  • His career went south as soon as he bullied his best friend, Angelo Dundee, into a pay cut. That was the last they worked together. Ray needed Angelo and never saw or had anyone else in his corner who saw the things Angelo saw.

  • when i was a kid at school in the 80s,we all wanted to be this guy,he was the man...

  • @onlyjoetee was??he is the man!

  • @RealHipHopEire32 hahaha he was..we all have our time in the sun and go..

  • i can hit harder than this chump

  • @bill23138 LOL!!!!! I love your assumptions kid

  • @MyKaratekid1 It's not about how hard you can hit, it was SRL overwhelming hand speed that beat people into a submission.

  • @POLChelseaFC I know but dont forget Sugar ray leonard had some underrated power and a Highly underrated left hook

  • @bill23138 if you're 6'5' 250. If not; I doubt you hit harder because you wouldn't be boasting on YT. Anyway in boxing if you really know the sport, it's the shot you don't see that knocks you out, and SRL hit people so quick AND hard with punches they didn't see coming were the ones that took them out. If you're just a SRL hater live with he held 6 Belts & fought in the golden era of boxing. KO'd a good LH LaDone, his 1rst fight with Hearns is classic. Your argument has no legs.

  • @tellthetruthg shut up pussy im probly wuicker than this pussy too

  • @bill23138 No I'm not shuttin up for anyone especially for a keyboard coward like you that can't spell or put a complete sentence together. I know you're a punk your mamma knows you're a punk. Anyone that would post stupid boastful things like you do has no heart. Piss off

  • @tellthetruthg im quicker ok u happy nerd go read a book dude

  • @bill23138 so thats what girls say about you. Can't believe you'd come back for another mind whuppin. This was fun but you're not on my level so you can RE all you want. You have already proved you're an ass no need to expose your self further. You need to read a book

  • @tellthetruthg bitch im in college and got on the deans list last semester now smd chump

  • @bill23138 Hey Bill, I see you haven't changed. Came to like one of the all-time greats and what do I see? You posting some hate shit. Quicker than SRL? You even said you'd beat the shit out of any military too? Quit talking out of your ass. Hey guys, this dude wants to be a cop and now suddenly he thinks he the shit, even though he hasn't done anything but be a college kid.

  • @raymex dude get off my dick are u gay?

  • Ray Leonard before he retired was the most perfect fighter to ever step in the ring. He had every punch, and threw them perfectly. He had never been knocked down. Had great legs, incredible hand speed, very accurate, to go with great defense. He was also very tough, and had no quit in him. As if that's not enough, he was smart.

He beat some of the best fighters to step into the ring, and destroyed everyone who didn't belong with him.

He was as good as it gets.

  • super texnik super boxing!!!!!!!

  • O MELHOR EM SUA CATEGORIA EM TODOS OS TEMPOS!!!

  • 1:50 I got goosebumps...two legends staring at each other knowing their encounter was awaited by the entire world and that only one could come out on top...

  • he is not underrated, he is considered one of the best of all time, and he is

  • Leonard was perhaps the most gifted fighter that ever laced up a pair of gloves. He lost to Camacho because he was old and comming off a six yes six year lay off, Hector had 17 fights in this same period, Ray was full of ring rust and too old to train out of it. If Leonard had had a long career he would have gone down in history as the all time great, if you pitched him at his peak against any welterweight he would win period. He could box he could fight and he carried speed and ko power.

  • MAYWEATHER FIGHTS 4 MONEY RAY FOUGHT 4 FAMILY MONEY COMES AND GOES BUT SUGAR IS SWEET

  • Those were back in the good days, the 1990s. Way better than today's shit fighters and crap days.

  • the best boxer i´ve ever seem.

el mejor boxeador que yo he visto

  • the best boxer i´ve ever seem.

  • duran vs sugar 2 was an exciting fight

  • I haven't seen some of these clips in 20+ years - I had forgotten how incredibly fast he was - all time great!

  • @dayeshadow

Ray leonard get nightmares of Hector Camacho

  • @Piglatinsuperstar Hector Camacho was six years younger and didn't rely on speed the same way Leonard did. Hector Camacho has nightmares about the 5 people who beat him up...

