I expected a more worked mix, we could almost redo the same with 2 CD players by using the sampling function, it's a little bit boring, that misses dynamics, of groove, it is only my opinion ! :)

if i can remember correctly, i used a dell vostro 1500 (4 x usb)laptop but sometimes ran into trouble with usb errors. after alot of trying i finally got a decent 7 port belkin powerd usb hub as cheap one wouldnt do it. even with the belkin i ran into troubles once i had 4 xp10 mic web cam. etc..... usb2 is quite limited by default nothing you can do about it.

Nice stuff - I'm converting to digital and was going to go to Xone 4d, but would like 4 active jogs and sets of controls. This might be a better solution as I already own a DDM 4000. I'd like to get your thoughts. Also what beat matching are you using - manual / grids / auto. Finally - Mac or PC? Thanks for any response. By the way nice track selection - I always mix Yo Yo Get Funky w/ the Pyro Tech Jomanda Got a love Remixes and Fast Eddie Make some Noise.

@cooldjflush yes if you get the xone then your not gonna have any touch sensitive jogs and only two jog wheels that you ll have to hold shift to enable four. i am using grids to line the tracks but is still not simple when warping old vinyl rips like yo yo get funky or mr lee keep rokin. if you want total 4 deck control then this is the way to go if your on a budget, if you got the cash then put together something amazing but youll end up with a huge 4 deck foot print.XP10 as now discontinued:o(

@andyfoz Yeah - at home I currently run 1 cd deck and 3 1210's and was looking for a low footprint solution to start doing club gigs again. Since it's a crap shoot to know what clubs are running I was looking for something all included that I coul drop into their boards self contained thats what initially atracted me to the xone 4d or xone dx but no scratching / touch and only two jogs is an issue. stupid eks has discontinued this product, they seem to think you need to pay 600 quid for the otus each!!

the mixer is a ddm4000 and it is midi, though im not using the midi atm.

Just a small question--Are you using the DDM4000 in external mixer mode through something like the audio8 interface? Or are you just hooking the midi-out up to your computer.

I'm intersted in a similar setup but with 2 xone 1ds instead of 4 xp10s

dude its called a ground loop isolator , i had t get one but upgraded my mixer to denon dnx 1500 and no need for it anymore, bison is the most stable software just make sure you have a good dual core laptop

the xp10's are wicked and all you need for djing. although you do need inline supressors to stop them hissing, google it. the ddm4000 is the most mixer and more that your going to get for this money, and of course you can map it to to traktor and serato for midi, though i dont. complete dj control without the need for an extranl sound card. a good alternative to the zone 4d at a fraction of the cost and without the bullshit,

yeh grond loop suppressors, the cheap ones are shit and you lose bass.

i did my first gig this week with the xp10, the xp10 were great fucking traktor blue screened me just before i went on, i wanted to snap my laptop over my knee!

30 mins later sorted it but lost all my play lists and mix history, shit program! needs updates quick.

traktor 3 was rock solid traktor pro is shite.

but no difference in actual use, ie no delay

if you press sync without worrying with the kick-snare pattern, you will mess the beatmatching

i didnt use a beat marker on the kick snare, i always placed it on the first beat dispite what ean golden says.

i can press sync at any point and it is ok.

The physical slider has a higher resolution, but it depends on the preset what kinds of values you can get out of it. If you use regular CC/Program Change/Note on/whatever MIDI messages you get oly 7 bits, but if you use pitch wheel or high-res CC you get higher resolution.

autosync is near perfect in the new traktor when using digital 4x4 beat house music.

this mix was almost impossible to make sound perfect as the tracks are all vinyl rips except last track.

I have no fundamental issue with auto-beatmix, but nearly all of the implementations have the same problem as auto-beatmatch has had for almost ten years... it's just not a tight mix. You can hear the software "hunting" between some beats and it just makes a sloppy sounding beatmix.

eventually all clubs will have some kind of dvs like serato or traktor just natural progression.

did you see the cdj400? pioneer already knows it, the next deck will be midi/dvd player the one after that will be just a digital/midi like music player using cards or flash drives or what ever the new medium is in the future.

To say the "cdj is dead" is a hard sell. There are lots of perks to using a DVS, but they all come at the downfall of ease of use and reliability.

Don't get me wrong, I use an all MIDI traktor pro setup without any problems at all. But how many dj's have you met that can't get it working right or have had bad experiences with a DVS? There's also no standard bindings for MIDI controllers. At the end of the day many dj's and most clubs prefer a standard piece of kit that they know is reliable.

That's a great idea for a feature: a standard button in traktor to hit to make it search removable drives for settings files and libraries, then it lets you pick from a list of what's available. So dj's can bring in a thumb disk with settings or a portable drive with a library and settings to swap into a computer quickly.

I'm just saying the reliability of a dedicated appliance will always be greater than a PC or Mac. Especially a computer installed in a club with lots of different djs using it
