I hadn't heard she died until I saw Sarah Harmer last night and she dedicated a mourning song to her. I had to leave the gig early, So glad I got to see this now.

So sad that Kate McGarrigle was stricken with clear cell sarcoma in 2006 and lost that battle yesterday. She left us a lot of great music, along with her husband, Loudon Wainwright III, sister Anna, son Rufus Wainwright, and daughter Martha.

Rest in peace, Kate. Keep on singing, Martha!