  • @tomasusan

actually, it was Hector who was at a disadvantage having come up much farther in weight (130)

and when it comes to speed, Hector & Roy Jones were simply incomparable. You might even say that HEctor Camacho was speed personified! I will admit that Ray was past his prime but we'd be more than a little dishonest to say Hector wasnt as well so it evens out.

on his losses, Hector avenged that one to Haugen. Past his prime in the Chavez fight. Julio ducked him for years

  • @Piglatinsuperstar Camacho was a tough guy to beat, and yeah Chavez beat a past his prime Camacho. On the other hand Leonard was way way past it when he fought Camacho. Camacho had a lot more in the tank. Leonard had no business in the ring, Camacho could still cut it.

  • I love the crazy "ghetto" look Sugar ray gives Wilfredo at 1:51, but Wilfredo is not falling for it because he's from around the way too!!!

  • The most "overrated" fighter of our era.

  • @41ofus What are you talking about? Listen, I was NEVER a Sugar Ray Leonard fan but if I said that Ray was overrated, I would be lying. The guy was a great, great fighter.

  • @41ofus You're joking right? You're entitled to your opinion, but...he beat Hagler, stopped Hearns, made Duran quit...and those are 3 of the best ever. Who else can say that except Sugar Ray Robinson? And he won a gold medal...and he would take a beating and comeback...titles in 5 weight classes...how many fighters can box, slug it out, take a punch, knock people out, great defense...he had it all. The best ever.

  • @derekmanteen1 He lost to Hagler, he held and ran that whole fight. Hearns beat him in the rematch. Against Duran, he ran, and acted like a fucken clown, till Duran said "fuck you" and quit. Com' on man...

  • i was punching the sofa after i heard this

  • crappy song.

  • @Haassan1 crappy song? you must be an Ivan drago fan.

  • @InternationalBoy hahaha

  • Amazing fighter

  • Sugar "Gay" Leonard - the biggest fraud in boxing.....

    1. He ducked Aaron Pryor his whole career.

    2. Never gave Benitez a rematch.

    3. Gave Duran a rematch 8-9 years later.

    4. Lost the rematch to Hearns that was 9 years later. (was given a gift “draw”)

    5. Ran and held the whole fight with Hagler - in a 30 foot ring with pillows for gloves.

    Fuck Sugar "Gay" Leonard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @41ofus he would of beat aaron pryor. he was older, i dont think he'd want to stand toe to toe w/ hagler. he was still a great fighter

  • @41ofus ....what happened in your life that you can be soo bitter at sugar like that?.. were you molested ?.....does his success and achievements bother you that much?...there are boxing gyms on every freaking corner!!...all you have to do is grow some balls, by some gloves, walk into a gym, start training and lets see you match his achievements, anyone can do it!!!...why dont you, whats stopping you??....otherwise shut up!!..i cant stand haters!! you are pathetic!!

  • @TheShinozuka I was molested by your mom.

Fact of the matter is; is that Leonard fought only 15 times from 1979 to 1997 - he was only 7-3-1 in his last 11 fights.

I was 48-1 as an amateur - I would have defiantly whipped your ass.

Leonard; was and is the biggest fraud in boxing; something you know nothing about.

  • @41ofus talk is cheap and i was a semi pro with 1 loss in 37 also ! so dont brag lol interesting to see if you could have whipped my arse !! but this man here would have took you out inside 3 minutes ! only a biased person could deny this mans talents !! one of the best for sure

  • @41ofus...for fucksake dude let it go already!!!

  • @41ofus wow 48-1 as an amateur, that sure as hell matches srl record. Did you also beat Duran, Hearns, Hagler and Benitez in that storied amateur career ?

  • @TheBestBoxingGame Sugar "Gay" Leonard....one more time "THE BIGGEST FRAUD IN BOXING!!!"

  • @41ofus Yea beating Benitez, Hearns, Hagler and Duran sure makes you a fraud. How many of these did YOU beat ?

  • @TheBestBoxingGame I beat your mom in a tough scuffle in an alley in LA; I finally put her down with an uppercut to her gut and a nasty right cross.

  • sugar ray leonard es una basura

  • Nobody in the world could tell me that the second and third fight against Duran were not arranged. Leonard was so scared of Duran. Roberto Duran is the best ever, PERIOD!!!

  • This vid is a true classic at its finest! Bring chills to my spine! Keeps me motivated! ...Thanks for the vid Lefthook Sinister

  • Roberto Duran and Thomas Hearns are the only lightweights better than this man.

  • @ssDaNss Yet Duran quit...

