Oh, I just remembered, the last time I saw this ship battle, one of the planes got stuck, and the commentator said "If you look up, you'll see a Harrier jump jet"
@Someloke8895 You are welcome.....as for the Hispaniola,it is at the moment in storage in Whitby for the winter months, untill the summer season begins then she starts taking tourists for a 15 min trip around the south bay, feel free to check out my other Scarborough video's i am sure you will find the Hispaniola there somewere..............John
When I saw this for the first time ca. 1957 a plane got caught up on its wire as it attacked the harbour. Tthe commentator claimed it was an early helicopter. I think he called it "Hanging Harry". Ah, what memories of the North Side, like losing deposits on lost golf balls on the pitch and putt just up the hill, seeing Lonnie Donegan at the Floral Hall, taking the miniature railway to Scalby Mill, eating "99s", staying at the Yardley Manor.

Having lived in Scarborough from 1988 to 1996 (when I was 8), I can safely say this has always been one of my favourite things to see.
Thanks for the video, brings back good memories.
Do you know what happened to the "Hispaniola" ship? Last time I ever saw that was when they transported it down Valley Road to the harbour.
