@myers82 Don't you dare praise that gigantic heap of trash. I read the comics and even I realize that what translates well there does not always translate well on film. Give me a good script, good story that stays true to the original, and action that doesn't look horribly fake and I will be content.

've seen all three Punisher movies:

1st one is just simply poor!

2nd is a good old fashioned action movie with good quality acting all round nice fight scenes especially the Kevin Nash scence classic!

The 3rd is just a total KILL-FEST, nothing but ultra violence like you've never seen before total contrast from previous films in the franchise.

in my opinion the second is the best!

There are actors who work hard to prepare for their roles they are to take on in up coming films. Mentally, emotionally, and the hardest is physically. Thomas Jane is one of them, and he did so for this film. Taylor Lautner for the New Moon film, etc, etc. Ray Stephenson was not one of them.

Thomas Jane was good as Frank Castle in the Punisher. Its funny thinking bout it but they supposed changed the actor and direction of the next film, cus they didnt get the success they hoped from this film, but the second film is terrible compared to this. I think Thomas Jane should have played McLeod in a new Highlander film too, cus he has a decent likeness to Christopher Lambert. This film stayed true to the comics I think.

I agree Jane will always be the best actor too of portrayed the Punisher. It was a very human story, very sad. It dealt with loss and the ability too overcome loss. Everyone goes through that pain in one form or another. For me, it was losing custody of my son. We each deal with loss in our own way. I liked Franks way, Not revenge, Punishment. Too bad I couldn't use that philosphy when dealing with my ex wife.LOL

The first movie was ok, not as bad as people say it was. The second movie seemed too obsessed with making sure they kept a shirt on the guy. All the guys complained about shirtless Thomas Jane, so they wanted to make sure that wouldn't happen. However, the whole movie it looked like Ray Stevenson was wearing 3 layers, it made the Punisher look like a fat old man, and I've seen Rome, Ray isn't as fat as they made him look.

the problem with this movie though is that it doesn't follow the origin of the Punisher corectly. On top of that there was not enough action or gore. The comics are gorey, violent, and brutal. This movie was none of those. The true Punisher movie is Punisher: War Zone with Ray Stevenson. It was fucking amazing!