  • UNA BASURA

  • He was scared of Duran.

  • @hawkman350 i think anybody would be, but he fought duran's fight the first fight even though he still lost

  • @hawkman350 ... and your know this because???????

  • @TheShinozuka Because Duran beat him on a straight boxing match the first time around, then in the rematch sugar ray just ran away and clowned.

  • in my mind this is ali but smaller .....queck smart and brave and could out whit other fighters .....suger ray could mix it with the best

  • I am from panama and Roberto Duran is the best light weigth ever, but leonar is the best welter and my second hero

  • One of the Greatest of boxing

  • didnt he get out boxed by duran in there first fight, then act the clown in there second?

  • @frisbyrb5 SRL was always a dancer but due to the words "i will defeat roberto duran flat-footed" coming from him, he will have to keep to his words. But unfortunately, he lost flat-footed. But the second round he unleashed his potential to dance in the ring and humiliated duran, who gave up because he felt "embarassed".

  • y t a

  • This needed some eighties power ballards in the background, "The eye of the tiger " would have done the job.

  • It just copies the most viewed Ray Leonard highlight, I mean every part of the vid were taken from the highlight lol and with no video editing, he just simply put them in different orders and a random song

  • Camacho knocked him out tho

  • when he was well past his prime

  • I dont dissagree Reb

but you must remember that Hector's prime was back in late 80s, 1987 to be exact. so it evens out. both are past their prime but Leonard is naturally bigger. ray only came out becuz he wanted to show up Duran. Hector knew how Ray's mind works; calling out fighters past their prime, etc and he made full use of the opportunity. In effect, he outsmarted Leonard and he fell into macho's trap.

It felt really good for me to call both the winner and round on this fight

  • what about camacho?? He was a runner too. But him and leonard can box. thats why its called boxing not the toughman contest.

  • yeah he danced alot but he could flurry like a sunova bitch

  • the dancing queen of boxing!

  • He's a runner not a fighter. Case closed BITCHES!

  • amo a ray sugar es uno de mis idolos

  • i hated all his trying to be flash bullshit and running. he was one of the great boxers, but not a fighter, he didnt like going toe to toe. duran just couldnt be bothered with his clowning and he beat hagler in bullshit fashion, not the way a title should be won.

  • its boxing not toe to toe , sugar ray and floyd styles require soooo much of talent and skills and a crazy stamina and beleive me if hagler got the talent of being a boxer rather than a brawler he would do it but its a natural thing you can not train to have the reflexes of sugar ray or even the speed sugar ray is the best boxer ever and he beat all of the your toe to toe fighters you can call it running or whatever I call it talent , skills , speed its a fucking art

  • no, i agree on some aspects,eg: floyd is an amazing boxer and unlike many, i dont think his style can be called running, he's just extremely accurate and precise! floyd also uses his speed and skills to stay in the pocket and smash in counters, whilst i agree ray is one of the greats, he did afterall, fight all the other greats at the time. but when watching many of his fights he was just straight up running.plus he'd try to get fights when he knew opponents were at their weakest. (duran 2) etc

  • i totally agree he was a runner not a figher duran would had killed him if he wuld have gone toe to toe to him the 1st fight he did try to fight but durans punches were so hard that he ended up running just like the second n third duran was just a better fighter i dont know why sugar coward lenord is consider 1 of the bests fighters off all times just becuz hes american i guess..

  • yeah ur right, hes remembered because he was the good looking american, that appeared in adverts smiling, and articulate enough to transend boxing, so he's rememered for that more.

  • You do know boxing is not just about going toe to toe.... If that were the case the hardest puncher with a decent chin would always win. It's also so about hittin and not gettin hit that's how u last.

  • i know boxing is more that just getting hit is about technique, discipline boxing is an art. but at the end of the day boxing is also a show and a business and people pay a ticket to see a fighting event not a running one. those boxers should stay in the olympics or play dodge ball or something.. i am of mexican descent and once you have seen mexican boxers all your lfe is hard to appreciate running counterpunching styles. i know defense is important but you cant just play defense all the time

  • duran surrendered cos leonard ran for the entire fight. hearns fight was stopped to early and hagler whupped his arse.

  • Check 1:51 hahaha

  • leonard would take floyd to school there's no comparison.

  • @robertjc2200 Hands can't hit wat the eyes cant see...Floyd stands a chance

  • FLOYD WOULD LOSE 2 THIS MAN

  • Definitely, mate!

