, not everyone has to agree with you. I don't know what a neophyte is, but something tells me I should be offended.

  • Buddy Guy blows.

  • So much better than Stevie's version.

  • hahahha!

    you must be jocking.

  • damnnnnn and I mean the "damn I have to watch that agian" kinda damnnn

  • neva heard guitar like that to back yp like that, very smooth.

  • if you turn this up loud enuff the opening line will blow someone off there chair...

OOOPS THERE I GO HHAHAHAH CANT WAITE TO SEE HIM LIVE SOON

    5 STARS :D

  • Guys vocal on this is superb. So soulful.

  • rip buddy miles

  • RIP buddy

  • These guys got their shit wired up a little bit to tight.

  • I'll bet Hendrix was at these shows.

    And if he wasnt.

I bet he wanted to be.

  • He was gonna actually play there, but his flight got cancelled, or missed it.

  • that thing he does at 58 sec's .....is unmotherf*%#@^NBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If only I could have been there....

  • Jack is the greatest livinb bassist.

    1. Jack Bruce

    2. John Entwistle.

    3. Jaco Pastorius.

  • 2 and 3 are at a definite disadvantage in the greatest living bass player department, since they're dead.

  • haha yeah, that'll make it a little harder won't it

  • About 5 seconds for me lol.

  • agree with pyroseed13 and sharp1972!!!!!

  • took me 10 seconds of listening to put this on my favourites,,,,,,

  • Gracias por el video, una joya.

  • didn't know the soul version. very cool.

  • Buddy Miles keeps speeding up and slowing down.

  • Buddy had a lot of dynamics ...

  • I guess.

  • Everyone quit arguing and just enjoy the music. Everyone has their own opinion, and arguing with them isn't going to change their opinion. Arguing on here is futile.