  • i dont know man ,i think floyd stands a chance at beating leonard, PBF can neutrialise leonards assult and conbinations (with his defensive skills) and movement cuz floyd would do most of the running and moving if they fight, floyd has a good chin, and leonard isnt heavy handed so he couldent KO floyd with just one punch.

i think they have a 50% chance of beating each other

i personally pick leonard by SD cuz i think hes a little bit faster.

  • Good analysis but i have to disagree Leonard maybe slightly faster(debatable) but Mayweather's more accurate, and sinece neither are huge punchers those accurate counters will start wear SRL down. Just my opinion.

  • @bronxrip25 So would Pacquiao, Debatable to say he would beat Mayweather though but that jab flurry and run is good way to score points if your hitting your target.

  • @bronxrip25 Floyd Mayweather isn't even in the same class, Floyd is about 5 levels below this guy. Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns, Wilfredo Benitez, Roberto Duran Aaron Pryor were pressure fighters and the best of their era. Floyd is a one shot counter puncher, he has never faced or fought anyone like the guys I just mentioned. Sugar hands were too quick, he countered and his hook to the head and body were par none. Watch Leonard against Pete Ranzanny, Davey Boy Green, watch his combinations!

  • @vincespell Remember:Floyd is defensively superior to ALL the above including Leonard, adapts better to situations in a ring better than anyone, most fighters have 2 gears at best,Floyd has about 12.Watch him against Gatti,Corrales or Marquez,.you'll never see a fighters hands move faster, far cleverer.Never wastes punches, never cuts or bruises almost impossible to hit cleanly,.Floyd Mayweather jr an Julio Cesar Chavez are my 2 guys of all time, you will learn everything about boxing from those 2

  • @bronxrip25 Floyd is defensively better than this man,and offensively cleverer than this man!!

  • @onlyjoetee whatever you say this man has something floyd will never have, heart and fire. And he would make floyd dance "the chicken dance".

  • @poiquilotermo You think Mayweather lacks heart and fire?dont be silly man!!obviously they are both great frighters,i just think Floyd is a little bit more complete especially defensively, and is more unique,Ray was like a welterweight Ali,cant say Floyds like anyone! The true greatness of Mayweather will not really be acknowledged until years from now, like most truly great people..

  • @onlyjoetee I don't like the attitude of Mayweather, I'm not saying he's not a good boxer, obviously he is, but if you can say that Ray was like a welterweight Ali, the Legend of Boxing, at least that is much more than being a good boxer. We can speak about Floyd as Pacquiao (I really think Pacquiao would win but it's only my opinion), but we cannot speak about Floyd as the Legend of Boxing.

  • @poiquilotermo Floyds "attitude" is a role that he plays to make money, like an actor in a movie, why cant people see that? He's a far far more complete fighter than Pacquiao and you know it,its not like people like Pacqiao its just that they are desperate to see someone beat Floyd thats all,the enemy of your enemy becomes your friend.Floyd is technically better than Ali even!!

  • @poiquilotermo people forget,Ali could not fight inside, threw no body punches at all,and was not very powerful, his thing was basically hand speed and movement.Floyd is a whole lot more than that!!

  • @onlyjoetee I'm not the one who will stay in front of you and your beloved. But you have to accept my opinion, I don't want to make you believe in what I think, what a boring world would be, and we would probably have nothing to talk about, but you finally started to delirious. Ali made boxing a lifestyle, he gave work to everybody, he had physical, good looking, unequalable speed, peerless reflexes, thoughness and resistance, elegance and education talking. Was beautiful to see, enjoyable.

  • @poiquilotermo so you're an Ali fan fine,he made boxing a lifestyle?what you think he was the first person to ever put on gloves?every boxer gives work to someone, there was plenty of speed and reflex etc etc in boxing before Cassius clay was even born

  • @poiquilotermo you say you dislike Floyd attitude, then you praise Ali?what about his attutiude?was FAR worse than floyd!he was rude,EXTREMELY arrogant, disrespectful, cruel, talked more trash than anyone in history, but thats ok right?

  • @bronxrip25 he already did haha

  • @bronxrip25 and manny wouldnt? manny would get hes ass whopped faster b

  • @azucarcruz well no as manny would beat floyd.

  • one of the greatest fighters yet one of the most under-rated
